By taking everything that they've learned about duffle bags and combining it with their expertise in rolling luggage, Osprey has created a travel pack which is truly AdventureProof; and this time it’s wheeled. The Rolling Transporter 40 is an ultra-durable, high performance duffel with all-terrain wheels, designed to go where other packs can’t. Featuring Osprey’s HighRoad chassis, this pack can cope with rough terrain due to its ABS polymer materials and extra-large polyurethane wheels which promise a smooth ride. The retractable ErgoGrip handle ensures that you can roll with complete ease and retain easy control over your gear. To make your journey even easier, the Rolling Transporter 40 fits on most European and Worldwide airlines as carry-on baggage (subject to individual airline policies). The body of the pack is made from very tough TPU laminated nylon, which provides exceptional durability while remaining light and soft to the touch. The construction patterns and materials of Rolling Transporter have been chosen to provide a high level of weather resistance and the ability to withstand a lot of punishment. The barrel shaped design makes the best use of available space and enables easy loading, whatever your chosen method of transport. Inside the pack, mesh pockets provide easy organisation of essential gear, whilst a large, easy access pocket on the top provides the perfect place to keep your Document Zip Wallet, keeping your passport and tickets together. The main pouch opens to the side, allowing Rolling Transporter to be packed like a suitcase, yet the multiple grab handles and lashing points let you throw these packs around like a typical duffle. An ID Card slot on the top lets you identify your pack in a hurry on the baggage carousel.

This has been a very good bag. Im glad it got it. I went to Scotland for 2 weeks and it carried all i needed for the entire time. I did use packing cubes which are a necessity for carry on bags when you are gone for 2 weeks or more. It is the sturdiest bag and so easy to move around with all the built in handles. Color is good to spot when you bag is coming off the baggage carousel.

I bought this about a month ago, and took it to the mountains of NC for a hiking trip. I love that it is waterproof, rolls easily, is spacious for the look of it and can fit in an overhead bin on a plane. The one negative is the handle, you have to pay attention when you retract it, the first time it gave me a wicked blood blister. But it only happened once. I love Osprey, they make quality products. I got this to replace my 3 year old Granite Gear carry on bag as it was falling apart. I'm tough on bags, I travel 300 days a year for work, they are thrown around in planes and trucks. I wants a bag that has sturdy wheels, good solid fabric that would hold up to the elements and travel. So far I am loving the bag. I hope it lasts for more than 3 years.

Great bag, lightweight, superb quality, rolls easily over rough ground/cobbles. Waterproof in all but a monsoon. Holds 40 litres, plenty of room. Access pocket on top for essentials, big enough to hold passport/phone/toilet bag/snacks etc. If you need a carry on cabin bag this is a great value wheeled duffel that will last for years. Will be purchasing the 80 litre bag next.

This is what I think will be my go to travel piece. So well made. Nice stitching and the zippers are sturdy and lockable, just came back from a 23 day cycling trip with a much too big bag and so ordered this one to check it out. It actually holds everything I need for my next cycling trip and much easier for me to move around. I can lift it above my head when full so should be able to get it into the overhead. The size seems perfect. But I wont know for sure until I put it into actual use . The colour stands out so if I had to check it I will be able to spot it on the baggage carrousel. The bag has a nice depth and is kind of soft so it’s easy to stuff everything in the bag. Has compression straps and then opening has a zipper pocket which is a good size. The handle doesn’t seem to take up space in the interior. I like to use the slim packing cubes as I can shape them easier into the bag. Even have space for my bike helmet and shoes and it’s not overstuffed. Great pocket for liquids. No outer pockets (except the liquids pocket) which very seldom have any space once you fill out the bag. Nice sturdy wheels . Lots of grab handles one on each side. The handle seems sturdy and I like the fact that it’s a two post handle. The bag is so light in comparison to my previous bag when full only 16lbs. It seems much more spacious that I expected. I’m confident it’s all I’ll need for my 15 day adventure.
I asked my local Moosejaw store in Chicago to get me one of these in for me to review. They gladly obliged (thanks!), I inspected it, and bought it. Easy peasy. However, the bag has a design flaw. When I collapse the telescoping handle, my pinky finger gets pinched at one of joints, bruising it or even reading off some skin, resulting in bleeding. I spent an hour in the Atlanta airport with a handkerchief wrapped around my finger. I got punched at least four times in this one trip.I just relegated the bag to my basement.Note that some other Osprey bags use handles of a different design (i.e., one telescoping pole instead of two) that might very well not have this problem.
This is a well-made bag and spacious enough for a two-week trip. My only issue is it is too long to fit wheels first in the overhead bin on most planes. It has to inserted lengthwise, which takes up the entire bin. This may be due to the size of the wheels. It isn't as ideal as I've read in other reviews as a carry-on bag.
good design and build. Tough material. Extending handle rather wobbly and may not withstand much hard work/abuse. Limited use to date, so time will tell. Good value? ....borderline here, you need to search for a discounter to make it "reasonable " value, otherwise look at the competitors for personal evaluation.
I haven't used this bag yet. I travel a lot and walk with my carry on in the city. The wheels look very sturdy. I really like the water resistant fabric. Zippers are covered with flaps and protects the inside compartment from getting wet. I wish it could also be used as a backpack. I will Buy the larger sizes in the future.
Ideal for the 3-4 day solo traveller . Perfect for when you need to navigate airports quickly and efficiently. It’s solid design with good wheels and material construction makes it both durable and stylish. Very happy with this bag thus far.
Rigid frame and rugged wheels make this thing pretty 4wd without being heavy or clumsy. Very well waterproofed and grab handles everywhere. lightweight but manages to feel indestructible. Planning on using mine for a year abroad. Also know that the 2019 model is completely different design and much more suited for airline specific usage. This 2018 model feels like it should be strapped to the top of a bus in Central America or tossed in a boat in Belize.
