A really great pan (truly, not just saying that)

I’ve had the always pan for about 3 weeks now and have used it several times. I genuinely very impressed by it and would recommend it to people (I actually have already recommended it to several friends who saw mine and wanted one). A few things that stand out:The construction: The pan feels really sturdy. It’s not nearly as heavy as I expected it would be, but it feels solid and put together well. I also LOVE that the inside cooking surface doesn’t have any screws or bumps from the handles being attached. Makes it so much easier to keep it clean and slide food out.Cleanup: The nonstick inside is truly nonstick, not a gross metal coating that scratches off eventually. I got the sage green color and it looks so good and consistent across the entire pan.The lid: So sturdy but also light. Love that it has a little indicator to show you where the opening is to slide it over a spatula or let out steam. The one thing that I wish was different is the small handle. I wish it didn’t get so hot, although it makes sense because it’s metal, because it makes it a little difficult to move the pan around. But just remember to grab a cloth or oven mitt and you’re fine.

Within the first three weeks of receiving your pan, when it is at its best you receive a link to write a review on the pan. But after that three week window you can’t leave a review anywhere on the website UNLESS you specifically reach out to the company to request a link. I got this as a Christmas gift, and on Christmas when I looked over the pan, there was paint flaking off into the cooking part of the pan. I inputted an exchange the following week only to get the exchange at the end of February 2023. When I opened the exchange pan, the steam holder had white water stains on the stainless steel. The handle of the pan had a gouge/scratch, and the inside of the pan was not smooth but felt like rough sand like from the bottom of a waterpark pool (which was different from the first pan). Not only was this pan a disappointment, but also the shipping is terribly long. I did email customer service to see about exchanging to the cast iron pan. You can only get 1 exchange through the system-generated exchange then the hassle of only communicating to Customer Service via email. This is a pain since you will be going around in circles trying to point out the flaws only to be ignored.

Did Not Live Up to the Hype
27 December 2022

With all the hype around this pan, I wanted to love it. But, alas, I returned it. The concept is terrific and the non-stick is definitely something to live about this pan. But, for me, that’s where it ends. I was sincerely disappointed in the color. I picked out the oatmeal color expecting a soft white/tan. Unfortunately, it was an unappealing light buddy brown. Nothing like the ivory I’ve seen online. Ok, well, it’s still a neutral and on-screen colors can be deceiving, so I continued on.Right out of the box, the finish had imperfections in the finish and knicks in the paint. Even the bottom has scratches. I tried not to worry too much about it, as I figured with use, paint chips and markings would be inevitable, anyway. As I read through the care information and ... MoreWith all the hype around this pan, I wanted to love it. Hand wash only? Ok, I expected that. Only use (up to) medium heat? Hmmm…why? Shape distortion? Finish damage? No, this was getting too complicated too quickly, especially since other people in my household would be using and caring for this product.I did try it out a few times while trying to make my decision on whether or not to keep it. It cooked my omelette nicely and definitely lived up to the non-stick feature it touts. I just wish it was a prettier color, more durable, and less finicky when it came to taking care of it—ESPECIALLY at this price point.

I have used the pan
14 December 2022

I have used the pan daily for a couple of months now. Light green color is great (and hasn't discolored on the bottom of the pan), heats evenly, super non-stick, cleans with a paper towel every time so far. It's a great pan and think it will last a long time. I have 2 very minor suggestions: it would be nice if there was a hear resistant material that could be added to the small extension on the pan opposite the handle, so that you could pick up the hot pan with food in it using both hands without having to find a pot holder or towel as the extension piece is just as hot as the cooking surface. 2nd, the wooden spatula when seated on the handle extends a little too far into the pan, so that sprinkling salt or other seasonings get blocked where the spatula extends ... MoreI have used the pan daily for a couple of months now. Just pull it back an inch and that problem disappears. These are hardly worth mentioning, but to me, these two small corrections would make this the absolute perfect pan compared to any pan I hav ever purchased throughout my life. I will be looking at the other pans you offer as this one has surpassed my expectations.

I love the Always Pan!
12 March 2023

My husband and children bought the Always Pan as part of my Christmas gift, but I received it a few weeks ago. I have the Perfect Pot as well, so I made spaghetti using both pieces of cookware. Browning lean ground beef was a breeze in the Always Pan. There was no sticking, and I was able to drain the excess fat using the built in drain spout (spaghetti was easily drained this way as well in the Perfect Pot)! Making spaghetti usually requires me to use a large pot, a strainer to transfer the pasta into, a pot or large bowl underneath the strainer, a skillet, a spatula, a fork, and a spoon or two. Nine pieces of cookware/utensils reduced to four pieces - Always Pan, Perfect Pot, and the wooden spoon and spatula that came individually with each piece. Lovely to cook with
2 May 2023

I am pleased so far. This pan is lovely to cook with. I have not had a chance to use the steamer yet and the wooden spatula is not my favorite but I prefer to use silicone utensils anyway. I love the shape of the pan and the lid. Neither are too heavy and using the pan does not feel cumbersome. I actually really like the square handle, too. And the color, wow, the blue salt is beautiful. I have the original version so it can't go into the oven but that doesn't bother me, I rarely have the need for that. I actually purchased the mini pan first then decided that it was lonely and I had to have the larger one. We have used it almost every night cooking dinner. I like to keep things pristine so any specs on the bottom, I just use soap and a magic eraser and they come right off. We have a electric smooth top so the bottom has not gotten scratched but I suppose gas grates may harm the exterior and bottom if you are not careful. Looking forward to new items in blue salt!

This is my second OurPlace pan. I am not sure if you have changed manufacturer but this has been far less quality all around. This never happened with the first. The main reason I decided to get another was that the other ones’ handle was slightly peeling and that you had these new pretty colors (I had the black/gray).They are very pretty but now they are no better than my le creuset pans. By heat sensitive lid and handle was great and the long lasting nonstick was wonderful.I hope you can go back to the way you used to make them.

The Pan my wife ALWAYS wanted is now at Our Place.

The Always Pan is a versatile, non-stick pan that has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. I love the sleek, modern design and the fact that it has a built-in spurtle (a spatula-spoon hybrid) and a nesting steamer basket. One of the standout features of the Always Pan is its durable, ceramic non-stick surface. It's so effective at preventing food from sticking that I can cook eggs without any oil or butter, and clean-up is a breeze. The pan is also oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's great for roasting and baking as well.I also appreciate the fact that the Always Pan is made from sustainable materials, including recycled aluminum and a recycled plastic handle. You know when something seems too good to be true, and then it is? Not here! Love my always pan 2.0!A real struggle I have is with "non stick" pans that aren't actually nonstick. This pan absolutely delivers! I've already used it to make Alfredo pasta (using the steamer basket for boiling the pasta, as well!), stir fries, eggs, etc... no heavy scrubbing, just gentle loving! Photo attached is of some scrambled eggs that I tested without oil added - boggles my mind! This pan is also fairly light weight, which is wonderful for me since I injured my wrist as a teenager and haven't really had the same mobility or strength since. It's designed so well, from the spatula holder to the venting, and the depth to its aesthetic.
