This is a fist full of technology and a super zoom includedwhat a camera, you can leave it on the Ai setting and let it work for you or you can delve into its menus and play away. Capable of outstanding 4K vido and 4K pictures from its uncomplicated 4K picture burst. Not for a beginner this is a semi professional Bridge that is feature packed and affordableremember this camera is sold by Leica for treble the price and is exactly the same camera. Likes: practicality, feature packed,480mm lens, battery life and 4K movies. Dislikes: not waterproof so be careful in anything other than light rain. Buy one I did and dont regret a minute.

I have owned previous Panasonic FZ models previous to this one as they have always been a great compromise between image quality, user friendliness and value for money. It is much smaller than an equivalent dslr or most compact system cameras with a similar specification lens.I have found the image quality to be very good with its 1" sensor, fast zoom lens and 20 mp sensor. It is responsive with quick shutter times, a good wide angle and many mode options. It arrived from CEX in very good condition, promptly and with a warranty, very reassuring .All in all an excellent purchase.

There are many professional reviews of this outstanding Bridge camera , so I shall be brief. If you are thinking of given up your DSLR temporarily or permanently, then you will want to know you have a camera that has similar or better capabilities. If you are moving up from a compact but do not want the bother of multiple lenses, then this is still a wise choice. It has all the looks, and functions of a decent DSLR with the same options for varying degrees of manual control. Then of course you need a high quality lens with a range that does away with the need for multiple lenses. You have it here. Combine that with a 1" sensor and you are assured of the possibility of high end images. Of course they may not always be 'top notch' but that is also your responsibility! ... MoreThere are many professional reviews of this outstanding Bridge camera , so I shall be brief. I use the camera for street photography and particularly when I am hiking, walking etc. I would not think of going back to a DSLR. Whilst you might be able to afford a range of professional lenses you would also have to make sure you have them all with you and 'on' at a moments notice. I reckon I get more shots now, as I always have the 'right' lens. Finally, many people buy this because of its reputation for exceptional 4K Video quality. This has been commented on elsewhere. I however cannot comment as I simply never use it for video. So, one more very positive review for this exceptional camera.

I am impressed with this camera. It takes good quality photos and there is plenty of functionality. It works very similarly to a micro 4/3 LUMIX camera I have and so is easy to use. The zoom is smooth and the inbuilt filters give a good range of options. It also takes standard 52 mm optical filters, if you want to enhance your kit. It is also light like making it a good travel camera.
I bought this camera to take on holiday instead of my pro gear as has everything I need in a camera, unfortunately the menu system is far too complicated even for a experienced photographer like myself, it must be a nightmare for a novice. Also the included short manual is also poor, no index at all so you have to go page by page until you find what you are looking for. But apart from that the camera itself is brilliant, great zoom, excellent picture quality.
This was a birthday present and I am still getting the hang of all the possibilities with the camera. I have mastered the “point and shoot” but need to be able to use all the features. It’s an excellent camera the lens and unit are brilliant. It also has WiFi so you can send photos to phone or computer. The instruction book is long and complicated and requires concentration. Like most people I read the manual as a last resort. Anyway a good camera and I’m very pleased with it.
Personally, I believe this to be the best camera I have ever had. I have belonged to a camera club and taken a keen interest in photography for many years. The result is I love to be able to carry one camera, which covers most of my photographic interests rather than lugging around a tripod and various lenses and filters. Having replaced an FZ200 with the FZ330 I feel reasonably at home with this model as it has the same brilliant lens. As I would expect, this camera has more features and the layout has been improved. I do mean improved because there are features on the 200 that are often annoying. The only issue I have is that due to 330's age it will not work with my Windows 10 PC. Having tried to use Panasonics work around this failed to work. No great issue but ... MorePersonally, I believe this to be the best camera I have ever had. Having tried to use Panasonics work around this failed to work. No great issue but having Wi-Fi fitted is a bit of a waste of time for me. The best part is the quality of the results and the opportunity to get around most lighting conditions. Having had this camera for a short while I have not been able to test it under all conditions that I am likely to use it under. I would only recommend a camera like this to someone who actually knows how a camera works and come to terms with all the hidden features behind all the programs that are available. You need a good memory to remember where all the features are hidden. If you cannot be bothered to dive into all corners of the manual, I would not recommend this camera. For me it is great.
This is my third bridge camera, after a Kodak p880 (which died after 2 1/2 years) and a Fuji HS10, which i still use occasionally. Some major advantages of the FZ1000 over the previous 2 are:1. Excellent eye-level viewfinder. It works even in bright sunlight and has good adjustment for short-sightedness.2. Tiltable lcd screen.3. Faster response when shutter button pressed, essential for photographing grandchildren.5. indication in viewfinder of when camera is horizontal,6. Excellent video with option of very high quality uncompressed sound with manual level setting. The one caveat is that a previous FZ1000 developed sporadic sound problems and then died after about five years. This might be a result of having been repaired during the 2 year warranty period ... MoreThis is my third bridge camera, after a Kodak p880 (which died after 2 1/2 years) and a Fuji HS10, which i still use occasionally. Good Points: I read numerous reviews about this camera before buying it. One statement sticks out that this camera makes amature photos look like they were taken by a pro. This is definitely true. The image quality from the 1 inch sensor (read up about this vs a standard one) is superb. The automatic function is one of the best I have used and I have used it to take some brilliant shots of family on holiday, animals on safari and food. The zoom is more than sufficient for most ordinary scenarios, it took some amazing pics of rhinos under a tree that we could barely see without binos. I know some might simply look at the zoom range on the lense but be assured this camera matches many with far greater zoom but smaller sensors. It also comes with a plethora of ... MoreGood Points: I read numerous reviews about this camera before buying it. I took a number of pics of Weaver birds at full zoom using multi shot with terrific results. It also works great for family action pics, just hold the button and it keeps taking pics.In spite of what you might read re max memory card size I use a 400gb card in mine with no issues. All in all a camera for beginners up to pros.Improvement Points: No a complaint as I had handled this in the shop, but be aware it is a large camera. Easily the size of many dslr's.
I purchased this a few weeks ago when I found my increasing years was making it difficult to carry my DSLR system any great distance. I thought moving on to a bridge camera would allow me carry on with my photography, albeit with a possible loss of quality. The realty has been very different, not only is the quality still there, the zoom lens on this camera has allowed me to take some shots I would never have taken, despite carrying a couple of long, and heavy lenses. What's, more I have gained the ability to produce 4K videos, something I have never done in the past. The FZ330 really is a breath of fresh air, light and small but still large enough to feel comfortable in use, it has opened up a whole new aspect into my photography.
