The LX10 performs nearly as well as my G9 in low-light, high ISO situations. I suppose it's to be expected (given the sensor has only a 2.7x crop factor, vs m43's 2x), but JPGs straight out of camera retain an astonishing amount of detail with very little grain. Video is excellent in 4k30, but lacks stabilization. Quality is also very good in 1080p, which does offer stabilization. Auto focus performance in video is, well, as expected for a CDAF system. Best in 1080p.The display is bright, and to be honest I don't miss the EVF. It's just not that type of camera.The focal length of 24-72mm (equiv) is perfect - just a little extra over your standard 50mm. The macro focusing mode is very useful, and allows close focus to around 3cm at the wide end.All in all, I couldn't be happier, and highly recommend this little beast!

What a great little camera! Love the features. Though I wish it had an EVF it has everything else I need at at almost half the cost of some comparable cameras. Plus, the size is small enough that I can take it anywhere and always have it on me, unlike my film SLRs. A great companion, and a good camera when I'm not shooting film.

Great camera! I was in desperate need of a compact yet powerful camera which can fit in my pocket since I'm tired of the trash iPhone camera deteriorating after 2 years. Obviously my DSLR is too cumbersome for day-to-day use or travelling so this offered the perfect solution. Image quality is impressive and just what I was looking for. I have been a Canon user for about 15 years and was hesitant to switch brands but decided to pull the trigger after watching reviews of this model on YouTube and weighing the pros + cons. The only thing I've found frustrating thus far is how confusing the process is of transferring images directly to your smartphone via wifi but once you finally figure it out it's an incredibly convenient feature.
I love this camera so much that after the first one was destroyed by the dust in the front element (in that I tried to open it and fix it myself) I bought another one, thinking that I could protect it better than the first. As a professional photographer, this camera takes beautiful photos in environments that my large DSLRs (D810 and 1Dx) would not be appropriate (i.e. scenarios as a photo journalist that would bring unnecessary attention to documentary work). Not only does the camera blend into its environment, the photo quality is beautiful with a natural grain that does not have a 'watercolor' look from smaller sensors. It is fast, silent, and can capture family shots during on road travel. However, there is an annoying 'warp' (i.e. rolling shutter) to the photos at 24mm during fast motion in the photographer's frame of reference (not the subject's frame of reference) when holding the camera. Let's hope that Panasonic will release a Mark II version of this model.

It’s just small enough to keep handy and I can capture anything I want with that super zoom as I slowly work my way up to being an ACTUSL photographer... or so I thought. My primary motivation for getting an advanced point and shoot is video. I have kids in sports and theater, new grandchildren... Would have liked to have a setting that sets all settings back to a customized default when camera is turned off, to do a fast reset of settings- Battery life isn't great; indicator is in thirds, and without a spare battery, I start to get conservative in use when it drops to 2/3 within an hour of casual use- Small size means it's easy to accidentally hit the LCD and inadvertently change focus point or hit on-screen buttonsCOULD GO EITHER WAYS~ The aperture ring isn't bad to have, but seems more for visual effect than easy use in RL... I would prefer a front dial under the shutter on the front of camera~ The body is slippery but just make sure to always use a wrist strap (included one does the job, but isn't adjustable)I would have been happier with a slightly larger camera to get more zoom and a viewfinder, but I'm sure Panasonic's market research shows P&S's have to be this tiny. Icons on touch screen are small, buttons on the back of the camera are almost always accidentally pressed when trying to pick up the camera. I have spent 6 hours trying to get the camera to send the photos to my phone via Bluetooth but no success. The camera will send a bunch of photos that it chooses but will not let me send the specific photos that I select. On the auto function the camera seems jumpy and too slow to respond to my pushing the button to take a picture so that most spontaneous moments are lost in the lag time between pressing the button and the camera deciding to take the picture. I'm delighted with my LX10... it's exactly the camera I needed. However, I made the mistake of buying a slightly smaller, slightly cheaper camera recommended by reliable sources. B&H sales walked me though my needs and helped me correct my poor decision.The LX!0 is perfect for doing great close-ups. It's intelligent shooting modes allow you to choose among a myriad of different types of shots and styles of photos, yet gives you a fair amount of control over f-stop, aperture, and shutter speed. As a total beginner, it has taken some time to go beyond the basics. I recommend picking up a PDF version of Photographer's Guide To Panasonic Lumix LX10 to supplement and explain the owner's manual.
