There are very few watches that offer this level of quality for the price. I was skeptical about Orient initially. I thought “there’s no way anyone is actually going to make a decent watch and price it at a level that almost anyone can afford,” but I decided to get one based on the independent reviews I’ve seen, and I’m glad I did. The one question I have is this: If Orient can provide a watch this good at such an affordable price, then how can other companies justify charging significantly more for a watch that’s either no better or (in many cases) far worse?

I have no complains about this watch at all other than it just didn't look quite right on my wrist. I needed something a little bigger. I got in touch with Mark and found him wonderful to deal with. The return process was easy. I paid for the return postage with insurance from Australia as this was my choice to return what was a beautiful watch. I had not taken any of the stickers off the watch, worn it, or changed it in any way. My credit card was credited with the purchase amount when Mark received it so I can now chose another watch. Thank you Mark! Full marks!

When I first bought the Ray 2, I ended up loving it so much, I bought the Mako 2 as a compliment to it.The Mako 2 is built solid, accurate enough, and looks absolutely amazing. The mix of indexes and numbers on the dial is a refreshing look from dots, rectangles, and a triangle.Unlike the Ray 2, the crown winds and screws in and out smoothly. Definitely an appreciated function.Overall, a great watch. There should be a place for the Mako 2 in anyone’s watch collection.

The email responses were fast and efficient. Paid for expedited shipping and it arrived just in time for vacation. The watch is everything I expected. Beautiful, solid construction. Put on the new NATO I ordered with it almost immediately and have hardly taken it off. Not a fan of the SS bracelet, but that is just a personal preference. After a couple weeks of wearing every day, it is within +-3 sec/day. The new single screw-down crown is great. Very easy to set all of the functions. A fan of your you tube channel and found you from The Urban Gentry channel. An amazing watch all-round. The fact that it's so affordable s a massive bonus, but I would be happy to pay twice the amount for the quality. I have smaller wrists, but the short lug-to-lug makes it wear well. I also have the Ray in blue. The Mako has a bit more of a unique character, as opposed to a straight sub-homage, It's a very tough and easy to read watch. If you're on the fence, I say go for it.
This is my first Orient watch....but have been curious for the last couple of years after reading the reviews. I have a Rolex but refuse to wear it daily as I'm hard on them. So my go to daily watch has been Invicta which I thought was a pretty good product but the movements were off and I couldn't stand the flimsy bands. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality of the Orient watch exceeded my expectations especially at this price. The watch band has much tighter tollerences that I'm used to with my homage watches. This is a great watch so far! I'll update after I see how the movement holds up!

But I needn't have; the US and Australian postal services are reliable.When I opened the box, the Mako is all that I imagined it to be.I haven't worn it yet; I'm flying to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in a few days and will bring the watch to have the bracelet resized by my trusted old Chinese watch repairer. This is not a normal product review. I woke up today thinking I would just buy any normal watch, instead I bought a lifestyle. My life has totally changed, I can dive deeper than ever before. I dove off the coast of mt plasbowl for 15 hours, not one time did I come up for air. I swam with the blue whales, great whites, and even scrapped the bottom of the ocean floor while this watch guided me to victory. I went out clubbing the same day, and I was BLOWN away by the sheer vilatince of this watch. My bilateen vobilateed the flowgality of the left wort. skippity doo dah dey
Loving this watch. It's only losing a few seconds per day and looks great. People gripe about the hollow end-links but I think that's a minor issue - I haven't experienced any jangling sounds. The rest of the links are solid.When weighing this watch against the SKX series, I considered the more streamlined profile of the Mako II that allows it to slide under cuffs easily. After wearing a chunky G-Shock and finding it a pain in the ass to have under a winter coat, I wasn't interested in a watch with a square bezel profile like the SKX. The more refined look of the Mako II also appeals to me.The watch arrived with its box in good condition, thanks to the thorough packing.
