First let me write about my experience with Stanley as I assume like many others I opted for this cup due to those never being in stock. I purchased a Stanley 30 oz tumbler due to all the hype. I like the style and the fact that they have so many different colors. The CONS I found are: - The straw does not hold shape if you are a biter (my children love drinking out of my cup and I had to buy another pack of Stanley straws because they flattened both ends of the straw which leads to my next point) - The straw comes out SO easily. My kids are constntly pulling it out throwing it on the floor (gross). - I didn't want to continue to buy straws that were specific for this cup. You can only find them online at certain palces and after shipping I spent over $20 ON STRAWS. ... THe straw holds shape so my little biter kids can drink from it and I don't have to deal with a flattened straw. It doesn't even have bite marks from how hard thr plastic is! Second, I actually flip the straw upside down so that the kids can't pull the straw out. They haven't pulled it out once in the week i've had it. Third, there is a suction that holds the straw which makes it harder for them to pull up. I am very pleased with this cup and happy I tried it out!

I really wanted to love this product. My Owala Freesip is my favorite water bottle, but I was mildly envious of the Stanley cup users and the comfortable handle. Now, the handle of this tumbler is fantastic. It's big and comfortable, which is exactly what I wanted out of my emotional support water bottle. It also fits into a cupholder (a feature that I find nice, but not necessary. I found the feature to be more useful when at Target and using the cupholders in the shopping cart. As most stores don't have shopping cart cupholders, however, it will not be a well-loved feature for me). And while it's not completely leakproof, it's splashproof enough that I don't have to worry about the contents spilling if I knock it over. However, this cup is incredibly hard to drink ... The rubber around the straw seals so well that drinking through the straw creates a vacuum. I can only get a small mouthful of water in before water won't come up through the straw anymore. I can somewhat work around this by not screwing the lid on or by trying to expose the mouth-piece while the straw is in. However, neither of these are very good solutions. I am likely going to return this and purchase a new 40 oz Freesip bottle instead. While it doesn't have a handle, it IS completely leakproof when closed while still being easy to drink from. And while it won't fit in a cupholder, it does fit in my water bottle sling making the need for a cupholder essentially obsolete.

I own 3 of these cups and have nothing but great things to say. I was so surprised by the negative reviews I just read because I haven't experienced any of those issues. I purchased 2 40-oz tumblers a little over a year ago. One for me and one for my husband. Initially, I thought it was a very expensive cup just to hold water. However, one day, I left the cup in my car overnight and asked my husband to go get it. When he came back inside, he said do hou know there is still ice in this cup. The cup had been in my car well over 24 hours, and we live in sunny California. I was amazed, and so was he. After that, I purchased him one. We both use our cups every day with no issues with sweating or leaking. I purchased my 3rd cup last week and hope I continue to have no issues.

I love this cup! I did not want to spend the money on the Stanley! And I didn’t like the feel of the Stanley, this handle feels more durable, the straw attachment comes off nicely for cleaning and is not flimsy. The seal is great it keeps ice cold for 3 days. I have actually left it out on the counter and ice is still in it with water or my beverage. The only downfall is Target does not carry extra straws. And I wish they would. I like to have extras because I am known for the straw that goes down the garbage disposal. Or it slips through the dishwasher and melts.
This review has been copied from the one i submitted on the Owala official website. I purchased the Owala 40 oz tumbler in the color Polar Brrrr from Target less than a month ago. I was looking for something larger than my Hydroflask 32 oz, something that had a handle, sip or straw, was leak proof, and fit in my cup holder. After lots of research to determine which brand i should buy from i landed on Owala. This is my first ever Owala cup as i’ve been a loyal Hydroflask user for years now. Within my first 24 hours of owning this bottle it fell at work and dented the bottom of the cup. After reaching out to some Owala groups on social media they all suggested i get a boot fit for my cup. So now i have a boot but it doesn’t help because the design of the cup is so top ... Within my first 24 hours of owning this bottle it fell at work and dented the bottom of the cup. After reaching out to some Owala groups on social media they all suggested i get a boot fit for my cup. So now i have a boot but it doesn’t help because the design of the cup is so top heavy that it falls and tips very easily. in my years of owning hydroflasks i’ve dropped them a few times and they’ve never had paint scratch off the way the Owala does. This morning it fell out of my backpack while walking to my car and hit the concrete. the plastic lid is scratched where the "sip" is making it scratch my lip and the handle popped off when i picked it back up after it fell. I’m not sure if this is typical of Owala bottles since it is my first one and i’m VERY disappointed that i cannot get a refund because i invested in this bottle for college when i already am low on funds. I’m so disappointed with my purchase because i had such high hopes. On a positive note, this cup IS leak proof given the straw drips a bit on initial tipping and it does keep drinks hot and cold for hours. I just wish it held up better since its price point is quite high. I wish I would’ve just invested in the Hydroflask model instead of this one as I know they’re more durable.
I was initially really happy with this tumbler, but it dings and scratches very easily where my other tumblers have not. The straw broke really easily, for example. I did put a protective boot on it, but that doesn't cover all of it. the inside metal is also quite thin and easily dented. Plus it's so well sealed that it doesn't spill, which also means it's hard to draw up water easily through the straw. I am going to switch to a hydro flask tumbler, which has a far better straw and works well both to avoid spills AND to let you actually get water out through the straw. Finally, it's so tall that it tips very easily.
There's a lot of hype going around with the Stanley cup, and in an era where we're encouraging drinking water, everyone definitely wants to find "the cup". I read a LOT of reviews regarding many different cups, and took awhile before committing, but I always went back to the Owala. It came highly recommended from one of the few influencers I trust, and let me tell you, IT.DID.NOT.DISAPPOINT. If you're in the market for a solid, durable, reliable and investable cup, this is the ONE. I am SO glad I finally took the plunge and ordered this cup, my water intake has increased exponentially, it keeps drinks colder for much longer, no leaks, and I love that I have the straw option, but still maintaing the cold. That's unheard of. My boyfriend loves his Yeti, and I finally ... I collect tumblers like nobody's business, and let me tell you, THIS IS MY MOST ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ONE!!!! I drink A TON of water all the time (hydro homie, if you know, you know) and this cup holds a beautiful 40oz of water, while not being weighed down by a heavy container. It has a handle, which is very sturdy, comfortable grip, and wide enough that my hand doesnt feel crammed in a tiny hole or uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. The lid has two drinking options, which is awesome depending on what I'm drinking or how I'm feeling. I know that no matter which way I choose to drink out of it, that by not picking the other option, I'm not having things still fall into my cup. The water stays cold in it for several hours without ice, and I generally drink ... MoreI collect tumblers like nobody's business, and let me tell you, THIS IS MY MOST ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ONE!!!! I HATE cups that don't fit into any type cup holder. You would think that because this fits 40oz that it doesn't fit any cup holder. That is where you are very wrong. I have yet to find a reasonable cup holder it did not fit into. It's a little taller, yeah, but it doesn't roll around everywhere and is always within reach (with that great handle) and I absolutely in love. I buy Owala brand cups for my son who is in elementary school, and now I buy them for me!I totally recommend these cups. Get one. They are worth it. And so fantastic.
Omg you guys! I am so tickled that I got to get this awesome 40 ounce Tumbler from OWALA in this pretty Saltwater Starfish color scheme. I love this tumbler so much! It's the most perfect addition to my life because I've now stopped using most of my other tumblers because this one is almost perfect for me! I am always looking a great cup or tumbler to add to my collection send I'm always hoping that it's going to be better than what I've already gotten in the past. Well, I'll be honest with y'all, this OWALA has totally won my heart over and it's absolutely great use!First of all, this tumbler arrived at my home super fast once it was shipped and on the way, plus, it was packaged so well too prevent any damage from happening to it during shipment. I really appreciated that because no one wants to receive a scratched up cup.As for this really nice OWALA tumbler itself, I love everything about it. Truly. It's got such a nice weight and feel in my hands when I hold onto it. The handle doesn't hurt my hand at all. I do think it could have options or a way to add a foam or rubber grip over it, but that's my only complaint! It's just to prevent my time from sliding in my hands when they're wet. So nothing that's a big deal. The tumbler has this great 2-in-1 lid that you can either sip from or you can add a straw and they've actually included one with this Tumbler that's absolutely perfect for it. Save the best part about the straw area, is that it's leak/spill/splash proof! There's a great rubber seal there that you slide the straw through and truly does hold the liquid in so well. This things insulated, so it keeps your hot & cold drinks that much hotter out colder for a longer period of time. Oh yes, and it fits in my cars cup holder! I can take this thing on the road with me everywhere I go! Plus I really like the smooth feel of the dark blue colored metal that was used to make this tumbler. They used very good materials to make this so that it lasts forever. Its super easy to clean. The lid is top rack dishwasher safe and they do recommend hand washing this tumbler by hand only to preserve the finish of the tumbler. Which that's no problem with me. I honestly don't mind. But if you didn't want to wash it by hand, you can always put in the dishwasher as well.I highly recommend this tumbler if you're a person who gets tired of crappy tumblers that have all kinds of issues. This one will last a really long time. It can be taken with you in the car. It's a very nice, sleek looking tumbler that comes in a bunch of different colors and holds actually holds 40 ounces of your favorite liquid! It's super easy to clean, has a little pop of color if you choose so & keeps your beverage at whatever temp you wanted, for a longer bit of time since it's insides so well. You cannot go wrong with a product that's actually meant to last at all. And, it's from a brand that is doing great things. What more could you ask for?
First of all I have 4 Owala freesip tumblers and have no issues with them at all, love them. This is the worst stainless steel tumbler I've ever had! It sweats terribly and of course don't hold ice at all. Owala and Target both have generic customer service responses and they're a joke. Owala requires a receipt to submit a claim which I didn't keep since all four of my other Owalas are of such high quality. If all you want is a pretty tumbler for decor, have at it. If you want a tumbler to keep drinks cold, this isn't for you. So disappointed & disgusted with Owala.
