A comfortable computer chair but it ends there!

I have had a heavy duty office chair which lasted more than 15 years which was one of many surplus chairs given away from a call centre where I worked. Once it wore out, I fell into the trap of buying a cheap special chair. Functional but it lacked support so I decided to invest in quality again. Impressed with the demo model on display of the Pago Matrix medium heavy duty black computer chair, I made my purchase in January 2023. Within a month, the comfort level didn't change, but the amount of movement and noise did. I couldn't sit in the chair and even shift my weight slightly without the chair clunking and creaking like there was something seriously wrong with it. Not liking noisy office chairs, I returned it with the receipt and the store gladly exchanged it ... MoreI have had a heavy duty office chair which lasted more than 15 years which was one of many surplus chairs given away from a call centre where I worked. Perfectly quiet on day one, day two and it is already beginning to make some tell tale noises like it will head the same way as the first one did. If I have to take it back there will not be a third replacement. This is not a good run. Not even the cheap chair was noisy, it was just uncomfortable.

A lot of movement & noise when sifting your weight

Once assembled, the parts seem I'll fitted given the amount of noise generated when shifting your weight in the chair. Shouldn't be making metal clicking noises and wobble as much as it does. It's like everything is clicking into place for the first time, but it's all the time. I feel like I'm breaking the chairs every time I move.Should be able to handle 85 kg easily. Purchased 5 of these chairs, 2 are a lot better than the other 3. On a positive note, I found the chairs comfortable and easy to assemble.

I bought this chair on Friday 16th April 2021 being a seasoned office worker for many years before retirement ten years ago. My expensive 23 year old typist chair failed at last, much to my regret, and I was forced to find a new chair for my office at home. I was determined to make sure I found the right chair, knowing that the old style of typist chair is the only way to successfully touch-type quickly and with ease, no arms in the way and a bonus having the ergonomic back bulge which my old chair did not have.Thank goodness I came across this chair at Officeworks. It took a little getting used to as I have not had a bulge in the back of my chair before but now I find that sitting into it takes the strain off my back that I sometimes experienced in the past. I found the trick is to sit well into the seat and push my back into the high back and relax into it. Brilliant! Takes all the strain off the middle of my back and shoulder blades. It is comfortable, easy to type from at my desk which has the keyboard on a dropped down shelf and, as everybody attests to in these Reviews, so very comfortable. If you are planning to buy a chair that works and will serve you well you cannot go past this brilliant chair.Well done Pago - I should have bought a new chair before but only on being forced to do so, as the gas lever on my chair broke and could not be fixed, did I venture out of my comfort zone and buy a replacement. There were in fact only two of this kind left locally so meant to be! I drove all the way from the first store, where I saw a display chair but no stock to purchase, to another store that had two in order not to miss my opportunity. Glad I did.So don't hesitate and buy with confidence. So - my advice - don't hesitate to buy this chair without reservation or worry. It is excellent.

Back Pain (Not suitable for person over 80kg)

Listed as a heavy duty chair, I believe this description is false. Foam is sub-standard and does not provide any real cousin even after 1 hour of use. Cost cutting can be felt everywhere from design of back rest to the missing tilt lever for the chair. Chair base faces down to the ground and you do not sit level which would be a more comfortable position.

Excellent Quality & Function

I bought mine in Feb but had an issue and pago & officeworks organised a return. Then i ordered my replacement. This is my first Ergo /pago chair.i have had other 'office' chairs before. now i know its worth extra cost for ergoi also bought arms separately since i wasn't sure if i would need themfor now im using without arm rest. The best way to use without arm rest is to position your chair and desk correctly and sit in the chair properly with your butt to back of seat. this way the chair supports you and won't need arm rest. but thats just a tip i read and have found true.I'm able to work longer hours and feel less fatigued because im sitting correctly.the chair has the functions/levers to position just right. you need those proper function so you can ... MoreI bought mine in Feb but had an issue and pago & officeworks organised a return. Then i ordered my replacement. This is my first Ergo /pago chair.i have had other 'office' chairs before. now i know its worth extra cost for ergoi also bought arms separately since i wasn't sure if i would need themfor now im using without arm rest. The best way to use without arm rest is to position your chair and desk correctly and sit in the chair properly with your butt to back of seat. this way the chair supports you and won't need arm rest. but thats just a tip i read and have found true.I'm able to work longer hours and feel less fatigued because im sitting correctly.the chair has the functions/levers to position just right. you need those proper function so you can adjust perfect to you.The seat is little 'firm' however, if its too soft i think you would feel too relaxed and not focus. But honestly its not an issue.i really like this chair. its best for my entry level budget. For my home businessany issues you have pago are prompt and helpful

I think I can sit on this chair for 8 hours
10 October 2022

I got this chair last weekend, and so far I am loving it. It is very comfortable to sit, the back is adjustable to the position that I want (or let it freely move), and the height is a lot better (and higher) than my previous chair.3 things that I like about the chair:1. comfortable and thick cushion for the chair and the back2. adjustable back and height, plus tilt (yes it can tilt forward)3. Height adjustable back (you can adjust the height of the back)The chair come with 15 years warranty and I hope I do not need to use it but is always good peace of the mind knowing the company backed their product! Thanks Pago!

Initially confusing!

I just bought this chair from Wilson after the helpful guy took it to the counter for me. I am completely unco with furniture assembly. Having said that I have sat on office chairs in offices for 20+ years.I followed the generic picture instructions then sat on it- only to find the front of the seat was angled forward and the tiniest amount of lean on the mesh at the backrest, made it completely move.Ugh!I watched the video tutorial and the lady had screws and washers- ugh!I didn’t have any in my box after checking 3 times and the front of the box says ‘no tools assembly’- ugh!I called the store and got the same helpful guy on the phone.Every office chair I’ve ever sat on has the seat tilt being activated by releasing the lever then pushing it up to lock ... MoreI just bought this chair from Wilson after the helpful guy took it to the counter for me. Is It Really This Easy?
26 November 2021

Instructions on the webpage stated estimated assembly time is 15 mins. I was done in 5. I thought that maybe I had missed something, as furniture is NEVER this easy to put together. This chair has classic looks and appears as basic office fair. However, is very comfortable and adjustable. Great lumbar support, I can sit comfortably in this for hours on end. The seat cushion is also supportive and thick. Comes in other colours but I went with black as it is classic and I intend to have this chair longer than some of my other office furniture.I am very happy with this purchase. It has an extensive warranty as well which is reassuring.I highly recommend this chair if you want something that is actually comfortable for all-day use, and durable enough to last years.

Uncomfortable rubbish
24 August 2022

Bought two of these and regret not spending a bit more to get something decent. They are made well enough, but the back moves, so it never really feels as though you are being supported. The lumbar support is non existent and you end up sliding your butt down the seat and just having the back pressing on your mid back. So you have no contact in the lower back area and the back part of the chair pushing on your mid back because the back part moves back and forth. A a waste of money
