This toothbrush is amazing, by far the best electric toothbrush I have used. Where do I start, this product cleans my teeth so well, the performance involved with this tool is superb. This product has advanced bluetooth connectivity to the Oral-B app which is involved with AI and real time detection through the app. The detection allows you to obtain knowledge on when and where you need to focus on brushing your teeth and the amount of pressure which is safe to use for your gums. Awesome Features

Lots more technology than my old Oral B type 3728 professional from 2017. I would rate the toothbrush itself 5 stars. I have an IO9. The Oral B app I would rate at 2 stars. I don't believe the Coverage information that I am given is accurate. 85 to 85% coverage is NOT accurate. I have tried the suggested tooth to tooth and then breaking my brushing into quadrants and I am ABSOLUTELY sure I am hitting ALL tooth surfaces. If you use the unguided portion then all you get is the brushing time and overpressure. The best session score I have had was the very first time that I used the toothbrush. It was a 76. Tooth Coverage was 97%- time was 2 min 53 seconds and over pressure was 4 seconds. I bet there is not a person on the planet that can brush their teeth and not have a slight overpressure somewhere. I think the App was meant to encourage good brushing techniques but I find it to be very discouraging when I do my best to improve using the coaching tips and sessions scores dip or never improve. I would like ORAL B to look at coming up with some way to better score the sessions. Again accuracy of brushing using the guided portion of the App just does not appear to be accurate.

Clean smile

I have been using this now for about 3 weeks. I previously had the I07. I now have the i09 and I really like it. love the features on the app because it is a great help to brushing your teeth. I am able to brush my tongue as well as my teeth. I love the tong feature. It shuts off when you have reach the appropriate time in brushing your tong. The app also lets you know if you are brushing your teeth and getting them clean by showing the progress of your brushing. The timer is great so that you don't brush too long, but just long enough to get the right cleaning. When I brush my teeth they feel so smooth and clean. There is such a difference in using the OralB i09 and using a manual toothbrush. I am glad that I have switch to the Oral B. Dis-Service

Customer service makes it clear they are doing you a favor. A big favor to take your call. Wait time is sometimes over 10 minutes. It took me 45 minutes to have the first service rep actually help me. They were supposed to call me back and never did. While the first rep got a preliminary approval to get me a charging case she needed to confirm with her boss. The second person I spoke to was rude and when I gave her the case number she asked me to repeat the entire story and issue again. Total run around pain in the neck. Buy any place else or anything else. Must say the inexpensive model I first bought is built quite poorly though it has good cleaning power. Form over function

I bought this to replace an earlier version Oral B Triumph TriZone toothbrush with wireless SmartGuide, so this review is coloured by having used that for many years. I would not have bought this iO8 toothbrush at the full price, but decided to upgrade because of the half price offer. It does a good job of cleaning teeth, but there are several disadvantages over my previous model.There is no stand-alone display as before. Timing information is now on the handle, and is very small and difficult to read. I can just about read it (in reverse!) without my glasses on when I look in the mirror, but only when I’m brushing my top teeth. It means you have to switch it off, dry it and then look at it to check progress before continuing with brushing, so I don’t bother. I used to be able to see the large display for my previous brush on the shelf in front of me without my glasses on to check progress as I went along, and it was also a useful clock for the bathroom all day.Also, the brush is now intended to be used by one person only. Given the price, that’s ridiculous. The separate stand does accommodate two heads, but they are placed so close together that the bristles are almost touching, which is unhygienic. My husband and I have shared one Braun handle and used separate brushes for years with no problem. The previous brushes had coloured rings to differentiate between users. This doesn’t happen with the iO8 so it’s possible to pick up the wrong one accidentally. I have had to order a third party stand , specially made to fit th slanting iO8 brush, to overcome this. It sets the brushes much further apart, as they should be.Given those provisos, it’s pleasant to use, and my teeth feel very clean (but then they did before!). The larger iO heads splash a bit more too, but maybe it’s better that they are larger. To sum up, it’s expensive and gimmicky. It's not as easy to use as my previous Oral B but it does clean the teeth well.

Oral B have improved

I was advised by my hygienist to get a new electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor. I opted for this one as it was on offer.I have been using Oral B for a few years. I ordered by click and collect from my local branch. I opened the box and charged it up. I already have the app as do not receive a clock like with my old one.First time of using with the app I was impressed as it shows map of teeth. Has a choice of options to pick ie daily clean, gum care etc.Pros app changes from blue to white when teeth are cleaned. Shows where are over brushing.Cons It is noisier than my old one and replacement brushes are more expensive.Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Teeth feel really clean. Hope next time go to hygenist she sees an improvement

OralB not resolving battery issue

I had the Oral-B Genius 7000 series and 5000 series for over a decade. I recently gifted the iO Series 8 which was meant to be quieter, more compact and have better battery life.I started having issues with the device after about 6 months. It would randomly switch off even though it showed battery level above 50%. I tried troubleshooting using instructions on their website which didnt help. I eventually sent it in for repairs. I was given a new toothbrush. After about 6 months with the new toothbrush I started experiencing the same issues as the old toothbrush. It would randomly switch off and need charging even though it was charged a few days earlier and the indicator showed more than 50%. Review of ORAL B Special Edition iO 8 Electric Toothbrush

At the end of the day, it's a toothbrush. However it is an IO one, which is what my dentist recommended - I needed one that shows how hard you are brushing and if you need to apply more or less pressure. Coming from a Philips Sonicare before this one, I feel like it does clean my teeth better with the rotating head rather than just the vibrating head. I do find it more messy though, with it being a bit of an adjustment to try to keep all the toothpaste in my mouth once I had started brushing, compared to my previous toothbrushes. This is due to their being a gap in the head to allow water/air in and out of it. I thought trying a new toothbrush may help (alongside more flossing) but was a little hesitant if it would be worth the price. Luckily I had some advantage card codes which gave me additional money off, meaning it cost me £135 in the end and I earned £25 worth of points.The toothbrush is of high quality and easy to navigate alongside the app. I have yet to try out all of the different settings just yet, but would advise others who are not used to such a powerful toothbrush to try the sensitive setting first. The app was telling me to use more pressure, but I actually found it a little painful! So depending on how sensitive you are, you might want to try out the sensitive or super sensitive setting. I personally have not been using the toothbrush long enough to really notice. So far, I can say it is not as good as my old toothbrush’s however it is to be expected with the technology in the brush. It’s not a massive dealbreaker for me as I have a charger in the bathroom, but maybe if you travel alot it would not be the most reliable.Overall I think that it is an expensive investment, but for me it was well worth it.
