It's a good idea to look at the pen, light weight, spiral and spin, put the pen into the pen, then put it and hold it perfectly. The Pen does not seem to be genuine. used to be genuine. and the stainless steel body looks thick, more weight than the spiral, rotate the print, put it down, then it will not hold, rotate, not hold

Now that I've had a little shy of a month's time with my new Parker Sonnet, I'd like to offer my two cents. My entire feelings for this pen left shortly after receiving and opening the box to ink it. Bottom line: I find this pen dreadfully boring and at best mediocre. There is no one factor that awes me in regards to the Parker Sonnet, but there are some positives to be recognized.1. The pen and in particular the Matte Steel with the Gold Trim looks really handsome. It's really attractive2. The pen does look and feel amazing in the hands. Great size and perfect weight, even posted. However, once you get past these positives, there isn't really anything else going on with this pen. It doesn't have a juicy ink flow, nor does it sound great while writing, in my opinion. It's a somewhat "noisey" pen and I ordered the medium nib. I'm almost certain the EF or F are even noisier. It's as almost if this pen has no depth to it, if you can follow me. This Sonnet doesn't feel great, nor does it feel terribly horrible as you write, it just is.In every way possible, I would generously give this pen a C-, with a heavy emphasis on the minus. So, if you want a great looking pen that doesn't go beyond that surface and is a bit scratchy even with a M nib, then this one's for you. I, however, will put this Sonnet back into the box in which it arrived.

The pen is well made and extremely stylish, helped by the presentation box. The store staff wrapped it for me in a contemporary manner. The ability to use both cartridges and bottled ink makes it versatile. It is intended however that it is used for different coloured inks (e.g. blue/black, red, etc.) to conform with the legal documents to be annotated and therefore the ability to use bottled ink is welcome.

I have recently started to use my fountain pens more. I have a ballpoint and rollerball pen in the sonnet series, and I wanted to add a fountain pen to my collection. I received this pen yesterday and I have to say the quality does not seem to be there like my other Parker Sonnets. It feels cheap somehow. It does right good, but the quality feels less. The engraving on the pen looks cheap. The cap does not have a firm snap when you put it on. Overall, I would not suggest this pen.
A beautiful looking fountain pen, metallic red, with gold colored trim, this Parker is an easy writer. It is a mid sized pen, with good balance, whether posted or not. Posted, it is one of the best looking fountain pens in my quiver. The black grip section looks nice against the maroon barrel and gold nib, clip, and trim. This M nib flows lightly and smoothly with either the included converter or cartridge. It is a stylish, comfortable, and functional pen, at an obtainable price point. Recommended!
The tip of the pen is catching the paper. It's not gliding through the paper as cheaper Sheaffer Sagaris. This pen has a better overall finish quality but the is failed by the rough glide..
I really like the matt black finish, it looks very smart contrasted with chrome. I had read some reviews saying that the finish could mark easily. I have kept it away from metal objects (keys/ coins) but I feel like the finish is pretty robust and not as delicate as has been made out. The pen would write reasonably well straight out of the box and after being used for a few days it has no hard starts so it's reliable to carry round and make notes with. I purchased the fine nib. It is very fine and suits my relatively small handwriting, it does give a little more feedback than other manufacturers nibs but probably because it is not so highly polished. I don't see this as a negative because I have struggled with hard starts from other (possibly over polished) fine ... I was very pleased with the look of the pen upon receipt and the service was faultless. I bought it for one of my sons as a birthday present as he is an excellent writer and he was delighted with it! I also chose a black Italian-made plain paper journal to accompany the pen which was equally well received. Thank you.
The Parker sonnet is the perfect choice for me. I have comparitively small writing, so ordered mine with the fine nib. With that nib, the pen writes beautifully. It is smooth and does not skip. I use it every day but I have never experienced a hard-start and I get many, many pages from a single refill of the inlcuded converter. Being brushed stainless steel, it looks very nice; elegant but discrete and, importantly, is relatively bulletproof, so it will keep its good looks for many years.
The pen was a bit ‘scratchy’ when I first used it. I flushed it with water which didn’t improve it much but after flushing it with Diamine nib cleaner it had improved ink flow, using Parker Quink, and was much smoother. Surprisingly, it’s a little bit lighter than my other Black Sonnet but it’s performance is very similar being well-balanced and with good feedback from the paper; IMO it’s also just as elegant. A very attractive pen with the quality one would expect from Parker.
