Oppo Reno2 Z (128GB, Luminous Black)

Wish I'd known about this brand sooner, it's fantastic and has everything I need and more and I will probably stick to the same brand in future as I'm so impressed. The price in comparison to any equivalent "well-known" brands is amazing. I'm really happy I bought this phone. I've had it now for 4 months. Battery life is awesome - don't have to charge for days, even if I stream video. And it's super-fast to charge. I think the camera could be better - at night it added 'orbs' when near outside lamps and although it takes pretty good photos, I think there are better cameras out there (but it's not terrible, and I'm using it for all my blog photos and videos right now and it does the job). Umm. what else. It's extremely fast, has lots of space. Intuitive in it's use. ... MoreWish I'd known about this brand sooner, it's fantastic and has everything I need and more and I will probably stick to the same brand in future as I'm so impressed. Amazing Value & Superb Performance.

Amazing phone and value for money

Awesome Phone!

I got this last fortnight from the Tuggerah store as an upgrade to my previous phone, an Oppo A3s. The A3s I had, was the best phone I've ever had to be honest......with zero issues, compared to every other phone I've had which always suffered some major issue. Because of my Oppo, I chose to simply upgrade to another Oppo: the Oppo Reno 2z. So far, I'm loving the phone! I love the larger screen (6.5in....perfect size), the better screen resolution (sort of like 2K, but is 1080p), the awesome audio (Dolby Atmos), the sensational camera (super clear, awesome in night conditions). The phone is simply brilliant all around! And the other thing I love about this phone? The pop-up camera! It may seem a gimmick, but to me, it gets rid of that ugly notch or those dots ... MoreI got this last fortnight from the Tuggerah store as an upgrade to my previous phone, an Oppo A3s. It may seem a gimmick, but to me, it gets rid of that ugly notch or those dots (centre top, left or right on top of screen) that just don't look like they should even be there. This phone is simply a clean looking phone...... beautiful to look at! Another thing too, it also comes with a rather decent phone cover that's leather looking to help protect the phone. That's the good thing about buying an Oppo: you will ALWAYS get a free phone cover with your phone......unlike other companies who don't include one.

Best phone to date

This is hands down the best phone I have ever owned after losing my Galaxy s8+ I was sceptical about switching to oppo but little did I know how good the decision would be.Pros.- Battery will last all day on one charge and the vooc charging allows u to charge your phone in about an hour.- big display with 4k resolution- usb-c charging- goodies included (earphones, case)-good preformance even on higher end games-minamil company filler apps and services e.g BixbyCons.- occasional app crashes- front facing camera is a typical Android camera (gives you a long face)-slippery if not in a case (included case works wonders to combat this)

Camera distorts photos beyond recognition.

Bought for Christmas. If you take a selfie it has all these corrective options eg thinner nose, bigger eyes, skinnier face etc. If you default it still doesnt resemble how you look, all distorted and took one of my husband and it took all his hair off (thinning) and made him look bald as a billiard ball. Also taking any pics inside so dark, need the torch light. Will not use the camera for general use at all. To me not fit for purpose the camera side of thing. Would give people a false sense of what they look like and give someone a bad complex. Not happy. Too many camera options too, 4 cameras which makes it difficult to just take a photo spontaneously so many setting options to use.

Great smartphone

I did a lot of research and bought this smartphone about a month ago. It has all the features of a smartphone that I need without the high price tag. The only issue I have is the Bluetooth connectivity to my car. It stutters when playing an audiobook or music, which is really annoying and basically unlistenable. Making and receiving calls is just fine. I'm still looking into this issue. Bluetooth on other devices is fine. I love the look and feel of the phone. The camera is excellent and the selfie camera is quite a novelty! Delivery was very quick and arrived before the original designated time- amazing in COVID times! Overall, I don't think I'll need to go back to the big name brands.

Lovely phone BUT...

I bought this a week ago. The phone is lovely, in overall terms. Pros: good form factor with large screen, stylish metal frame, pop up front camera and well designed quad-camera on the back; huge 8G RAM and 128GB internal storage; fast and smooth performance.Cons: 1) Issue with closing all apps running in the background: The close all apps button is supposed to serve quick closure of all apps as instructed in Oppo website. However, tapping this button does not close all apps as it should - you will have to swipe each app up to close them one by one. I believe this Closing ALL running apps function is very likely a SYSTEM ISSUE in this Oppo Reno 2Z phone. That's why I remove 1 star; 2) Poor Oppo Customer Support: tech support staff keep giving repeating wrong ... MoreI bought this a week ago. The phone is lovely, in overall terms. I believe this Closing ALL running apps function is very likely a SYSTEM ISSUE in this Oppo Reno 2Z phone. That's why I remove 1 star; 2) Poor Oppo Customer Support: tech support staff keep giving repeating wrong advices which of course are not helpful, even after I sent the support team a video recording of the screen to describe the problem. That's why one more star removed from my rating. I have lodged a formal complaint to Oppo regarding the issue with Close All apps function for investigation. It is very regrettable for this lovely device.Surely improving usability of a lesser-known brand name such as Oppo will significantly benefit its popularity when comparing to flagship phones such as Samsung or Apple. Suffice to say that I have been a Samsung customer for many years. It could also help further if Oppo Customer Support takes more efforts in understanding the technical aspects of customer's comments. Regrettably, I see no effort from the Customer Support to try to understand the matter.I would still like to recommend this lovely phone provided Oppo takes efforts to improve the above mentioned issues.

Susan's review of OPPO Reno 2Z - 128 GB, White

Pros: Nice size and not too heavy in the hand. I like the display. Battery life is really good and it charges up again quickly. I haven't tried all the camera features, but basic camera takes good, clear pics, even with my notoriously shaky hand!It comes with a soft protective case, but this is stillcquite slippery to hold so I advise buying something different. On the whole, I like my new phone.Cons: The position of the buttons, half way up the sides, is rubbish. I am forever switching off the display or mutin the sound just by holding the phone.Sound quality is not the best, but I knew there was only one speaker sovthat was not unexpected.Still getting used to some of the os quirks.

The new Flagship killer

With literally every feature (and then some) that a phone over twice the price would cost, the Reno2 Z is the new value champion. The camera's are awesome with great dynamic range and the night mode is epic. Screen to body ratio is about the best your going to get at this price, with a pop-up camera that eliminates the need for an ugly notch and the bottom chin is minimal. The in-screen fingerprint reader is also very snappy and accurate. Speaker is loud and sounds pretty good.Performance I was concerned about being a MediaTek Helio P90 but so far has exceeded my expectations. Some of my initial bench-marking puts it around the snapdragon 835's performance. No issues on day to day tasks and can more than handle some gaming here and there. The only downsides I ... MoreWith literally every feature (and then some) that a phone over twice the price would cost, the Reno2 Z is the new value champion. The camera's are awesome with great dynamic range and the night mode is epic. The battery life is also pretty decent as I can easily get a full days use out of one charge, but I have noticed it does drain a bit quicker than I would like.In conclusion, a great mid-range all rounder with a focus on a good camera setup and slim bezels. I definitely recommend picking this phone up, you won't be disappointed.

Very impressed

I bought this phone about a month ago. I've been with Apple forever so I was worried about the transition to OPPO. But was amazed at how simple it was to change. Put in simcard, gmail account & apple account and the phone is setup in 10 minutes no hassle. I also bought the Samsung Watch which I'm happy to say also works flawlessly. I'm only charging the battery every 4-5 days. Great amount of features makes the phone easy to use and customise it to how you want your phone, not how the manufacturer wants it. Also iTunes looks and works the same as an iPhone :) Only possible drawbacks to this phone is it is a 2 handed phone (this phone is huge). At this stage accessories are very hard to come by as this is a new model.
