OXO Good Grips Dough Blender With Blades

I would have to say anything made by OXO is great. Oxo peelers and graters - wonderful. Oxo pop containers - awesome - especially if you have small hands that don't like big lids. Or hands that are getting arthritic. The dough blender comes in very handy if you are going to make your own pastry for your pies.

Easy to use

Love how easy it is to use and clean. Definitely has made bleeding my butter in my flour more effortless and messy which I’m thankful for! Great quality and sturdy. The blades can bend easily if pressure is placed on its side. But not a deterrent for me

Great baking tool

Used it this week to make cookies and it worked like a charm. I love that it's not the old flexible kind that would get all bent out of shape. It also cleaned up nicely in the dish washer.

Love this pastry cutter. It was worth every penny. Extremely sturdy, very comfortable handle, and I like the way the blades are slightly angled. Worked great for what I needed and overall was very impressed.

OMG...

OMG..I have been using my Mother's from the 1950's...finally had to let it go (sorry Mom)! This is like day and night!! I should have bought this "newer" model a long time ago. The OXO design is great for comfort and the job it has to do!!

OXO good grips dough blender – great product

I bought this to make scones, as mixing hard butter into the flour with your fingertips is no easy task. this tool made it considerably easier and saved time. It feels solid and not at all flimsy. If you make scones often, or anything that requires hard mixing, I would recommend buying this.

Solid blender with a mild habit of letting its blades bend

I have used it to make pie crusts with frozen butter and chilled shortening, and also to make biscuits with fridge-temp butter. It works well for both and mixes quickly. The blades, especially the outer two, can bend slightly (like 1/8") while blending, but it is easy to bend them back into shape with a butter knife as I clear the butter or shortening that accumulates.

Very sturdy!

I had been looking for a sturdy dough blender off and on for over a year. I finally found it at Bed Bath & beyond. In spite of being damaged in shipment, looks like someone stepped on it mashing the tines together. It was so sturdy that I decided the tines could be straightened out rather than returning it. My husband took a straight wooden spatula and slipped it between the tines putting just enough pressure to pull them back it place. It is a very good product and I would recommend to anyone.To Bed Bath & Beyond: Please consider shipping in a small sturdy box because the plastic bag that I received my pastry blender in didn’t provide any protection against damage.

Works like a charm

I am thrilled with the performance of the dough cutter. I make biscuits regularly and have relied on using two knives to cut in my butter. This cutter not only creates a perfect mix, I don’t make a mess as the curve fits the bottom of my largest mixing bowl. While the blades look sharp, they are aren’t sharp enough to cause a cutting hazard. The blades are also far enough apart to make clean up easy. I remove the larger lumps that are stuck between the blades then just toss into the dishwasher. I highly recommend this product.

inefficient, poor design

Maybe I just love my old wire pastry blender, but I'm having a hard time getting this one to mash the butter into proper bits. I'm considering going back to criss-crossing two table knives. This OXO (a brand I usually admire for design, and efficiency), pastry blender leaves large chunks that are hard to get to with the rigid form of the wide blades. There is a "void" area near the edges of my only slightly rounded bowl sides that its ridged shape just doesn't like to get into to grab out the larger chunks of butter. Additionally it is hard to clean between the cutting blades, if you don't use a dish washer, .
