I think it does an okay job but definitely not the full coverage that it claims. I purchased this to keep deer away from my peach tree and I would say that it covers maybe 10-12 feet with a viewing angle of about 90 degrees. It has kept the deer away but it does not pick up on the deer until they are relatively close.

This product works well and is easy to assemble. My biggest disappointment is that I am unable to buy replacement parts. If something breaks, you cannot repair anything. Don't leave the water on for even a mild freeze because the plastic parts will crack. Then you must throw away the product.

It’s been two weeks since we installed this. We live in a senior manufactured home park and have been invaded by Cats, CATS, CATS!!! Our large yard had become the neighborhood poop box for all these ferals and their constant new litters we were cleaning up at least 3 new poop piles every day. The flies and stench were very depressing to say the least. I tried animal repellents (liquid and granules ), and other home remedies to no avail. I had high hopes for this automatic sprinkler because of numerous good reviews on consumer reports websites. I've had cheaper automatic sprinklers, but I thought I'd try a more expensive one thinking it would work better. It seems that this model is not sensitive enough and doesn't have near the range as advertised. I can just about walk right up to these (I have two) before they kick on. Also, the external wire between the control box and the valve is vulnerable. How do I know that? A deer, which is the problem animal in my garden, while eating the plants right in front of the sprinkler bit through the wire. If these sprinklers worked half-way decent, the deer wouldn't have gotten close ehough to do that. Not sensitive enough for raccoons even at full sensitivity. Cheap plastic sprinkler head came broken. No response from orbit tech support.
Leaked a bit, but worked a few mons. Disconnected after the fall, then tried to reconnect spring, but it wouldn't detect motion or spray water. Too $$$ to die so quick!
The riser, where the sprinkler head screws in, is too large for the sensor unit to slide down far enough for the sprinkler head to screw down enough to seal. I will have to split the sensor attachment collar for it to fit. Or, I'll have to file the riser down enough to accommodate the sensor collar. Otherwise it is a nice unit. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who isn't prepared to do a modification on it to make it work properly.
I love this thing!!! I know it says not for indoor use but I am using it indoors in my 6’ x 12’ atrium that is at one end of my diningroom to keep my cats from using it as a giant litter box. They learned real fast and they are now making good use of their litter boxes in the basement. No more smells. Now I can add some new plants in there and get a puppy!I have the yard enforcer staked in the dirt in one of the front corners of the atrium pointed towards the opposite corner in the back and the water turned on as low as possible and it still shoots far. A little mist gets on the floor but I already knew that the cats would learn real fast and will hardly ever be triggered again, if ever. Big win for me! First, I made sure to order the more expensive model that has more metal parts. I believe there is a less expensive model that is not as well built. I purchased two of these Yard Enforcers and installed them to protect garden plants in my yard. I've now had them in operation for several weeks and have not had any more problems with deer eating my plants. At this point I am very satisfied with the results.
Since installing several of these around my yard the Deer have chosen different places to snack. I've seen day lilies come to flower and bloom that I hadn't seen in almost 20 years. My Hosta also look as they should and not a munched bed of what looks like celery stalks. They work very well and can be plumbed together with hoses in a daisy chain manner. They also have multiple settings, Day, Night, Always and Off which help fine tune your protection down to exactly match your needs. Started with one, ended up buying 3 more. They now protect all my flower beds. Well worth the money...
