You won't have to replace it, at least not for a very long time. Seriously, I see no signs of wear. And I most often use it to strain the extra water out of a package of frozen spinach, which means pressing down on the mess quite firmly (I support the underside with my other hand when I do this, though--I'm not stupid). The mesh is still perfect, the finish is great, the rubber handle is fine, everything! And I wash it in the dishwasher every time! Lasted exactly 4 months before the plastic around the wire mesh cracked and broke. For reference, my previous Winco strainer lasted 14 years. I’m going back to that brand and their stainless steel construction.

It is very easy to use with big draining jobs and small draining jobs. I had purchased a larger strainer from you earlier, but this is the most versitle one and it is a good size for storing. It does not take up that much room. It is easy to handle.

Excellent strainer, sturdy, works perfectly, and dishwasher safe. We use this strainer to rinse whole grain rice before cooking, as well as wash veggies and fruit. It holds the two cups of rice that we usually cook, with ample room to swirl the rice around in the strainer and get it really clean. The double layer of mesh prevents the rice from falling through. The handle is very comfortable, which is important when it is loaded with heavy fruit. We wash our strainer on the top rack in the dishwasher, with all wash and dry cycles, including the hottest cycles. None of the parts rust. This is a high quality item, and a must-have for a great kitchen setup.
Good size, sturdy and great quality mesh strainer by OXO. I had a large plastic one for a few years and didn’t have a mesh one when necessary, now I do. It is made of two components: Rubber (dandle) and Stainless Steel (rest of the strainer). The handle it welded onto the strainer and is very sturdy. I like the hook on the other end which holds the strainer put on larger pots. The fine mesh is strong, won’t easily bend. The mesh is 7” in diameter on top or 8” counting the stainless ring edge to edge. Overall, great quality strainer that should last for many years and is dishwasher safe.
This wonderful strainer made it possible to carefully and easily strain my chicken stock in one step! I wash a lot of fresh local produce in the summer, and this size strainer is great for washing larger amounts that don't require the colander (a quart of berries or enough lettuce for a big salad). The fact that everything but the handle is stainless steel also means it will last longer since the ones with plastic rims tend to crack over time.
I wanted a larger strainer for sifting flour when making cakes and this is perfect. Good size which means no flour spillage over the sides. OXO products are really good quality, yes they are more expensive but you get what you pay for.
This item was a replacement for my original 8 inch strainer, which had a weld break between the handle and the basket. The new one is significantly less substantial. Less metal, and generally seems to be less sturdy. I hope it will function satisfactory, but the original seems to be better built.
Received warranty replacement of strainer that separated at handle. Appreciated the prompt replacement of the original strainer. Encourages me to continue to replace all my kitchen utensils with OXO products.
