Bought this for cloths dry bag when I backpack! This is just perfect for my a set of thermal sleeping apparel, my down jacket, mid and base layer. It all fits great. To get the air out, it was kinda tricky but I’d definitely buy this again. In fact it’s my second one. I have one and my wife has one

Bag is great but not completely water proof

I was generally happy with how this bag performed on a lazy river trip. I wasn't sure how dry it would keep my phone so I placed my phone in a ziploc bag and I'm glad I did as a bit of water got into the dry bag. I will treat this bag like it is water resistant in the future and assume items inside the bag can get a little wet with repeated water exposure to the bag.

Good so far...

Limited use so far so take my rating with a grain of salt. I bought it for fast packing and haven’t used it for that yet. Fabric is a good blend of durable but light weight enough to be able to bring it when weight is an issue. The roll down top seems reasonable but haven’t tested it in water. Ive used lots of dry bags for paddling and this wouldn’t be at that level but its reasonable for the cost and fabric and closure. Could use velcro on the roll down Id think

Gotta Love It

I have grown to hate stuff sacks. They coat the fabric with a PU coating. After 4 or 5 years the coating deteriorates. It gets sticky. Drawstrings stop working. The bag becomes worthless. Osprey bags don't have the PU coating, they use the Silnylon fabric. I have had one for several years with no issues. These are all I will buy from now on. I have a stuff sack from the late 80's that had no coating and no water proofing. It holds my stove and fuel bottle. It is over 30 years old and works fine. Will Osprey last that long? Check back with me when I reach 90.

Great For Packing Sleeping Bags

I got this mainly to pack items to go beaching but it turns out, I can stuff my 4F heavy sleeping bag, squeeze the air by sitting on it and stays so compressed and tiny. I’m actually quite impressed with this item. This is going to be so much better than those packing cubes.

Keeps your stuff dry

I use this to keep bulky items (extra clothes, emergency shelter, first aid kit, etc) dry inside my pack when I can't use a pack cover for various reasons. It has worked well so far.

Light weight and tough enough

I have had one of these for a couple of years and a couple of backpacking trips and bought a few more for a Paris Canyon adventure that unfortunately was aborted because of high water. I have filled them with water and saw no leaks after about an hour. I used my original one to hang food a couple of times, and after some abuse it has held up well.

Very Light Weight. Wide Mouth.

I purchased the Osprey 3L Dry Sack since I have 2.5L from Seal Line and it is a long and narrow cylinder, but fits a water bottle nicely. I like the wide mouth of the Osprey, but the light weight material is very thin -- basically one layer of silnylon. The Seal Line bag is a much thicker material and water sealed better. However, for my use, the Osprey works great! I put my rolled-up Patagonia down vest inside, quickly and easily, and it's just the right size (I'm a Medium). I carry the bag in the inside pocket of the vest when not in use. It's very light weight.

Would not suggest to buy.

I bought this to use as a dry bag while kayaking. Sealed and rolled 4 times with my phone in it and somewhere along the way I still got water in it. I have never had an issue with Osprey as a company until this purchase. My REI returned it no problem after hearing me out to buy something that would stay water tight.
