My rabbits love/loved Oxbow pellets. Our old bunnies lived to be 13 and 11 despite many health problems that seemed to be congenital (propensity for GI stasis, incurable eye infection, multiple ear ablation surgeries). I think feeding them Oxbow hay, pellets and vitamins were definitely factors that contributed to their longevity, in addition to expert home and vet care. I was skeptical at first because of his these pellets looked, but I.am no longer at all skeptical. I think Oxbow is a great brand that I am happy to support.

My wife unknowingly bought this food unaware it was more of a mix in because it’s too high in fiber but she was so amazing and adopted a hamster for our family yesterday and wasn’t really informed on hamsters or their care (though she didn’t know I’ve been doing research and educating myself on hamsters and their needs for the last 3 years in case we ever adopted a hammy). It was the thought that counted and I’m so glad she went for Oxbow with it being a trusted brand that we’ve always used with our rats and rabbits. I’ll definitely be picking up a second food source so she can eat this food with Higgins Sunburst and fresh veggies. I don’t know if I’ll purchase this again as the hamster community seems to be against this food and has made it clear that this isn’t ... MoreMy wife unknowingly bought this food unaware it was more of a mix in because it’s too high in fiber but she was so amazing and adopted a hamster for our family yesterday and wasn’t really informed on hamsters or their care (though she didn’t know I’ve been doing research and educating myself on hamsters and their needs for the last 3 years in case we ever adopted a hammy). For now, my girl, Munchie, is eating this food but I’ll be mixing it in with another food just so it doesn’t go to waste.

I love this food for my male Netherland Dwarf! The ingredients are great for rabbits, and I love how I can trust the brand to bring me the best for my small animals. The price is good, I do wish the option to buy 25lbs was more accessible. Living in the country, it would be much easier if we could order it from a website. :) But A+ product, and I don't recommend any other rabbit food for my rabbit keeping friends!

My bunny gets a handful of pellets in the morning and another handful at night. But I’ll also use the pellets as trata through the day and she absolutely loves them. Hay and pellets with an occasional baby carrot is all she eats and she has never had GI stasis or any other issues. She’s a free roam and I think that also helps.

Natural source of granules . It’s full of mineral and my bunny enjoy it. I used them as well to hide in a game hide treat what makes him used his sense to find them it’s definitely a good time for him and I . The granule doesn’t broke in pieces like often other brand do that it became powder after all and it’s not what I’m looking for. Every bunny would be happy with this brand .

There are many types of Hay out there for my furry friend and it is sometimes difficult to decide which is best. I really like using oxbow Hay because they have some varieties that are all good for chewing on because of the different textures and nutrients. This is always fresh and crunchy.

Do’s and Dont’s for Chinchilla owners!
29 January 2021

This is probably the only chinchilla-safe food you can buy from pet stores. Chinchilla owners: DO NOT feed your chinchilla anything outside of plain pellet and hay! They CANNOT have: fruits, veg, nuts, seeds, anything with high sugars will give them major health conditions. They as well CANNOT have paper (carefresh) bedding, they chew constantly and it will swell and they will die. Aspen or pine are great and help absorb the smell too! Plastic should never be in the cage. Kiln dried pine or all metal are great for ledges, and you can use anti pill or blizzard fleece to make hideaways for them. Water bottle, not dish should be used in cage!

My two little guys (male Guinea Pigs) love it. They dislike any other brand. I buy the 25lbs bag 2 to 3 times a year. What I really love is the fact the bag has a built-in Ziploc to keep the food fresh. I use an old cup and leave it in the bag to dip out the pellets. The neat think about this recipe is it has Omgea 3 & 6 Fatty Acids and since Guinea Pigs can only have non-meat or non-animal product it is nice that Oxbow includes Omgea 3 and 6 Fatty Acids to keep our little guys healthy. This is why I am willing to pay more for Oxbow but I buy in bulk and it is actually cheaper to do this in the long run. I really can't say anything more than this is Awesome! :-)

Oxbow Adult Rabbit Food
8 September 2018

The absolute best food to give your rabbits! It's high quality timothy hay based pellets recommended by vets. Our bunnies LOVE it and sit ready by the bowl when it's time for dinner. We have always given our rabbits Oxbow, ever since our first rabbit almost 8 years ago.If you want healthy rabbits this is the way to go. Our rabbits are happy, healthy and never overweight or sick.Oxbow is not expensive if you consider how little amount of pellets each rabbit eat a day. At some stage there has been almost 30 rabbits to feed here but I have never considered any other pellets that cost less. I can highly recommend Oxbow to all rabbit owners!
