We've had our Panasonic convection microwave for over a month now and are very happy with it. It replaced a 21 year old Smeg so a lot has changed in that time. Happy with my purchase at this stage.

Pros - A very flexible cooking device (multifunction)- I have had great results using the Convection oven for casseroles etc. The results have been very tender and the flavour has been full, not lost due to long cooking times (as can happen in a slow cooker)- Have been able to cook my Sourdough bread using the steam function with Convection Oven with great success. - Easy to clean- Oven trays are provided - The manual/recipe guide book will become your cooking bible it is fairly comprehensive. Just wish it had an index at the back.- Fairly easy to 'dial in' what you want on the keypad.- It does what it needs to do and that is cook food and it does it well.- I am happy with it and enjoy cooking/baking with it. It bakes, grills, steams and microwaves. You can combine the functions or just the function on it's own. I have been really pleased with the results of my cooking. We use it pretty much everyday in almost every meal.Observations - It steams up alot, this is without steam function, just normal Microwave even Convection Oven function. Although to me this is not so much of a problem as it makes it really easy to clean after each use. I just thought I would write it so others were aware.- You need to use the oven trays provided as normal trays will be to big.- Don't leave the oven trays in when using the microwave... not that I have done this.Cons (these aren't biggies... just wanted to post an honest review, that provides awareness)- The fan can be noisy as it cools down. I don't notice it, but others in my family do.- It has many functions, which is great, but it takes some adjustment. If you are use to using your oven and microwave at the same time to cook 2 separate things, you just won't be able to. You need to plan meals to take into account you can't have a microwave and an oven at the same time. Fortunately I have a stovetop doing things the old way probably isn't a bad thing.- It takes a bit to learn how to use it, so many functions/options. I have had this for a month now and I am still learning. In the beginning I just used the microwave and oven functions, as it is a lot to get your head around. - The lighting in it isn't awesome, it's enough, but only just enough. - I keep jamming my fingers when I take the steam tray out. Just a warning that you have to be careful where you put your fingers when removing the tray.- Looks wise it is fine, just not so keen on black... but really not a big issue.- For some reason rice takes forever to cook in the microwave... I don't know why, but I have returned to the stovestop to cook my rice.- Oh last one, the Convection Oven is hotter towards the back of the oven. I don't find this much of an issue for me, but some may find this annoying. I always rotate my food in the oven as many ovens don't evenly cook.

Love this 4 in 1 machine, with the assistance of microwave, grill steam and convection traditional methods are enhanced. The major drawbacks are the lights are too small and can’t get through the dark glasses especially when steaming. Secondly, the manual mentions to use your glass tray to receive the dripping from the grill tray when doing microwave-grill-convection or other microwave included methods, but one can hardly find a perfectly fit glass tray and therefore can’t avoid glazing at the oven bottom especially after roasting whole chicken. I wish I could buy the Panasonic glass tray like those included in the Asian version of this machine.

This replaced an older Sanyo 3-in-1 microwave/convection/grill and i can honestly say it is worth the high spend. We've used it for 3 out of the 4 functions so far and all have cooked far better than its predecessor (much more even). Keep in mind however that the depth of this device is a bit misleading as the depth in the specifications on the website includes the handle at the front. If i hadn't looked at the manual and noticed that, i would unfortunately have to pass up on the device. You do need some room at the back for airflow but the device has a cooling function to reduce temperature. The three included trays are fantastic and the lack of a rotating glass plate is great for odd shaped plates.

Having had the panasonic predecessor to this machine but never quite getting round to using it fully, and then giving it away to mt daughter-in-law when they moved out I wasnt quite sure this was the right choice. How wrong I was. Currently we have no oven at home as we are in the middle of kitchen renovations for the next 10 weeks. Ive already cooked a full roast lamb lunch for guests including Yorkshire puddings roast potatoes and veggies all the trimmings no problem. I've baked mince pies, steamed dim sims, no problem. As there is only me and my other half we dont need the big oven. Coupled with our airfryer, we seem sorted. I Just feel sad I didn't get the most out of the earlier version but I'm teaching my daughter-in-law how she can use the original one more. ... MoreHaving had the panasonic predecessor to this machine but never quite getting round to using it fully, and then giving it away to mt daughter-in-law when they moved out I wasnt quite sure this was the right choice. A month outside of the one year warranty it’s not working. Had to take it to a repair place designated which was about 40 k’s out of Sydney Central. First had to have serious words with them about the fact that it’s broken down as they wouldn’t get it fixed since it was technically out of warranty I’ll be at by one month. It was repaired but now another year later it has stopped working again so within 2 1/2 years of buying it it has to be replaced as I was told they would not repair it a second time. Issues: it does not cool down sufficiently even microwaving something for one minute is enough to leave moisture residue on the glass door panel that never evaporates and needs to be wiped. The cooking in the convection part is fine. It doesn’t however have the intuitive functionality that the bush does where you can pop in some salmon punch in what it is into the panel and it decides how long to cook it for and does so perfectly! With the Panasonic you need to tell her exactly how long. For the price would not recommend whatsoever and absolutely wouldn’t recommend considering the trouble.

This is a beautiful oven. After having my original Panasonic microwave for over 20 years, this was a bit of a treat. I'm still learning how to use it. The manual isn't a quick read. I was a little surprised at the amount of steam it builds up internally. But it cooks quickly and so far everything has come out perfectly. It would be helpful if there were more detailed training videos on how to use it. And I'm still waiting for the bonus cookbook to arrive. But highly recommend investing that little bit more for a quality all in one product.

The Microwave to beat all else

Microwaves, defrosts, reheats, cooks, grills, bakes.and i think it even does a perfect dovetail woodworking joint! Sick unit that does the job at 1000watts with an inverter (precise reheat and defrost cycles). Take out all the metal trays for microwave mode. Put back any or all of the trays in convection oven mode. Its matt black outside and stainless steel inside so you know its not gonna rust after a year.Only complaint is that you cant hit the start button multiple times to increment by 30secs like most other Microwaves. But SO WHAT! I can bake a cake in my microwave! My neighbours are all jealous now and thats the way it needs to stay with this bad boy.

Wait until you make Roast Potatoes ...
16 June 2022

Had been researching for awhile - definitely looking at adding 'steam function' to my baking, however hadn't really considered a standalone unit, rather as a feature of a brand new built in oven. Ours is tired and I wanted to be ready. However when I looked at the size of the meals I bake, it became patently clear that the standard oven (at 3000W) was far more than we needed to be heating up every day ($$$). While this unit is pricey, I can see how it's already saving us daily dollars. And it cooks all my 'staples' sourdough, brioche, potatoes/squash, microwave rice, baked/roasted pork roast and whole chicken - low and slow style - to perfection. Yes, it's a tad noisy given the fan action but you'll soon get used to that. Love it!

This product has by far outshone my expectation. I cant bake for nuts, but the peanut and chocolate baked cheesecake that I found in the accompanying booklet came out perfect!I also had bought a leg of lamb that I meant to roast in the oven part, however time got away from me and I was left with only a half hour to present this for dinner. I ended up unrolling the roast, and fried both sides in garlic butter and rosemary until it was golden brown. Use low heat. I then finished it off in the microwave on 800 watt for 10 minutes. The lamb was the most melt in the mouth meat I had ever had! No lie.If you are thinking of buying it, do it!
