I have been recommended the Orijen Grain-Free Dry Dog Food for my furry friend, and I have been feeding the same food to her since she was a puppy and she’s never bored of it! This high-quality dog food has exceeded my expectations in several aspects. The ingredients are top-notch as Orijen prides itself on using a variety of fresh and locally sourced meats, such as free-run chicken, turkey, wild-caught fish, and whole eggs. Plus, the absence of grains ensures a more natural and appropriate diet for dogs, especially those with sensitivities or allergies. The nutritional profile is also outstanding. The formula is rich in protein, essential fatty acids, and a balanced blend of vitamins and minerals, promoting overall health and vitality in dogs. My cats also do sometimes steal my dog food, rather than eating their own food! So I feed it to all my pets now. While the product’s price may be on the higher side, I firmly believe that the quality justifies the cost. With Orijen, I feel confident that my dog is getting the best possible nutrition, which ultimately contributes to their long-term health and happiness. The only minor downside is the limited availability in some local stores, but I found it readily available online, making it convenient to purchase and have delivered right to my doorstep. In conclusion, Orijen Grain-Free Dry Dog Food is a fantastic choice for pet owners who prioritize their dog’s well-being and seek a premium, grain-free diet. My dog was 17 years old in good physical shape before moving on to the rainbows due to old age 🌈 I highly recommend giving it a try – your furry companion!

I fed my puppy Origen from the very beginning. I was convinced I was giving him the best kibble on the market. Boy was I wrong! As a puppy he would occasionally vomit bile in the middle of the night. I attributed it to an empty stomach. At 2, gradually his hip bones and ribs started protruding.I was feeding him according to guidelines and even gave him a little extra, but he was looking emaciated as time went on . The vet confirmed it was muscle wasting and his kidneys were in early failure. There is no doubt if I kept him on Origen he wouldn’t be here. Don’t be fooled by the price, ingredients, or false advertising on the bag. I switched to PPP and his muscle mass quickly improved, no more vomiting, loose stools, and his labs are back to normal.

Different formula? :/
2 June 2023

I recently bought a bag of Origen Grain-Free “original,” yet it looks very little like what the “original” used to look like and my dog’s stools are really loose and differently colored than normal. This doesn’t seem like the right food. It looks lighter brown, dry and grainy-looking, basically exactly what the “Amazing Grains” type looks like. I know because my husband accidentally bought that one a month ago, so I still had it in the garage to compare. My dog has eaten Origen “Original” his whole life and it’s been wonderful for him. I’m scared that they have changed the formula or the wrong food is in the bag? Origen “Original” used to be dark brown and smooth, almost slightly oily in texture.

I have a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier that first started on Orijen Original when I took him off puppy food at around the age of 1. I fed him Orijen for several years and it worked well for him. He is very muscular and athletic and his coat is always very dense and healthy-looking. Our vet always comments on what perfect shape Ike is in. A couple years ago I started hearing about a condition called canine dilated cardiomyopathy and a possible connection to grain-free foods. Wanting to take no chances I switched Ike to a couple different foods containing grains. Now, Ike loves anything and wolfs any food put in front of him but the problem was cleaning up after him during potty time. Now, Ike loves anything and wolfs any food put in front of him but the problem was cleaning up after him during potty time. I tried different grain-inclusive foods and with all of them his stools were looser and messier and harder to clean up. I recently read more about the DCM and the FDA investigation and found that a determination was made that DCM could not be linked to grain-free foods. I switched back to Orijen a couple weeks ago and the problem disappeared. Ike's poops are firm again and he is much easier to clean up after. It may sound like a crazy reason to recommend a dog food but when you are picking up tootsie rolls instead of messy soft-serve three times a day it makes a big difference! Ike and I both love Orijen Original and recommend it.

Our 13 year old male Boxer was recently diagnosed with cancer and is on prednisone which makes him hungry all the time. This is our second bag of Orijen Fit and Trim, he loves this food and it is high in protein and low in fat which starves the cancer, or so I'm led to believe. He has limited time with us remaining and we want to do everything we can to give him quality life until the end. We swear he has more energy and friskiness since we switched him to this food which was post-prednisone, so maybe a factor of both food and medicine are at work. Either way, we will feed him this for the remainder of his life. It is very pricey, but the ingredient list is amazing when you read it out loud to someone and it is ranked at the top with Dogfoodadviser.com so we are ... MoreOur 13 year old male Boxer was recently diagnosed with cancer and is on prednisone which makes him hungry all the time. I think he likes it

We noticed our furry friend - GIZMO - was not as excited to eat when we placed his food down. We then decided we should change his food and started our research. I definitely wanted to buy from a Canadian brand. I found Orijen and the reviews were over the top. I found Wooftown sold the product online which made it even easier to purchase. It was a great online experience with the food arriving within one day ordering it.We are slowly introducing the food to Gizmo and from the photo I’d say….yup he likes it! He picks out some of the old food and dumps it on the floor to make way for the Orijen kibble…lol! He’s now excited to eat again and we are happy pet owners again. Thank you Orijen and thank you Wooftown. We will definitely be buying another bag from Wooftown.

If you’re stumped about what to feed your dog, then you may want to give this a try. I’ve switched my dog’s food several times for various reasons, but have always come back to this one. I have a large breed dog who’s prone to dry skin and joint issues. For cost reasons, I began experimenting with cheaper brands. The ingredients weren’t as good as Origen, but they were satisfactory IMO. Well, first, his coat changed. It wasn’t as shiny and smooth. Then, he developed dandruff. Dry little flakes all over his beautiful black coat. The final straw was the limp. He began limping. A quick trip the vet let me know he had a sprain. He’s a large dog who likes to play rough. I knew this and yet gambled with his nutrition in order to save a few bucks, and he was the one ... MoreIf you’re stumped about what to feed your dog, then you may want to give this a try. He’s a large dog who likes to play rough. I knew this and yet gambled with his nutrition in order to save a few bucks, and he was the one suffering because of it. I left the vet feeling horrible, and immediately went to Petco and picked up Orijen. I ordered a leg brace for the sprain, a great Omega-3 supplement, and some bone broth. Needless to say, about a month in, and his coat is back to looking shiny, glossy, and beautiful. After a good grooming, the “dandruff” has not returned. And his mobility during therapy for his leg has improved 10 fold. This brand is worth every cent. If I need to make a substitution, it will be with the sister brand (Adana) only. Watching him jump, play, and glistening in the sun is worth it. Your best friend deserves the best you can buy, and Orijen is the best.

Strange but True

I have a giant breed pyranese who are know to be picky and allergic dogs. After trying all the super premium foods no luck until now. A store owner suggested we try the Original. Full of poultry. To my amazement NO ALLERGIES and he loves it. How can this be? The only explanation we could come up with is how the food is processed. Orijen I understand makes their food differently than all the other kibble makers. It must be this. And or the ingredient quality. No more red spots, paw licking or constant scratching. No more teary eyes. What a relief and totally unexpected. Well done Orijen!

NOT COOL. The problem with MARS buying out a fantastic company (champion food) is they only care about shareholders so they do things to make more profit. Including worse ingredients and reducing the amount of food you get AND upping the price. That’s my little gripe about champion foods. We are starting to see an ever slight downhill trend, we shall see in a couple years how the ingredients change and price. With all that being said I still think this is the best product you can get on the market(in this price range) and is still superior to other kibbles. If I could afford it I would be buying carna4 but not the price for me.For those looking to try orijen I say give it a go. Watch the YouTube video on how orijen makes the food. It’s amazing. And it’s probably why my dog actually eats the food.
