I bought the Ozito cordless 165mm saw yesterday and spent the day cutting up sheets of 19mm structural ply. What a brilliant tool, amazing for the price. For some of the cuts I switched to a 40 tooth blade. With gentle pressure this saw cut through the ply like butter, and with the 40T blade and correct depth setting made a very nice finish. I'm so happy with this purchase.

Beyond disappointed... Don't get me wrong, it's built well, it looks good, it feels comfortable, it's quiet when in use, but the actual saw... Useless!! I use the saw with the 5.2ah battery, so plenty of power, but the saw cuts-out when under load, even when cutting pine!! I'm really disappointed because the Ozito PXC drills I have are great!! Now, as terrible as the saw is, when it came to returning the saw, the staff were amazing, simply asked why I was returning it and offered to either replace the saw or a store voucher to buy something else.1/10 for the circular saw10/10 for the Bunnings staff

The blade it comes with struggles cutting structural pine. There are 3 different type blades with various number of teeth you can buy separately. Get the one with the least amount of teeth and it will cut through structural timber like butter. The blade it comes with is mid range.

Bought this small cordless saw recently. I was after a light cordless saw for trimming jobs to size. Bonus of this saw is the cast baseplate with a 16mm groove ideal for making a easy track saw guide. Starts gently and cuts ply up to 19mm easily. Better than the Milwaulkee equivalent. $99. Blade needs replacing.
I am right handed and appreciate the chippings being thrown out away from me. Sure you can get tools with the motor the other side but that's personal choice as much as anything (see many YT vids discussing if care). This one does the job and keeps doing it.It's a framing type option, not a fine work thing if there is such a thing in skill saw land anyway. For usual types of wood quick cutting, this comes out a fair bit. For very serious thin veneers use an expensive thin veneer blade on a dedicated table saw or you might get away with a lesser tool and a great blade if go easy and use painter's tape (at your own risk all of that). Any hard wood that needs a fine finish is more specialist anyway than the stock blades with just about any tool. For the money this ... I would need to borrow from son that larger one anyway, but this is just a simple fine option.................
Bought this circular saw as I thought it would be a good middle ground. Should have just paid the extra to get the 184mm saw. This 165mm does not have enough guts to cut through almost anything. I have tried changing the blade to a handful of other brands to see if that was the issue, but no. Maybe its because it isn't brushless? Either way just get the bigger saw
The quietest saw I could find, also happens to be the cheapest which is nice. Measuring in around 82db, compared to 104 for my ozito corded track saw. Makes a massive difference when working in an apartment, the shop vac is louder.Quality control is not great, the base Appeared to be warped. When sitting on a flat surface the saw would rock, like a table with 1 leg slightly longer than the other 3. Checking the display stock in Bunnings and they were all like that. Even the smaller one and the brushless. Instead of returning it I lapped it down flat on some sandpaper, you can see in the photos, it wasn't warped but the base had 2 large high spots causing the rock. About 30minutes later, I now have a flat base.
Purchased this morning and put straight to work.Amazing little machine for the serious DIY'er.Could have used a 40T blade but that's just me. Another addition to the Ozito PXC range at home, with a 5 year warranty you simply cannot go wrong.TIP: Always try your new tool on some scrap material to ensure it is doing what it's meant to, they don't always work straight out of the box.
I wanted a manageable size Circ Saw for small hobby DIY jobs and was very happy when I took this out of the box. It was a perfect size. I use mine mainly to cut Plywood and Pine and it cuts like butter. The angle cut works well but sometimes the guard wont move off the blade due to the angle but still workable. Would highly recommend. I had no confidence using a Circ saw - they freak me out a bit but after using this a couple of times I started looking for things to cut just for the heck of it - its addictive once you get going.
Bought new to cut some ply sheet, blade wandered all over, discovered the spindle bearing had so much slop there was nearly 4mm of movement sideways at blade tips. Took it back thinking it was a faulty item, but the new items on the shelf were the same. Just crap, and dangerous - sloppy wandering blades can jam, kick back and severely injure the user. Bunnings swapped it for a bare skin 165mm which has a much better spindle, but werentl the least bit interested in the safety aspects of selling dangerous products. So good customer service for me, but a great danger to anyone doing any sort of plywood or thin material work.
