I've had this for over 2 years now and it's been through everything with me - from being an extra layer while camping by the beach, scuba diving, boating, to all the other ridiculously cold field work I do. I always make sure to throw this on with all my thermals and it makes a world of difference! It's so extremely packable that it easily fits into my mini backpack and the 800-power filled down makes it the warmest thing ever! It also looks super chic just to wear when going out in the city! I know the price can be very off-putting at first but trust me when I say this is definitely worth the investment! Plus they occasionally go on sale with the seasonal colors which is a total steal! I'm 5'6, 128lbs (normally a size 6 in sweaters) and the small fits me perfectly with plenty of room to layer with a thermal and fleece underneath.

I wore this jacket for over 10 years and felt like it was time to get a new one. It fit perfectly! Just enough space, looked good. The new fit doesn't fit over my average size hips and the arms are way too long (I also have average length arms), which makes it look unflattering and it doesn't fit under other coats like my old one. Sadly returned it and hoping for the old fit next year or I will have to look elsewhere.

The original Down Sweater was unique: ia shorter, boxy style coat that could be used as outerwear, as a sweater inside, or under any coat. Every manufacturer has a long narrow down sweater. Yours is no longer unique. If you insist on keeping it>> bring back the old style, too!!

I've never seen a jacket where the down feathers come out this much, honestly extremely SHOCKING AND DISAPPOINTING. There's not a single time where I take off this jacket and NOT see the sweater/hoodie I'm wearing underneath COVERED in feathers and it's so annoying and embarrassing having to pick the feathers off myself everytime. I bought jacket because I was sick of feathers coming out of my old Uniqlo ultra light down all the time, and boy was I so disappointed. Having seen the quality of this $300 down jacket, I will never purchase from Patagonia again.
I own 2 of these jackets x 4 years and love them. I wear them every day in the winter and early spring when hiking with the dog. Both jackets were getting a bit tired so I ordered a new jacket. As per the website recommendation because of the new redesigned cut of the jacket I ordered a large. It was HUGE. Sleeves reached to my knuckles, too large in the shoulders and about 3 inches too wide at the hips. So I sent the jacket back and ordered the medium. Medium fits perfectly except too tight at the hips. I can just get it zipped. I am so bummed about the "new" fit. I returned it and am also out $76.00 in shipping fees ($19.00 x 4). I do love this jacket. It's versatile enough to wear over a ribbed sweater and under a waterproof, wind-break shell. I live in Toronto and our winters can be fiercely cold. I bought this down "sweater" to give me extra weightless warmth when I walk my dogs. Only problem is my husband loves wearing it too! I bought the black colour (slight navy tint to it) and love that the sleeves are longish. I'll save up and get my mate his own for Christmas.

It is very lightweight but warm and soft and cozy. My husband is tired of hearing me say “Have I told you how much I love this jacket?” I had tried many brands and had given up because they were all so skinny in the arms I couldn’t bend my elbows. I do not lift weights, I’m naturally muscular but not unusually so. Patagonia is the only brand I have found that comfortably fits me and lets me move. I wear a 38C and the medium is just right in the chest. I couldn’t comfortably wear it any tighter. The shoulders are roomy enough that I can comfortably cross country ski and reach down to my boots. I feel it is the perfect length for me. Sleeves are about 3" too long (typical for me) but the fabric and down are so soft that the bunching doesn't bother me, and the stretch binding at the wrists keeps the sleeves from coming over my hands. I could have bought the large and filled the extra space with a heavy sweater or thick fleece but I have never wished for that much insulation while wearing the medium with light layers. It keeps me plenty warm when I am active. On a really cold day on the hill, wear it as a middle layer and wear a shell over it.

I can really only wear this jacket walking around now. I wish Patagonia would go back to sizing clothes for athletes so we could wear their clothes while doing sports rather than making overpriced athleisure wear. On the hunt (very sadly because I used to love Patagonia) for a brand that fits athletic builds...

They are my absolute staple; I wear them hiking and climbing, and also out to supper, and even to Europe if I go on a trip there for a couple of weeks, year round. The last two seasons, I've been trying to buy a new one as my old ones are starting, after ten years, to get a little flat. But I can't do it! The new ones just don't fit properly!! It's a good down jacket overall. It keeps me comfortable up to -10C in a dry environment without layering. Pairing it with a goretex shell is ideal for harsh winter conditions. I have a previous iteration from 2018. This earlier version's outer shell feels thicker and more durable. The current version's fit is more boxy than the 2018 iteration. Although, I did find the inside pocket a bit interesting with "this coat belongs to..." In unique colouring. I honestly thought I purchased the kid's version. Regardless, it's a versatile and my favourite down jacket compared to other competitive jackets in the market that feel fragile and plasticky to the touch.
