Hand made bread was great when I was a bit younger but a bit more of a chore now I’m a certain age so I’ve been looking at bread makers for ages and finally decided on this model partly because I’ve always used Panasonic microwaves and been very impressed. Having spent a couple of weeks admiring the look of the machine on my worktop and feeling slightly nervous (😁) yesterday I finally threw caution to the winds, took a deep breath and made my first loaf. Wow is my reaction !! I am in bread heaven. The 2510 is easy to use, quiet and efficient and has produced a loaf as good as I could want without any of the hard work from me. It has the Panasonic quality I expected and I just wish I’d bought this years ago. Brilliant piece of equipment. šŸ˜šŸ˜

It's just as tall but has an easy to read display. The instructions/recipe book has changed too and it's not as clear as before. Got round the small print by downloading, enlarging relevant sections and saving. The poor display and control panel is the main issue. Basic white bread turned out okay - perhaps a little too sweet as the recipe called for more sugar than I would normally use - 1 tablespoon rather than 1 teaspoon (an error perhaps?)Unfortunately the item has been used (x2) otherwise I would have returned it.A disappointing purchase only because of the design changes.

Easy to Use

If you just want an easy to use bread maker that turns out faultless bread every single time this is the machine for you. When you first take delivery it can be a be daunting as to what it can do and how many functions it has, but believe me this machine is really easy to use. I usually mix white flour with wholemeal flour so as to get a bread that I prefer, but if you just follow the book of instruction you cannot fail, wheather it be white or wholemeal bread. Light or Dark crust, its up to you, you decide. There are other options to make other types of bread but I haven't got to those yet as I'm so impressed with what I am producing I haven't got to that yet.If you want to add nuts or seeds maybe the more expensive machine is for you, but I just want good old ...Ā MoreIf you just want an easy to use bread maker that turns out faultless bread every single time this is the machine for you. When you first take delivery it can be a be daunting as to what it can do and how many functions it has, but believe me this machine is really easy to use. Bonus!

Excellent Breadmaker

I do like baking bread. When my old machine died, I baked bread in the oven, using an excellent silicone basket. However, because of the high energy cost, I decided to look at a replacement machine. This is a basic machine but has a reputation for quality results.I agree with other reviewers that the display is small, not backlit, & requires viewing from above, but unless you're very short, it is only mildly annoying, & it only takes 10 seconds to programme. My first basic white load wasn't good. I thought it hadn't risen, but realised that it had actually over-risen & collapsed. The basic programme is very long. Great breadmaker
29 June 2024

This breadmaker not only makes excellent bread it saves me so much time and energy. I used to make bread by hand but now I have arthiritis it's just not possible to do so on a regular basis. I was wary about buying a breadmaker but the bread is actually lighter and tastier than the loaves I used to make! It's quiet, efficient and so easy to use. I was surprised at how big it is but it's a small price to pay to lose a bit of worktop space for such delicious results. Another bonus is the Panasonic website has a lot more recipes than those that come with the instruction booklet.

Has beaten all my expectations!
8 February 2024

I bought our breadmaker around a month ago, after dithering for quite some time. Didn't want to end up with another "back of cupboard" gadget (along with the popcorn maker, chocolate fountain etc), Wanted great tasting bread, with no additives, and an easy to use machine. So far, having used the bread maker pretty much every day, have been more than delighted with the results! Consistently good shape & colour, great taste and a cinch to use. Have baked white, wholemeal and rye bread, plus brioche, fruit loaf & pizza dough. all spot on! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend & now a must have in our house!

Nice, but could be better

I've owned the Panasonic SD-255 and SD-254 breadmakers in the past, and both have served me well, so it didn't take me much time to decide on another Panasonic! It's early days yet, but it's produced a good basic white loaf, and some excellent pizza dough, so I look forward to equally good service in future.Yes, it's a bit taller than the old machines; the control panel is much smaller, but the information's quite readable and the controls logical enough. My main reason for not giving a full '5' rating is the lack of a decent set of recipes! Just 26 recipes compared with the 88 provided with the older machines (although it's interesting to see two jam and compote recipes absent from the old ones). The SD-255 had a further 8 recipes for rye loaves, absent in the ...Ā MoreI've owned the Panasonic SD-255 and SD-254 breadmakers in the past, and both have served me well, so it didn't take me much time to decide on another Panasonic! THINGS I LIKE ABOUT MY BREADMAKER & DESIGN IDEAS
23 February 2023

I bought this Breadmaker to replace a previous model which was still working fine, but needed a new Pan as the Non-stick had started to peel off. I was going to replace the old bread pan, but found new pan + new paddle was not much less than new machine, so bought new machine instead. I would have liked to be able to compare specs of all the machines (pan size, link to Instruction booklet as I have found my new one has a slightly smaller (lower) bread pan. I find the D shaped spindle for the paddle is annoying as it could have been square/triangular/hexagonal so that it is easy to re-fit in the darkness of our cupboard! Also the lead could have had a kettle type plug on it so that it is removable for storage. Also the lead could have had a kettle type plug on it so that it is removable for storage. My old machine has a wrap-around element & it was not easy to clean inside the bread maker 'oven'.My new machine is the same. If there is a way to incorporate the element within the walls of the 'oven' part, then cleaning out when my wife leaves the pizza dough to overflow would be a useful modification to the design! The recipe book has been helpfully edited so that it is easy to find entries, but a few links to any other information would be good. I have spent possibly a couple of years up dating the bread recipes I use & have changed the quantities listed in the Panasonic booklet to a recipe on a bread flour miller's flour bag. I shortened this to a mini spreadsheet with quantities & have increased the quantities for both white & granary mixes so that I get a bigger loaf. There have been times when my loaves used to rise to flatten on the underside of the lid!My final suggestion is that the timing function could have a button to enable me to choose the time I would like to have my loaf ready by, but the default could still be 'set number of hours' as now.

amazing for gluten free bread

I've admittedly only tried one recipe- for a white gluten free loaf found online- but the result was the best I've had, and I'm no longer buying tiny, over-priced, supermarket gf loaves full of indigestible artificial ingredients. This machine is excellent and you can barely hear it- even in the initial mixing stage. It's really simple to programme if you follow the instructions- which you'll soon not need as it becomes second nat ure to you. You may, as some suggest, struggle to see the control panel if you're less than 5ft tall- but it isn't truly an issue. I've not tried the machine's own recipes yet as the one I found online gave great results. I've even exactly halved all the ingredients to make a smaller loaf with the same superb outcome. I do however pre-mix all my ingredients in a bowl with a spatula as I['ve found the machine's own mix can be a tiny bit uneven- but it's not unacceptable. Your loaf is to die for about an hour cooled- crisp crust and great texture- and if you airtight store it (I used a bread box) it'll be great still for about 12 hours. Beyond that it will make lovely toast. As you're using no rubbish, preservatives etc, that's just the way it is. But overall, for gf at least, highly recommended.
