OXO Good Grips Silicone Spatula - Spoon

It's hard to mess up silicone utensils in my opinion. These are lovely. The colors are so appealing. I cook with them every day and have no complaints. To improve one thing would be to add a spoon/paddle type utensil so you can scoop out what you've made. These were a little pricey compared to others on the market but I like the variations in size.

The OXO Good Grips silicone spatula set is perfect for 3 different kinds of uses. The 9” spatula is really good for reaching the bottom of different size jars. The 12” rounded edge is good for scraping bowls. The other 12” is shaped like a spoon and it’s good for turning batter. The handles are very comfortable and sturdy to use. I am very happy with this OXO spatula set

Awesome spatula! Sturdy, strong, heat tolerant

I like this silicone spatula very much. I love that there is no seam where the spatula ends and it becomes the handle. Instead, there is a (horizontal) seam where the black grip handle meets the white spatula, only much further down, where food is UNLIKELY to fall into the seam, which is a feature I did NOT like about many spatulas that I have bought before it. It is solid, sturdy, well-made, and can withstand hot temperatures without melting. That is important to me as I use these at times when I make fudge. You must pour fudge out of its pan quickly as it hardens quickly, so I NEED a spatula that can tolerate heat; the pan remains warm even after I have emptied it. I use these all of the time, and I just love them. The price is also reasonable, so I plan to buy more.

Exploded in Microwave

These spatulas were not worth the price, especially when one exploded in my microwave. I was melting chocolate, and as I typically do, I left the spatula in the bowl. I melt chocolate in 15 second intervals, take out the bowl and stir with the spatula and put back into the microwave for another 15 second shot if the chocolate isn't fully melted. Well, imagine my surprise when I heard a load pop and opened the microwave to find the spatula had exploded. Luckily it didn't go all over but just seemed to pop with its interior threads hanging out. This has never happened in all of the years I've melted chocolate with other spatulas so needless to say these spatulas went into the trash.

Gotcha Covered

Love, love, love these spatulas! You don't need anything else to help with your cooking. I can clean off beaters, get that last little bit out of my measuring cup, dip into the mayo jar, spread frosting, and fold in egg whites. I can also stir hot foods without worrying about melting the edges of the spatula. Best set ever!

Kitchen staples

Sturdy material, can't complain. The blue one is great for getting every last bit of things in containers/jars like mayo and pasta sauce.I love using the other ones for sautéing veggies, cooking eggs, etc.My new favorite thing to use the blue or red ones for? Spreading peanut butter on to my bread with them. Time saver!They were consistently sold out and I'm so glad a friend was able to buy them for us off of our registry!

My new Favorite Spatulas

Theses are AWESOME. They are SUPER easy to clean. They get every last bit of whatever is in the jar I am trying to scrape out, OUT! Perfect size for many condiment jars. No more hassle or yucky mess trying to take apart 2-piece wooden handles from dirty rubber spatula heads. One piece makes everything so much more efficient and easy.

Too rigid, not flexible enough

I bought this to replace my existing Oxo silicone spatula. I thought it was the same, but it’s not. Apparently, the ones they sell individually are rigid almost to the tip. The one I have is rigid only up to the middle, half the spoon or so is flexible. That makes it easy to scoop batter etc.. This one was not easy. I returned it. It seems the flexible one only comes in the set, with utensils I don’t need. I wrote to Oxo days ago, no response yet. I returned this spoon.

WORTH the cost!

I bought this spoonula in white & loved it so much I came back & bought a red one. It is well-made, has a nice heft to it & is a real work-horse. It is not going to break down any time soon. It has just enough flex to scrape a bowl clean but enough strength to smoosh together a pie dough, or stir the stiffest of cookie doughs, etc. (I used the white one to stir an intense red food gel into cookie dough & it did NOT stain. However, I can NOT testify to its' sustainability of whiteness in an acidic tomato sauce. That's why I bought a red one!)I also love that the handle & head are all one piece so the head does not separate as does inferior spatulas.I would buy these again & again.

The flatter spatula pictured is not the one associated with the OXO model number on the site. Who knew? This wrong one is curved and thick. The flatter one works well with my Vitamix. Plus, I had 2 delivered from the store so now I have to go through a clunky process to return them. I don't know the UPC for the correct one. 🙁
