I've been so intrigued by Origin products, and I have to say I LOVE this! I recently ran out of my previous skin care items, and switched almost completely to Origins products. This serum is the best I have tried so far. I like that it comes with a pump. It's packaging is sanitary and easy to get the product out. As for the serum itself... It's just perfect for my skin. I have pretty normal skin. I get some dryness at times, and the occasional hormonal breakout. This serum feels very lightweight, and it has almost a creamy/milk-y consistency. I highly HIGHLY recommend it. My only warning is that it does have a natural, earthy scent to it, like an essential oil or like walking into one of those natural apothecary stores. The fragrance does dissipate quickly when you apply it; however, if you're not a fan of the scent, then you might not like it. I personally find it kind of calming, and it doesn't irritate my skin at all.

I usually apply it after cleansing, and my skin feels instantly hydrated and soothed, especially on days when it feels irritated or stressed. It has a slight earthy smell, which I think is due to the mushrooms, but nothing too overwhelming. My skin is very sensitive and reacts easily to any product, but especially to those that promise hydration. In my experience this treatment has never reacted to me and fulfills what it promises. But, be careful with this, the product relieves the symptoms, however it is important that you consult with a dermatologist the causes for which you have redness or sequence and if you can use the lotion. If you become itchy when using it, see a specialist doctor and stop using it until the professional tells you that you can use it. I feel badly for contradicting the other reviews on this serum because I have a personal understanding of how much one can depend on a miracle skin product; however, I am very impressed with this serum. I could not use the previous formula at all, it caused these terrible breakouts that I could not manage. The new formula is lovely for my skin, and although it is not the miracle product of my skin regimen (the mega mushroom cream is), it works very well with the line, and for me it was the missing piece of my skin puzzle. It has resolved the extra bit of dryness I could never get rid of before, and it is gentle and nourishing. I would like to make a recommendation to all my rosacea sufferers out there, I see a dermatologist to get laser treatments once a year for rosacea, highly effective both in results and cost, and in my opinion absolutely crucial to rosacea management. That once a year laser and this mega mushroom line are the ideal combination of treatment for me personally. I would recommend both to any rosacea sufferer because rosacea is brutal.

Great for Telangiectasia

I have pretty severe ""spider veins"" on my face - particularly on my cheeks, nostrils, and under eyes. This product line (Dr. Weil Mega-Mushroom) is the only thing I've found that has reduced the visibility of these red/purple/blue veins on my face. While there is no true topical treatment for telangiectasia (only guaranteed method to remove involves laser or other dermatological procedures), I absolutely notice a difference in the severity of color and extent of vein appearance. I also find that the products are a great preventative measure. I have used Mega-Mushroom products on and off probably since 2016, and now I exclusively use this line on my face.

I got a deluxe sample of this, and I was thrilled to try it because I love the lotion from the Origins Mega Mushroom line. I don't actually suffer from sensitive skin or redness, but I do have normal-dry skin and I feel like this line is very hydrating. This serum is like a thin lotion consistency, absorbs well, and also layers well under makeup. I read some reviews mentioning it smells like pickles- I did not find this to be true. The entire Mega Mushroom line has the same slightly herbal, earthy across all products. Actually, one of my favorite things about this is the scent. I will say that for the price of this serum, I think I'll just stick with the lotion. First my disclaimer: I have sensitive, red, oily yet dehydrated, acne-prone skin. I live in a hot, humid climate with extremely hard water. I am often in the sun at the beach or pool. So my situation is tough, skincare-wise.I LOVE this whole line. It has worked wonders for my redness and sensitivity, as well as hormonal/environmental acne. It is soothing, calming and gentle.
