After having/using them for several months, Ive been very happy with them. I started with the quick charger and several batteries. They recharge quickly, hold the charge well, and the charger will charge from one to four at a time. My kids use them in their xBox remotes, and we have them in TV remotes, camera flashes, flashlights, and other equipment throughout the house. Eventually I plan to switch over 100% to rechargables, as these are performing well, and I dont have to buy disposable batteries every month. I considered the Pro version of these, but due to the higher cost, and fewer number of expected cycles, Im better off with the regular Eneloops. In scenarios where I need a lot of power, such as camera flashes, I always carry a second set (or more) so the regular Eneloops are fine for me.

Its frustrating that In this day and age of AI (artificial intelligence), robotics, & Teslas on the verge of going 500 miles between charges they still havent figured out how to make a 1.5 volt AA rechargeable battery. The highest charge I can get is 1.34 volts even after leaving them in the charger for 3 days. 1.34 volts, however, is good since the batteries are rated at 1.2 volts. FYI, I get 1.44 volts out of Eneloops AAA rechargeable batteries but compare that to an output of 1.5 volts from non-rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries in general seem to lose their charge quicker than non-rechargeable batteries when in use. These work great, last a long time between charges - as good as any alkaline Duracell or Energizer battery available in AA or AAA sizes, they don't leak when discharged, and they can be recharged 1000's of times. The only AA or AAA disposable batteries that I buy any more are the Energizer Ultimate Lithium (not Energizer's "Advanced" lithium)because they handle the cold here in Minnesota better than the Eneloop batteries so that is what I use in my car's flashlight batteries. After about 10 to 15 years of using lithium batteries and almost eight of using Eneloop rechargeables, I can say that Energizer Ultimate lithium and Eneloop AA and AAA batteries almost never leak as I have yet to see a leak in either kind. So, if you are done wasting money by buying alkaline batteries so that you can throw them away in a year or two or less, and are tired of batteries leaking, do as I do. Buy Eneloop batteries in AA or AAA sizes and lithium AA or AAA 1.5 V batteries for uses in cold conditions. Buy Silver oxide instead of alkaline coin cells. These also leak much less often as I have never seen them leak. (I use Energizer silver oxide coin cells typically purchased on eBay.) The Alkaline number is typically an AG number with a silver oxide matching number such as SR. Make sure the actual product is listed as silver oxide as a lot of shady sellers list alkaline numbers as equivalent, they may work for a little while but do not last a decade or more in very limited use without leakage.

The only batteries that make sense to buy
14 June 2015

I have learned that in all planning for potential future emergency situations, the most logical and useful is to ensure that you are able to provide yourself with light when it is dark, and communications with your family and the outside world via electronics like walkie-talkies, ham radios, cell phones, and laptops. I have standardized on electronics that can be powered by combinations of batteries and adapters, and have settled on AA rechargeable batteries as the format of choice. If you have gear that can be powered by AAs, and if you have a good stockpile of AAs and a solar charger, you are set FOREVER. You never know when you are going to need this system, which though not expensive anyhow, will pay for itself with its first use when needed. So I have invested in lots of Eneloop AA batteries, which have far and away the best shelf life (other batteries drain quickly and are always almost dead when you need them), and they can be recharged over 2000 times. When you think about that, it means you can recharge them every single day for 5 years, and they will still be good. In reality, you will never come close to half of that -- so you virtually have an eternal power source on hand and you will never have to worry about it again. Just buy LOTS (several dozen)of Eneloops, get a small solar charger (mine is 6 inches square, and can charge 4 batteries in a four hours), and you are set. I would highly recommend you go with the brand on this one -- I have bought lots of discount, knockoff and other cheap batteries, and have always been disappointed. They don't hold a charge, and sometimes don't work at all. The reason you are getting batteries in the first place is that you have to count on them in an emergency. Pay more, get Eneloops, and your worries are over.

These are great batteries but don't buy them from Diddly Deals here at Target

I received a small yellow envelope today. It did not contain these batteries I ordered. Instead it contained a JVC headphone for Apple products, of which I own NONE. Not sure how you can make that mistake. The headphones don't look anything like a box of batteries and they weigh a LOT less.

These are made well. No complaints other than the battery chemistry itself, Ni-MH just is not very powerful and it doesn't hold its charge that well. Good replacement for cheap alkaline batteries. They will save you money every charge cycle.I also use the Pro version of these, and they are not much better, just more expensive. Buy these instead, or maybe look for a better solution for high power, critical gear.

27 September 2023

I have used these for several years now off and on for GPS units and other household electronics. No problems so far and they have a comparable capacity to regular batteries so its a very economic choice to spend a bit more on rechargeable batteries considering that they can be reused 100s of times. The hardest part of owning them is keeping track of them over the years but buying some form of battery organizer is very useful to they are not simply floating round in the drawers.

19 February 2021

A few years ago I realized how much I was spending buying new packs of disposable AA batteries for the household. I purchased my first Eneloop charger/AA combo pack to try them. They were great, and I have since purchased several new batches of batteries; everything in the house--remotes, game controllers, flashlights, camera flashes--has been switched over to rechargeable Eneloops (AA and AAA). The original Eneloops are still going strong (I dated each batch, so I know how long they work/last.) My only wish is that Panasonic Eneloops could be purchased in C & D sizes. (I know they have the C/D adapters, but I'd prefer the capacity of the larger ones instead of the AAs with adapters.)

[Rewarded Review] Long term reliable
28 December 2023

I have been buying Eneloop batteries for more than a decade. Out of the dozens of batteries I have purchased only a single (and 10 years old!) battery has ever gone bad on me. The quality and reliability has been amazing and makes them a worth it. Even my 10 year old batteries still give me over 1700mah usable capacity after all the years and hundreds of cycles based on my charger’s charging metrics.
