Love, love, love this pack for backcountry skiing! Spacious. Smartly designed. Carries the extra weight well when skis are strapped on. The only drawback is the design of the helmet carrier. It doesn’t seem very secure but I’ve just found other ways to attach my helmet.

Great backpack, used it on a ski trip. Disappointed that it went on sale so quickly after we bought it. Just outside if the 14-day price adjustment period.

I got this based on the reviews. It’s a great pack that is perfect for backcountry skiing adventures. Zipper in the back is perfect for my shovel, probe, and keeping my water from freezing. Helmet strap is an added bonus. This pack is gray more than it is blue.

Like all Osprey products, this is thoughtfully designed. Well balanced with just a water bladder or when carrying skis as well.
If you dont want to carry a ton of stuff this pack is for you. If you want more than 1 spare layer, a snack, and you hydration bladder, I'd size up. I managed to fit my puffy, spare gloves, PB&J, hydration bladder, and skins but the zipper was a little tight. It was a very comfortable pack and I felt I had total rang of motion using it!
I love this bag!!! great for carrying my board & shovel to the terrain park in the city & for touring !! It doesnt move around and keeps me balanced on the decent & is really comfy. I haven't tried using it with snowshoes yet but it works great for my board so im sure it'll be fine! as long as there is something inside the bag to fill it up, the snowboard doesnt hit my knees and is super comfortable! the straps are super comfy too & i love the back access so i dont have to talk my board off ! i wish the hip pouch was big enough for my phone because i cant really fit anything in there other than chapstick and a granola bar. Took a second to get used to not having water bottle holders on the outside but its been ok! I might try to see if i can put it in the ski holder ... MoreI love this bag!!! great for carrying my board & shovel to the terrain park in the city & for touring !! Overall really pretty and comfy and well designed bag!
This could have been a great pack. I really wanted to like it. It is lightweight and contoured to my back perfectly. It had the perfect amount of storage for all the backcountry essentials. There were just two things I could not look past. The first issue was the helmet holder. It's not held to the pack, only connected through cheap plastic pieces that are tethered to a fabric loop. I am imagining them plastic pieces coming out as I am moving up the mountain. Not well thought out at all. The second issue is the lack of hydration storage. There is nowhere reasonable to put a bladder setup. No insulation storage in the shoulder strap to keep the hose from freezing. I ended up returning for a different pack.
Oh man this pack! It’s been so good! I got it for that spring corn but let me tell you I’ve been using it for field work instead. It holds all the things you need rain jacket, first aid, and even 1.5 spotting scopes comfortably! I love the hip belt. The clasp could be bigger but whatever. It opens very weirdly but I’m into it. I know this thing will be great whenever I finally use it for its intended purpose because she’s killing it in the biology world!
I’m a petite women so all my worn gear is smaller and this fits all my gear for single day backcountry non-avalanche touring (aka low angle, low elevation, trees). I fit repair stuff, first-aid stuff, a mirrorless camera, sweater, shell, micro spikes, skins, mittens, 32L nalgene, snacks, and goggles. And there seems to be room still for my avy gear if I wanted to do that kind of backcountry touring. Ski poles, helmet goes on the outside.
I purchased this to use for skinning on my local resort and for backcountry day trips. As usual with Osprey, the materials and design are thoughtful and high quality. The verdigris green is a fantastic vibrant color. The waist belt is just right for added stability when you want it, but can be tucked away easily. There are two features I'd prefer different. The main compartment of the pack is accessible only from the back panel, so you can't swing the pack around and reach into the compartment easily. You have to take the pack off entirely and likely put it on the ground to get into the main compartment. I think front access to all compartments would be easier and faster, especially when grabbing or stowing extra layers.Additionally, a sleeve or dedicated place ... MoreI purchased this to use for skinning on my local resort and for backcountry day trips. I think front access to all compartments would be easier and faster, especially when grabbing or stowing extra layers.Additionally, a sleeve or dedicated place for a hydration bladder would be nice. Yes, sometimes hoses freeze with exposure, but they're useful most of the time. There's a hanging loop inside the main compartment, but placing a hydration bladder there means it's on top and in the way of all your gear when you open the pack (access to the main compartment is through the back of the pack only). There's no exterior pocket of any kind for a water bottle, so staying hydrated is more of a hassle than I'd like it to be. Front access to the main compartment would resolve both issues. I'll be interested to see if I adapt to the pack, or if these features become a hassle.
