I decided to buy an optimum blender after spending a lot of time on the net trying to decide which blender to get. I was very excited the day it arrived in the post, only to find that the unit was faulty, contacted Froothie and they were awesome to deal with, and sent out a replacement base straight away. Can’t fault the service there.The blender makes great ice cream and smoothies, no complaints there.I don’t think the sensor to detect over use works, and if it does, it’s not very good. The first time I used it to make date balls, it was going great, till it stopped, when I took the jug off there was smoke coming out of the base, and what looked like shredded black plastic on the bench where the base was sitting. Only had this blender for a short while, got it to replace another top brand blender that I had which burned out after only a year of use. I use my blender several times a day and the 9200 has been awesome so far. So much power, no trouble blending a full jug of frozen fruit and greens for smoothies as that’s all I use it for. The preprogrammed run times are great too the way it stops and starts and speeds up by itself, haven’t had one single jug of ingredients that have gotten stuck and I’ve had to take the jug off and bang it on the bench to get them to drop like I always had to do with my other blender. I’d say the only fault I’ve found is on the top rim of the jug there is a little sharp lip left from the moulding process and since I like drinking my smoothies ... I love this blender. Mainly use it for smoothies using frozen fruit and I love how they come out really smooth and creamy. I’ve just had to replace the jug as the bearings wore out after using the last jug for 2 years. I think this was due to sometimes not loading the ingredients in the correct order or not using enough liquid. I’ll be more careful with this in the future as replacement jugs are quite expensive. I could have just replaced the blades but the jug was looking quite cloudy, it feels nice to have a fresh jug. Excited to be able to use the blender again, was a bit hard having it out of action while I was waiting for the replacement jug!

However, wanted to start exploring making vegan recipes, nut butter, cashew cream dip and lots of other blend recipes etc. Read up about the benefits of a Pro/more power blender which can start to get quite expensive.Like the review of this Optimum blender, the Frothie organisation (Aussie based) which all sounded great.WoW! received the Optimum 9200A promptly after ordering, unboxed it and was Not dissapointed, it is a quality piece of equipment.Read up the manual, and made my first cashew blend/butter/dip. So So easy, blended dry cashews to a perfect powder and then when adding the coconut oil all ingredients blended together perfect.Next day, tried a different recipe with ... I have had the 9200A for two years now. Device does everything that is stated and Froothie has been great with warranty. Repaired motor after an issue, no problem at all and repairs carried out quickly and efficiently. Had ordered an 8200 but Froothie offered a free upgrade to the 9200A on initial purchase. Blends far better than our previous Ninja blender, motor is so powerful. It handles all food types including ice so well. Had to recently buy a replacement jug as we somehow left a spoon in the jug and then turned the blender on. Jug broke, not in a dangerous manner, but everything else is in good order. Replacement jug is same great quality as blender. Very happy with our purchase.
We have bought two of these blenders. A previous model which is still going strong and our more recent Gen 2 that died this morning. The design fault is not with the blender itself but the jug that goes on top. You have to remain vigilant - as over time the screw at the bottom loosens and it allows liquid to come out. Needless to say leaking liquid from a jug and a blender motor do not mix well (pun intentional). After around 3-4 years of faithful service it no longer works and trips the circuits in the house when we turn it on. I saw no point accessing the lifetime warranty I purchased when it was user error - but there is a design fault at play here too and others need to be aware of this when purchasing and using this product.

Larger items such as apples and oranges are best quartered before putting them in the jug, same with long-stemmed vegetables being sectioned. A jug full of solids is generally well blended in thirty seconds provided that adequate water is added. A minute of blending solids seems overkill, even with the jug filled. Liquids are never a problem. Every different thing I've put in the jug has blended well. If the jug had a wider pourer, that would be of benefit and while it's not too difficult for me to remove the lid, arthritic hands would benefit from flaps or little handles on the lid to facilitate easier removal. Under the base of the jug where it sits on the blender, it is not vented and sometimes condensation can build up there when it's in the fridge, as careful as one can try to be. Some air holes there to alleviate condensation would be a good idea. The machine is a bit rowdy on the two higher speeds but it is what it is and gets the job done well in timely manner. The machine is used daily to re-blend different juices from bottles. When making a large batch which lasts a fortnight, the machine does a lot of work for a couple of hours and doesn't emit that "overheating electrical device" smell as some lesser blender brands are apt to do, some of them even burning out. Foods are cut as the job progresses and doing that allows the motor some cool-down time throughout the batch preparation. I've had the machine for a few years now.
I previously owned a Vitamix, and wasn't even aware that there was an Australian equivalent until last year. So I've had my Optimum now for about 3 months and these are my thoughts. The Optimum outperforms the Vitamix, it's considerably cheaper than the Vitamix, it's quieter, and the jug doesn't move around on the base the way the Vitamix did. It's hands down the best blender I have owned, and I continue to try new recipes and experiment with ingredients. I regularly make nut butters, nut and oat milks, hummus, soup, frappes and grind nuts and seeds. When I'm finished making the creamiest peanut butter of all time, I add milk, coffee, yoghurt, ice and cocoa powder to the jug, to make the yummiest frappe of all time. Had the previous one for over 7 years and didn't realise you could buy replacement parts (the jug and blades were a bit worn, nothing wrong with the motor which was still going strong), so I've got a shiny new one now and have given my old one away. So impressed with this blender, it works extremely well with fresh and frozen/solid ingredients, is simple to use and easy to clean. The motor works differently to the old generation one, as it alternates the speed during operation for more effective blending and mixing of ingredients within the jug I presume. The customer service for the brand is also a refreshing change to what we are all used to now. They were the ones who highlighted I could just ...
