First ortofon needle i've purchased since the Shure m 477 got discontinued. Connect cartridge to tone arm adjust to recommend weight and your ready to spin. I get great signal using traktor scratch, and it also looks great! I am happy with my purchase and will definitely be using orotofon needles in the future

These do an amazing job of sticking on serato vinyl and even standard vinyl! Even right out of the box

I always had the SHURE M44-7 and made the switch and I'm happy with it. Tracking is good, sounds good and can still scratch vigorously with them. Highly recommend them

Overall:To be fair to Ortofon I have decide to to a 2nd review of these needles. My initial dissatisfaction with the sound quality of these was actually with the sound that they produced when scratching. These are not the needles that ortofon promotes for scratching although these do hold up nicely in terms of tracking with back spinning etc. So after giving these another run, I adjusted to them and they are actually NOT as bad as I stated in my first review. I would probably try the scratch model if I could do it all over again. So 4 stars for these. Final answer!!!!!
I bought these based on my record collection being early 90's house, mainly on white labels so the quality over the years has become noticeably different with my Concord Nightclubs. Having these with a slightly higher voltage to amplify the sound has made a huge difference. Highly recommend these to all!
I ordered the pick-up element to install in my 'new' Technics SL1200Mk5.Since i really love the sleek look of the element and hate the elements using a headshell (at least the look of them) i loved this one.Once installed i put on my first record in about 20 years and immediately heard the difference in music between the 'modern' streaming techniques and the warmth and soul of vinyl. What this Ortofoon did with my old records was simply amazing. I used to have a Dual record player but now finally wanted something even better and i really found it.Although i'm not using this in a profesional environment i really can tell everyone who wants to hear how good this element is.
First thing I notice was the sound quality it made my records sound really good . It sounds really good with original vinyls even though they made for digital I love the sound very clear and nice bass.also sounds really good with the digital I really like these so much I would definitely recommend these.did i mention how nice they look because they look amazing to me. best part they sound amazing with original vinyl and also sounds really good with the control vinyls using serrato dj
Overall:These needles perform good as far as tracking etc. Ortofon stated that they cut out some of the high frequency in order to enhance performance with DVS. This is true and leaves the needles sounding flat. Sound quality is sub-par compared to Shure M447s. Not worth the money in my opinion!
I have 2 of them in total for both my turntables, only remark I can give is that a bend turntable arm gives the MK II even more quality in it's excellent craftsmanship. My second turntable the Stanton T.62 M2 has a straight turntable arm which makes it just a little bit more out of my control to handle it perfectly, but that is just detail of the turntable itself offcourse.
great sounding and versatile cartridge/stylus! happy with the choice & would recommend for anyone who requires quality sound
