I bought the owlet package with owlet camera 2 and the sock expansion for kids up to 5 years of age. The packaging was nice and directions were pretty straight forward. HOWEVER, I didn’t like that no where before you purchase says that you need to have an internet router that can split between 5G and 2.4GHZ ! I would have saved hours of my time trying to connect the camera to my internet ! Modern routers are dual band routers but they will choose the fastest streaming GHz which is 5G. So my router kept trying to connect and the camera wouldn’t work!I called owlet customer service they were absolutely no help! All they did was advise that I reach out to my internet provider to see if they could split the internet connections. It has active heart rate monitoring, which is good, but it seems they've been forced to remove the real time O2 level monitoring, instead replacing this with an average readout of the past 5 minutes. Presumably this is a pivot based on some regulatory trouble that came down on Owlet, so I don't even really blame the company. However, the end result is a product that feels significantly less useful for parents that like to purchase this primarily for peace of mind. That being said, they've transitioned this product to focus more on sleep quality, and it seems this bundle now includes the Dream Lab sleep training program. This will be a hit with certain parents that are planning to sleep train their kids, giving useful insight into sleep quality and patterns that will help give you kid a better night of sleep (and a better ability to independently sleep). We haven't yet used this feature given our child's young age, but I've heard good things about it.The camera is a modest upgrade over the previous generation and adds some additional features like action clips that you can go back and watch. This is an improvement not only over the last generation cam, but also a lot of the more basic baby monitors on the market. However, it would be more useful to have a more comprehensive video timeline to help with tracking. In terms of performance, it seems to operate a bit better than the previous model in this regard as well, but time will tell if it's truly an upgrade.Overall, I can't help but feel disappointed. Again, understanding that the company was forced to reposition their product, I understand why they did it. But active O2 monitoring was a landmark feature of the Owlet product line, and I can't help but feel like the usefulness of the sock has been majorly impacted. They've tried to bridge the gap by making this sleep quality focused, and it will be useful in that regard, just not in actively monitoring sleep safety as it was in the past.

Another thing I love is that the base of the holder is magnetic so you can reposition the camera in any way you need and it’s secure and easy to access if you are going out of town and would need to grab it and bring it along for the weekend!The other thing I noticed was it was easy to add another child to the system, you just enter their name, weight, date of birth, and then you can have them wear the sock and record those readings, this is great when we eventually have another baby and we will want both kids to use the sock to monitor during their sleep cycles and get those patterns to better help them get sleep at night. The sock does have two different weights to it and you start off with your newborn, and go up to a toddler age kiddo!I am very happy with the owlet duo and will recommend it to friends and family in the future for their little ones and even growing kiddos!

It has a two-way capability so that you can hear the room that it's placed in and have the ability to talk to your little from your phone to the camera through the app. It has a 130-degree wide viewing angle with a 4x digital zoom by pinching or spreading on your screen. It does connect through WiFi and the clarity is actually pretty good for what the camera itself is. It also comes with these concealment tracks to hide and also protect the wires from being tampered with by your little one and makes the install much neater rather than having wires hanging all over the place.I’ve said this in my other reviews when it comes to Owlet I'm definitely a fan of the Owlet brand and I would highly recommend this to others for peace of mind with their little ones.
My baby just reached 4 months and I’ve had two serious issues with the sock. These issues involved disconnecting from monitoring without alerting me through the base or app, which makes me feel like the sock is creating false a feeling of safety, instead of providing the monitoring overnight that would give me peace of mind.First issue was a missing firmware update that caused the lapsed monitoring without warning. Customer service helped with a full reboot and things seemed to work after but I was in no way reassured that it wouldn’t happen again.Second issue was with the battery suddenly dying after 3-4 hours of use despite reading 16 hrs at the start of the night. Customer rep was difficult to deal with, copying and pasting the exact same email and then making a backhanded dig.We purchased for the sock but bundled up with the camera because why not. As others have said it’s not great. Main drawbacks: 1) it disconnects randomly, 2) if you change to a different app on your phone the sound stops working so for example looking at a recipe means the monitoring turns off, 3) it connects through wifi so doesn’t work in hotels where there is a password required. Our basic radio-style monitor is much more reliable and easier to use. That said I like the motion/cry alerts on my phone and temperature reading feeding into the app is nice.I gave a 2 instead of a 1 because it’s better than nothing but I’m not sure I’d spend the money again given I don’t trust it will monitor 100% of the time I’m asleep overnight and that was the whole reason I purchased the sock.

I had to cosleep (I never thought I would cosleep )with our little one so we are only using the sock at night but it brings me comfort to know he is ok. The app and sock have worked great for us! We like that the sock has reminders on correct placement. The camera is small with an easy set up and the magnetic base makes it easy to adjust.
