This is my third pair of these pants. My other 2 are over 10 years old.I bought this new pair because the sale price was 50% off and I love the color. This new pair is to keep me warm while I am grooming dogs in the winter months. they are nice and long, with great pocket s .I love Patagonia ,s concern for the planet, and care of detail with products. These are just one item I have from Patagonia, the list is jackets, pants shirts , gloves, scarves, baselayers, and so much more. very happy always with whatever I buy. The customer care is excellent! I wouldrecommend theses pants for snow, and walking out in the snow.Rainorš¾š¾šāš¦ŗ

These pants ripped at the pocket on the leg on my first fall of the season. It was a small fall. I've been skiing for 23 years and no other pants I have ever done this. Over the next few days the small tear turned into a hole and my bare skin was visible. I bought a Patagonia product because of their reputation but I will never consider it again. I purchased the jacket to go with it too . A total waste of about $900 as I bought when they first came out.I can't add photos or I would.

Ideal hard-to-find length for shorter legs without having to compromise hip width. The back rises up higher, minimizing any possible gap for cold air. Spacious pockets. Straps for adjustable waist size are on the inside of the pant but are not scratchy or bulky. Comfortable wearing for spring skiing with vents open on lower mountain and easy to zip up when wind picked up at higher elevation. I didn't want to pay this much for ski pants - even on sale - but the Patagonia guarantee and the completely comfortable fit sold me.

Just took these skiing as an upgrade from some previous snow pants. Currently 5'6"-5'7" and 170 pounds, and got the large. It fit well, with room for moderate curves (I think my natural waist is ~33" right now, and fullest point of my hips is ~43"). These hit about mid-rise for me - not so low-slung as some of the pants designed for snowboarders, which is good for keeping snow out. Definitely glad I got the uninsulated version - it's less bulky and lets you modify for the weather way more. On a day in the teens, I could layer thermals and pants beneath them; on a day in the thirties just needed a pair of cold-weather leggings to stay warm. Also more of a nice-to-have, but the pockets along the thigh are soooo much nicer for storing odds and ends than ones just below ...Ā MoreJust took these skiing as an upgrade from some previous snow pants. Also more of a nice-to-have, but the pockets along the thigh are soooo much nicer for storing odds and ends than ones just below the waistband (which invariably pinch and get uncomfortable while you're sitting on a lift and can't adjust anything lest you lose your wallet to a snowbank 20 feet below).
Iām more pear shaped at this stage of life than Iād like. I first tried the XL to see if that size would work better than a large model from years ago was feeling uncomfortably tight on the waist. They were huge, even in the waist there were extra inches, and the rest was WAY big for meā¦so I returned for the large. It seems just a bit better than the older one Iāve used for years. It is still tight in the waist. What amazed me was the huge difference in sizing between the Lg and XL. Overall though I expect these to be the perfect pants for cold daysā¦if we get any more this year.
These pants are moderately insulated all over, and have all of the basic features you'd want in a ski pant, with a few thoughtful touches. They'll mainly be resort pants for me, but I also have worn them on cold backcountry days or when I knew we'd be moving slow and standing around a lot. The side vent zips keep me from overheating on uphill climbs. I prefer pants with side vents on the outside of the leg, which is where they are on this pant and they're of a generous length so that you really feel the difference when they are open. The diagonal pocket on the front side of your right thigh is an appreciated extra storage location. When I don't have gloves on I appreciate that the two hip pockets have a soft, brushed fabric interior. When I don't have gloves on I appreciate that the two hip pockets have a soft, brushed fabric interior. In fact, the nicest thing about these pants may be the overall quality of the fabrics. The main exterior of the pant is soft and silky (the word buttery comes to mind), without being glossy and the interior ankles are reinforced with a different, durable fabric, as are the bottom edges of each leg. I'm 5'3" and do regret not getting the short version that Patagonia offers, but the size small fits my 28-29" waist perfectly.
These are a fantastic weight and insulation level. They are fantastic for skiing and stay water resistant in snow for several hours. In rain they were wet in about 20 minutes of moderate rain. These are on the long side, for which I have no real complaints. The go fairly easily over boots and keep legs and feet dry and warm (assuming you have good boots). If you have shorter legs, you may find they bunch up at the bottom a bit. The crotch is a little tight but not too bad for more heavy-moderate to extreme lower body activity (like snow shoeing on a significant incline or mogul skiing). If you are on the skinny side, you may not notice as much. If you are built more athletically, like me, you may feel they are a touch restrictive. The waist is made for people with a smaller, higher waist relative to their hips but I was able to move around in them with relative comfort while I was active. I will have more pics and videos once we get actual snow but for now I have included some that just show fit and length a bit better. But you cannot beat the quality of the stitching and material, as well as the surprising light weight relative to the amount of warm insulation that these pants provide. 10/10 there. 7/10 in sizing.
Product Overview:These are nice pants with a light insulation. I wore base layer under them and stayed warm all day. The material does a good job of blocking out wind and snow.Sizing/fit:These run true to size. I am 5ā5ā and 165 lbs with an athletic build and am wearing a Medium. I would probably do better sizing up (and they do have Velcro adjustments in the waist to cinch them in if needed). Size up if you are on the fence. The length was perfect for me.Pros:-comfortable all day-love the material, it moves with you but is also very protective.-good pockets and pocket placement-lots of vents for warm days-the pants fit snug around boots which I appreciate for keeping snow out of boots-they have a lace clip if you have boots with laces.Cons:-The ...Ā MoreProduct Overview:These are nice pants with a light insulation. Even with the little string, they are hard to grab with ski gloves/mittensFinal thoughts:These are on the pricier side but they are also a solid pair of ski pants. I can see them lasting for many seasons with minimal wear and tear.
The pants present like any other goretex ski pants initially. Solid construction and flattering fit. They do run a bit large though so unless you like wearing extra thicker layers underneath the insulated pants make sure to bring a belt. I was not a huge fan of the mesh air zips however that's probably just due to being used to non-insulated ski touring pants that don't have the mesh layers at those vents so not a dealbreaker. If you are looking for some all around solid black ski pants these will do. I imagine these are perfect for romping around on a snowmachine or snowball fights and lift serve skiing.
I ski, shovel, walk dogs, and in general use "snow pants" for many activities, so I decided that I could use another pair if I found good ones on sale this spring. I DID ! I plan to wear them tomorrow on a motor boat on a very cold river (we just got snow) as I coach crew and the season just started. I bought the burl red color and it's gorgeous. I bought the size XL because I wanted to be able to put them on over whatever I was wearing (the waist is adjustable so they won't fall off of you "buy bug" ... success! Either they run a little large or they were cut for this. They are flattering, very comfortable, insulated, and PERFECT for cold weather boating. I am thinking of buying a smaller size for skiing they are so nice! Don't hesitate!
