I do a lot of close-up shootings, so I decided to get this lens when it was on a discounted price. I was attracted that the lens features a MEGA O.I.S. system, which compensates for the effects of camera shake for sharper hand-held shooting. It's a very useful tool to have if you do hate carrying a tripod all the time. The lens is a 60mm-equivalent prime lens designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless digital cameras. Its macro capabilities enable a minimum focusing distance of 4.1 along with a 1:1 magnification ratio for life-size imaging of nearby subjects.I am very pleased with it and you should try this lens if you love doing close up photography with your macro four thirds camera.

I prefer studio macro with a tethered camera using bellows, tube lenses, and microscope objectives. Regardless, I was curious about MFT and wanted to test the waters. I purchased an inexpensive Lumix GX85 body and this lens. The configuration is compact and makes for an easy camera system to carry around with. The lens can focus from a 1:1 magnification to infinity making it a flexible all-round lens for my type of use. As far as picture quality, I can't help but compare it to my studio images which is probably unrealistic and unfair. I would compare its sharpness to a reversed EL-Nikkor 50mm f/2.8 enlarging lens on a bellows at 1:1 magnification with a full-frame camera. Good but not great. Adorama's service and shipping speed were excellent as well. Thanks!

I bought this lens 4 or 5 years ago and always thought well of it. One day while taking pictures of old pictures instead of scanning (though it's really hard to eliminate ambient light) I tried taking photos of old 35 mm film negatives by taping them to a window for back-light. Results were impressive after applying the 'negative' filter in Photoshop. Then came the Lumix G9, which I love. Then this year (2022) a pro-photographer friend of mine (MK) loaned me Negative Supply's back light rig and negative carrier for 35 mm film that allows you to easily photograph all your negatives and while keeping them substantially flat, without scratching. This lens, combined with the G9's 40 and 80 MP high definition mode has brought new life to my 30 years of 35 mm film ... MoreI bought this lens 4 or 5 years ago and always thought well of it. I am not a professional, but this lens/camera combo blows me away. I can punch in focus and easily see film grain on 100 ISO film. I use manual focus, set the shutter on 4 sec delay, aperture at F/5.6 for great results in JPEG mode by using the natural setting, turning sharpness, contrast and noise reduction all the way off & leaving saturation in middle. Haven't experimented much more.My sample photo is a photo of a negative with this lens and G9, which itself is a photo I took with my amazing and still working Yashica T4 SuperD with its Zeiss 35 mm F/3.5 Tessar, which I bought from B & H in 1996.Ironically, this lens and the G9 are getting me back into film, I just bought a 6 x 9 folder camera. Used, because they don't make them anymore. Sigh.

The Panasonic Leica DG Elmarit 200mm F/2.8 is working just great shipped and received in a very short time. The lens is better then I thought very clear even with the 1.4 X inverter. Got a great picture of a pileated woodpecker far away hard to hold the camera steady but got it anyway. love the lens now ordering the 2.0 X inverter.
I'm just getting started with this lens, but so far I love it. In addition to being a great macro with a short minimum focus distance, it also works very well as a 60mm equiv. prime. And on my Lumix G9 camera, it enable dual stabilization, in both the lens and the camera body, enabling super-harp hand-held shots, even in lower light conditions.
I bought this lens mostly for getting macro shots of things I wanted to sell online. It has worked well and I have been very happy with the results I've gotten with my Panasonic Lumix GX85, especially using the focus stacking feature that the GX85 has.As a bonus, I've also found that this lens works well as a 30mm prime lens as well, and has good low light abilities and is very sharp at almost all apertures. Working well for portraits and street shotsI haven't found anything to criticize yet, I would highly recommend it!
I've had this lens for a couple of months and I absolutely love it. It rarely comes off my Panasonic GX85 and takes great photos from a distance as well as macro. The lens itself is very light for a prime and the photos are super sharp. It's just a lovely lens to work with on any given day and in any situation. I recently lent it to a friend who ended up buying one for herself. Highly recommend it :)
Very nice lens. Sharp, focuses well. Only complaint is using it for a long wide landscape shot. The focus was unpredictable. I guess that's why it's marketed as a macro lens. The macro function works well. I hope to use it as my medium portrait lens. I see no reason why it would not serve me well in that capacity. Here's a shot of a dead cicada which was stuck to my stucco exterior. Look at the detail on the wings. Impressive. I was about a 3 feet away.
This is a 200 mm lens f/2.8 that is very sharp and fast, even with the 1.4X teleconverter. This would be the equivalent of a 400 mm f/2.8 lens for a full frame camera (or equivalent to a 560 mm f/4 when the teleconverter is used) at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent full frame lens! There is also an optional 2X teleconverter available. Can lens be very easily hand held (providing a good technique) due to the internal stabilization system that can be paired to the Camera stabilization system. This represent a 6.5 stop of stabilization when used with the Lumix 9G body.Furthermore, there is a programmable button on the lens barrel that is very handy (I use it for auto-focus and remove the auto focus on the shutter button). There is also a programmable focal ... MoreThis is a 200 mm lens f/2.8 that is very sharp and fast, even with the 1.4X teleconverter. This f stop ring can be use to any f stop, overriding the camera (manual) or could be set to "auto" for the camera to take over. With such a low f/stop, this is an excellent telephoto lens to use in low light condition.I would highly recommend this lens to any serious photographer, especially for birds and wildlife photography.
The images with this lens are very sharp. I enjoy macro photography, typically flowers. I typically use manual focus and this lens has a feature where the amount the focus changes depends on the speed you turn the focus ring. I've read reviews of people who don't like that feature, but I do like it. You can get close to the correct focus very fast and then turn the ring slowly for final focus. Combined with focus peaking it works great. I'm using this with an Olympus EM-1 mk ii and focus bracketing. I process the stack of images on the computer using other software. The only thing I don't like about this lens and I can't seem to change with any settings is that the lens diaphragm closes and opens for every photo during a stack. The only thing I don't like about this lens and I can't seem to change with any settings is that the lens diaphragm closes and opens for every photo during a stack. I often shoot a stack of 30 images and the lens diaphragm will close to take the photo, then open again as the lens is micro focused for the next image. You hear a slight chattering sound as the diaphragm closes and opens very fast for each image. With my Olympus lens the lens diaphragm closes down and stays closed while the whole stack of images is captured. It takes extra time to open and close the diaphragm and I'm concerned that this puts unnecessary wear and tear on the mechanism. So far it hasn't been a problem. Some people complain that you have to get too close to the lens at 1:1. But 1:1 on a Micro Four-thirds camera represents a subject width of only 17 mm. I usually don't shoot that small in the field. I would say 30 mm is a more typical size for me in the field. So far after using it for over a month with hundreds of macro photos I haven't noticed any problems with limited lens to subject distance.
