Osprey Raven 10 Womens Pack - Classic [Colour:Claret Red]

(41 reviews)

The sleek Osprey Raven 10 Women’s hydration pack is great for fast-and-light day hiking but it has some unique features that make it especially useful for female mountain bikers and cyclists. The pack’s suspension consists of a foam framesheet and a channeled, mesh-covered Airscape backpanel. Padded “winged” shoulder straps provide carrying comfort while staying out of your way when you’re riding or hiking. A streamlined mesh-wrapped hipbelt works in tandem with an adjustable sternum strap to help you really dial in fit. The pack has an interior volume of over 600 cubic inches. That space contains a hydration sleeve holding an included Hydraulics LT 2.5-liter reservoir with a drinking hose and bite valve with a magnetic contact point that sync up with an attachment point on the sternum strap buckle. A scratch-free, heat-embossed zippered slash pocket safely stows electronics or sunglasses and stretch mesh zippered hipbelt pockets keep smaller essentials at the ready. Catering specifically to cyclists, the main compartment features bike tool organization capability and even includes a removable roll-up tool pouch. A dedicated bungee attachment can secure a bike helmet while side compression straps can accommodate full-face helmets. A blinker light attachment point (blinker not included) and reflective elements help to provide low-light visibility. The Osprey Raven 10 Women’s hydration pack is available in your choice of colors.

I have the Men’s version and got the Raven 10 in gray for my wife. Overall, it is a good pack with great storage, good compartments, etc. I have to agree that on mine and on this one, the magnet that holds the drinking tube is not only weak, it will not fit the 3L bladder! How is that possible? We bought a couple of 3L for longer rides and the magnet is about 1mm larger in diameter so it will not stay attached. Lastly, mountain biking is a muddy sport and our Camelbaks cleaned up better. A moderately aggressive scrub with a damp towel got 99% of the mud off of several generations of Camelbaks. The Ospreys are harder to clean and we are just accustomed to small mud stains all over them. This bag is amazing. First thought it might be small, but there’s so many pocket for everything I need to pack away. I can fit a sweater, phone/camera accessories, personal items, and snacks so easily. Perfect for when I go skiing too.

Ok…know this is for mtn biking but bought it to use as a hiking day pack for an upcoming overseas trip. Needed a smaller pack than my normal pack so I can go with just carry on luggage. Great pack - plenty of room to do the job. Took out the tool roll at the bottom to stuff in a rain jacket. Several dry runs have been successful. Small enough to meet under seat size requirements for plane.

Great pack!
17 January 2022

I originally bought this pack for it's intended purpose, as a mountain biking pack. Since purchasing, I've used this pack even more than I expected - it also works great for short hikes, ski days, longer bike rides, etc. Not only do I love the color, but the fit is very flattering on my athletic-built body. I like the stabilizing features on the arms more than I anticipated. I really love that the hydration mouthpiece sits in a place that is so accessible on-trail, but the pack keeps the hose well out of your way while you ride.It actually fits a lot more than I expected too, which is great for such a slim bag. Made this purchase as a "splurge" but now I'm really happy I own this bag in addition to a standard daypack.

Keeps the water cold and ice frozen.

Best purchase for hydration and a few supplies. The air scape is a huge asset to cooling my back and keeping the ice frozen. We were out nearly three hours hiking in the triple digits. That pack kept the water ice cold. Please put that feature in the trail running back packs. Please!!

I purchased all three of Osprey's MTB specific packs (in various sizes, as well as mens and women's versions, nonetheless) and this was the best of the 8 I tried, however, still has some serious flaws. First, its just uncomfortable--its heavy and the material is thick and rough. I LOVE my talon--especially the front stretch pocket, but the front stretch on this is so small its not really functional. The tool roll and dedicated pocket are cool, but all of the attachment points I find unnecessary and just add weight to the bag. Lastly, I miss the old school design of the water bladder in the main compartment...the extra zipper section again, adds weight and takes up extra space. Also agree with others--the waist pockets could have been great if they were made with a ... MoreI purchased all three of Osprey's MTB specific packs (in various sizes, as well as mens and women's versions, nonetheless) and this was the best of the 8 I tried, however, still has some serious flaws. I also wish this exact design was the 14L pack (its NOT--the 14L has even more design flaws!), as 10L is just a smidge too small for my needs (I ride with a full first aid kit).

Not great for quick access to items
12 April 2022

Although this is a nice looking backpack, I found it to not be conducive to my needs. It would have been perfect had it had a pocket where I could put my cell phone. Instead I had to take it off to grab my phone which was pretty annoying by the end of our hike. As a sidenote are used this for hiking and not biking, so it potentially is a better fit for someone that truly is using only for a bike. I ended up keeping as I plan to give to my daughter to use when we go on family hikes as she does not have a phone or any electronics she would need access to.

Still searching for the perfect small day pack...

The biggest issue with this pack is that the side pockets aren't big enough to hold a phone (unlike my Osprey 22 bag) so you have to put your phone on your back which means it's not accessible. In my case I just wear an additional fanny pack strap around my waist so that my phone is still accessible.Honestly if they fixed the side pockets I would recommend the pack, but as stands I don't think it's worth $140...Also, I've noticed the osprey hydration hoses get kinked very easily - mine was kinked on purchase but I didn't realize until I got home because it was inside the pack. Now I have to see if I can get a replacement, it's hard to suck water through.

This is a no go for mountain bikers of any ability

I bought and returned this due to the dysfunctional magnetic tube clip. It wouldn't stay put from the moment I left on a mountain bike ride whether that was pavement, blue, green, and definitely not a black run. And the tube is so long that you can just let it hang down, it would really ruin the ride. Part of the issue is that the magnetic piece is just to small. My other grip was having to use the sternum strap, it was really uncomfortable and I tried adjusting it. But to use the magnetic clip for the water hose you must use the sternum strap. Also the pockets sucked because you can't completely open them up wide like you can with a standard back pack. I had to watch a youtube video to figure out how to open the water bladder because it is sealed so tightly I ... MoreI bought and returned this due to the dysfunctional magnetic tube clip. One positive is that you have a lot of gear capacity with the bag, you can take everything you want and more on the trail. I do hike on an occasion and I don't think I would want to use it for that activity either, there are too many better options out there. I purchased the camelbak lux 14 and everything about it is better, its big enough to take everything and the water tube stays in place while I am sessioning.

I purchased this pack (as well as the previous model on clearance to compare) mainly for riding, but also to replace an old Camelbak for hiking. Out of the bag I can tell it's extremely comfortable and well fitted to a woman's body, and the fabric on the newer model appears to have been upgraded to one more lux vs. the previous model's ripstop nylon. Even so I may end up returning them both. The magnetic water tube clip sits in such a way that it does not play well with the geometry of my more upright endurance road bike, '18 S Ruby. If you are using it on a mountain bike with your arms spaced farther apart it looks like it would work better. You can see where this would be a problem in the stock photos. The question is whether or not I don't mind riding with it ... MoreI purchased this pack (as well as the previous model on clearance to compare) mainly for riding, but also to replace an old Camelbak for hiking. As previous reviewers mentioned I would also prefer a rain cover instead of the useless tool pouch as my bike has a SWAT box built into the frame for tools.
