Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Body (Black)

I bought my G85 in 2019 and it's been a workhorse. While a Four Thirds sensor isn't going to give you the image quality of a full frame sensor, it's been more than adequate for my work. I also own a ZS70, which is a much better camera than my older ZS40.Each service ran about 25 minutes. I used this rig every week from late March until late June.Subsequently, I installed a PTZ camera and streaming system, but for a couple of services, I connected a Micro HDMI / HDMI cable to the G85 and fed that into the streaming system, outputting 1080p/60. No issues with any of the viewfinder OSD graphics appearing on the video output, as it would with the G85 and my wife's Sony a6000.Highly recommend this camera. It's been a workhorse and never let me down.When the pandemic hit, I was asked by a local church if I could shoot video of the Sunday service in advance, edit it, and post online for distanced viewing. I set up the G85 on one tripod with the 14-140mm lens, the ZS70 on another (it has a 30x optical zoom), and a Canon Vixia I had lying around on a third tripod. I would start all the cameras (each shooting 1280x720 HD video) plus a TASCAM DR-40x recorder connected to the church's house audio system.

After using it for about 2 months, I can say that this is a great camera for the price. It is great for stills and for videos. Picture quality does not leave me wanting, and the flip out screen is a nice touch. The intelligent auto mode is great for when you don't want to think too hard and just wanna get shots. And the manual video mode is great for dialing in the look you want.The continuous autofocus isn't perfect, but it is definitely convenient coming from a BMPCC4K with no autofocus at all. I also really like the Wi-Fi picture transfers and remote control (which has a live monitor).My only complaints are that it doesn't do great in low light, and that the focus before snapping a still is sometimes slow.All in all, I'm really happy I bought this camera. ... MoreAfter using it for about 2 months, I can say that this is a great camera for the price. I did a lot of research on this camera, You-Tube videos, on line reviews and the B&H site. Looked like a great camera but there was always that element of sounds too good. After using it for a couple of weeks I'm impressed. The dreaded slow focus wasn't a big deal this camera, it locked in quickly. When it did hunt it was no worse than my Nikon in the same conditions. Solid performer for nature walks, the lighter weight is a blessing. A special thanks to the packing by B&H, the carrier beat up the box but the camera wasn't damaged. Air bags and bubble wrap save the day.
