My father is 93 and has hearing aids. I've gone through several types of phones all with no luck when I decided to research "phones for the hearing impaired". This was the top recommended unit so I said I'll give it a try. I have to say I'm disappointed. The hearing quality is certainly better than the regular old hand helds but not worth the price. No way in IMHO. As well, the battery lasts no where near what's stated in the literature and it had a couple fairly large scratches on it when I unpackaged. Long story short it's not worth the money. I would not repeat

I like this extension line added to the base purchased earlier. The base was pre owned, but in perfect working order. Bit of help from internet handbook used to set up base needed. Adding this extension very easy. Base and extension have small footprint. I am a senior and love the large buttons and sound adjustment buttons. Also enjoy the bright red message notification light. I get few messages, so preferred a home message setup the tells me when I get rare calls to using a phone system that I needed to check daily just to be sure not missing the few weekly messages. Sound boost great when on speaker. I am highly pleased with this Panasonic phone system.

So far I am thrilled with the Panasonic 3 Handset Amplified Cordless Phones. System came very well packed with all of the necessary components. Easy to set up and the sound is very clear. System has lots of useful features that I am learning to use. Disappointed that the handsets do not have an indicator light when they are in the cradle for charging making it difficult to locate handsets in a dark room. Otherwise I am very pleased with the system. I would definitely recommend purchasing this system.

A KX-TGMA45S has a Silver face plate (the S in the last character of the model number), not white. What I received was a KX-TGMA44W, which is White (the W in the last character of the model number). KX-TGMA44W is not compatible with a KX-TGM450 base, it is compatible with a KX-TGM440 base. What base you have determines which handset you need. Both handsets have some very nice qualities, very readable display with nice navigation, large/easy to read buttons, nice caller id log, call blocking (without the phone ringing), loud ringer, and lights that flash when the line is ringing. However, the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired. It has amplified sound with an optional Boost feature. The KX-TGMA45S has more amplification than the KX-TGMA44W. Purchased for mom. The slow speech feature works great and the audio boost is adjustable from 12db to 40db. Has a convenient rocked on side of handset to adjust boost when in boost mode. Buttons are good size. The flashing LEDs are very helpful especially when there is a voicemail, mom also has vision issues and they do get her attention. Overall I give it 5 stars and the slow speech is a function that sets this phone apart from other audio boost phones. I don't think anyone would be disappointed in purchasing this phone. I also purchased two extensions for other rooms, they function just like the base unit. Great buy for mom!
The hearing challenged features on this phone answering system are amazing. Sound 'Boost' plus voice 'slow' capabilities help those with hearing loss. The Bluetooth capabilities extend the system from rooms to the entire house and backyard. Lots of helpful age assisted features make this great upgrade to any phone system.
I bought this phone for my mother who has hearing aids and loss. Her conversations with people have improved tremendously. People don't need to repeat themselves and she can actually hear them. Highly recommend.
Everything I wanted in a phone. I can hear people that call me and they can hear me. When a message is left if people talk to fast you can slow it down so no more listening to a message 40 times to understand. I love the ring sound. Big numbers and the black on white makes it stand out. And easy to hook up
I would have given it 5 stars if it were black instead of white. The black version connects to a cell phone, and cost slightly more. I did not want the cell phone feature because I live in a cell phone "dead zone." I bought this to replace an earlier version of the same thing. The features on this phone excellent, and designed to help people who are vision and hearing impaired. I do not believe you can find find a better phone with comparable features, and the Panasonic brand is one that I have respected for many years. Keeping it clean and white is the only downside to this phone.
We were having problems with our phones regarding a constant humming noise that was so bad and so obnoxious I hated to answer the phone. Plus my husband just had open heart surgery and I was concerned if I needed help, this hum in the phone could be a real big problem. I researched different phone products and bought these Panasonics due to their excellent ratings. I'm no genius here but this phone was a breeze to set up. I was shocked at the ease and amazed I even could do it. In the end, it was not my old phones but the lines outside that needed replaced which was done by our phone company. I'm still not sorry I got the Panasonics. That call blocking feature is a God send and the hard of hearing features are perfect for my husband. He loves them too.
