I had the opportunity to try out this backpack recently and it worked extremely well. Being xs/s it is only 52L not 55L that I wanted but held everything for 4 days. It is well made and should be long wearing I think. It is adjustable for a good fit and feels good on loaded up. It has access to the sides for reaching your water bottles with the pack on or accommodes a water bladder. A place for your poles on the front and numerous daisy chain loops throughout for attachment points. Compression straps to tighten everything down. Best decision I made getting this pack. A bit pricy and no daypack but that is ok. The only thing is I wish the side pockets were a bit bigger to accommodate my iPhone 8+.

Our first packaging trip, and it was perfect! I tried on a few different packs, and this one was by far the most comfortable. Though it was uncomfortable under the straps at times, as I suspect they all would have been considering the weight I was carrying, I did not have any pains or soreness after removing the pack. Alsp, lots of pockets for organization and places to attach items to the outside of the pack.

This pack has adequate space. The fitting mechanism is convenient. The side pockets on the belt are almost impossible to access while wearing the pack, have to carry water and small items in another external pouch. I am not using a reservoir. The shoulders could have more padding and perhaps extend wider. Would be nice if vendor offered a 'user's manual's for us beginners to understand the best use of the many straps, buckles, pockets, etc. The how-to video on the Osprey site was rather cursory.

I haven't used this on a long trip but was immediately a bit disappointed in the color. I purchased this online so I didn't get to see it in person. The "black" is more of a green-grey. The backpack itself is a great product but if I'd known how didn't the color would be I'd have made an effort to go in store, or get another color altogether.
This pack exceeded my expectations. I love how adjustable it is. My only complaint is the color. The black one is very clearly gray, not black. I’m still giving 5 stars because I love everything else about it and it’s not that big of a deal. If the color is very important to you, consider checking it out in person or find another photo.
Volume, weight and quality are very good. Easy to pack. Straps are comfy. Waist is a tad narrow and waist pockets not very practical. Would definitely recommend for 2-3 day hike. No rain cover.
I tried a few packs through rentals and one return (thanks REI!) before settling on this one. This pack is comfortable even under a very heavy load (38 pounds) that I carried doing the Pemi Loop in cold weather. I love the way the padding on the hip belt and shoulder straps extends - this helps a ton if you’re on the curvy side, like me. The Osprey Aura was a poor fit for me because it lacked all the customization options. The pack itself is a bit heavy, but to carry so much weight with no discomfort makes that sacrifice worthwhile to me.
I recently used this for a two day trip, with very very steep and rocky terrain. I found the pack to be super comfortable, there were so many ways to adjust the fit, which was great for me as I have a shorter than average torso. The pockets and loops meant I could carry all my gear, snacks, and still have easy access to them. Fantastic pack! I highly recommend for 2-4 day trips.
I bought this pack for an overnight backpacking trip and I'm really glad I did! This pack has a lot of padding on the hip and shoulder straps, which makes it very comfortable to wear. I've been practicing with about 30 lb and this pack makes it feel easy. I really like the adjustable frame and the small, zippered pockets on the hip straps. One of the MJ employees helped me find the right sized pack, and it fits like a dream.
Th color wasn’t actual black and had I known that I would have gotten a different color but aside from that I love this pack. Great weight distribution…I barely felt the 40lbs I crammed in there. Might have gone for a 65L for longer than two nights though…especially if camping in the cold.
