Do not buy if your Yorkie is Fierce

Arrived on Tuesday. By Thursday, the 8 pound wonder had it fraying on the edges. By the following Thursday, I had to throw it away, because he was swallowing the threads of red material. Very sad. He is, of course, a terrier, and gets involved in his toys. He is also 8 months old and so at peak destructiveness. However...he's not a large animal. Very disappointed.

This dog toy has proven to be durable and long lasting even though my pit bull and German Shepard use it to play tug of war almost daily. It is one of their favorites and I often find them both chewing on the corners of it which helps with tarter build up. As well as keeps them occupied while allowing me time to achieve housework with no worry they will destroy it this causing me to have to purchase another. I am sure it will eventually be worn down but it has lasted longer than any other chew toy I have purchased. Great product

Great lab fetch toy!

In more than 6 years that we have had our rescued lab, the firehouse dog toy with squeaker is the only toy he has not destroyed in 15 minutes or less other than the solid rubber ones we don't throw indoors. He loves to play fetch with it! I would give it 5 stars except that a much smaller visiting pup of many breeds, who chews anything she can get a hold of, was able to rip it open in a relatively short time when I wasn't looking. So for my lab--a really great and longlasting toy. For her--not so!

I had high hopes, but...
12 February 2023

Destroyed in literally five minutes. It says it's built to stand up to tough chewers but my pup killed it immediately. First there must have been some strings that were sticking out that we didn't notice because immediately, he pulled them. We were watching, and trimmed them before giving it back. Then he immediately put a hole through the tough material. He did love it for the five minutes he had it, though.

Not Built Ford Tough

I had the small version that lasted 3.5yrs before my 7 yr old Dutch Shepherd finally broke into this toy. I ordered another one, the large, and in less than a week, she tore up the corner. They were kind enough to send a replacement, free of charge, but didn't take her 2 days to tear into that one, too. I'm not sure what happened in the quality of this product that is made from Firehoses supposably, but it is not for strong chompers. First pic, the bottom in the original large i purchased, above being the free one sent shortly after. next two pics are the last couple of days of chewing. Not recommended. which is really sad because all in all, she loved the toy completely, but she's ingesting fabric and fluff and didn't get sick, but i did notice some "red poops" in ... MoreI had the small version that lasted 3.5yrs before my 7 yr old Dutch Shepherd finally broke into this toy. Not for Power Chewers
7 January 2023

I bought this for my Belgian Malinois thinking it would be strong enough to stand up to her playing habits. She had it less than an hour and was supervised in play for all but about 5 minutes. She still managed to chew one end open and remove the stuffing and squeaker. It has been put away and I'm seriously considering buying a tree to play with. She is a total power chewer and destroys all toys. When we rescued her, she came with a chewed up regulation size basketball. That should have been a clue..... Great toy for average dogs. My dog is an exception to all "indestructible" toy rules.

One of the best
8 July 2023

In desperation I got one of these from my dog's puppy class store. With one exception, he destroyed every toy he had as a puppy. That was when he was 4 months old. He's now 20 months old. This toy has held up. He has chewed the ends, but has not gotten to the stuffing. But, it held up when so many other toys did not. For my dog, it was excellent. Now, we play fetch with it.

Thankful there was no fire............
23 April 2023

...........because this hose sprung a leak. I have a 54lb Mountain Cur, Catahoula Leopard Dog. He LOVES stuffed and plush toys. I had high hopes this being made out of a material that is dragged on and off trucks, roads and sidewalks constantly. Within minutes my little firefighter ripped the end open on this hose. Better luck next time.

Tough Enough
27 November 2022

I can't give my 95 pound bloodhound/lab anything made of cloth or rope as she will demolish then eat them. Same with rubber bones. While she still manages to chew the ends off of this toy, after that the rest remains intact and she safely plays with it and chews on it without further destruction. Not only does my dog love this toy, the fox that lives in the woods across the street got a hold of one that was left outside and now he runs around the woods with it! The only other toy my girl has is a black Kong, a Kong treat ball, and Nylabone Durables.

not for the tearing phase of life
1 March 2022

Pops finally got into the tearing stage, so trying to find toys they can play tug with and not destroy. Their obsession right now is to remove squeakers from all objects and play with them nonstop. I had high hopes for this and I think the material is great but the seams don’t seem to be so tidy. Three hours in a corner was gone. So it has been two days and it’s slowly shredding they have not gotten the squeaker out yet so that’s a plus. Most boys don’t even make it this long so that’s a positive in my book.
