It's tough to find clothes and jackets to fit my body. Female non-binary I prefer my tops without the skirting effect that most women blessed with hips enjoy. So the boys xxl is as good as it gets. A little long in the torso but sleeve length and shoulders are my main concern so it works. The color choices are getting a little better for "boys".I spend a lot of time on the windy beach with my dog, in a cold studio painting, and gardening on those damp San Francisco mornings. These jackets rotate from beach wear, then to the cold studio, and finally on their last leg to the garden.Always a great Patagonia product with impeccable customer service.

This is hands down the most versatile jacket I have found. It works for just a little chilly in the 50s and below feeding with layers under. This jacket has held up to Colorado winters and is quality enough that I can hand it down to younger siblings. I have now bought these for 4 winters for my kiddo and am still constantly impressed with how warm they keep my kids and the quality of the product! Can’t go wrong with this one!Also- Patagonia kids jackets run big in my opinion.

This is our fourth down sweater purchased from Patagonia. We just keep sizing up as our kid outgrows one. My kid loves how light, comfortable, and warm it is. I love that it has been safe to use in a car seat (now booster), that it's washable, and that it can be layered when needed. We live in northern Canada so this jacket gets used in almost every month of the year. My kid is hard on clothing and these jackets stand up to dragging along railings, being flung around playgrounds, and having rocks, chalk, and other treasures stored in the pockets. For those comparing the toddler version and the kid one:Pros for this version: there's an inside pocket that my kid is THRILLED with, and there are synch cords for the waist.Cons for this version: there isn't a loop for ... MoreThis is our fourth down sweater purchased from Patagonia. I'm 152cm and 55kg, with 37cm shoulders, XXL is nicely fit and not tight at all. I can easily wear another thin layer like the R1 underneath it and still not feeling tight around shoulders and chest area. Compared to Nano jacket which I also got it the same size, this jacket is slightly puffier.I've been wearing it with a T-shirt since I got last week. It's perfect for light rainy day and windy day. I'm a big fan of lululemon wunder puff jacekt in winter and need something light yet still water repellent in the Seattle late spring early summer days. This jacket checks all the boxes. I ordered the black one so I can wear it more often and it doesn't stand out, it goes well with white and light blue jeans and sweatpants.Overall, it's a perfect buy, and the price is ... MoreI'm 152cm and 55kg, with 37cm shoulders, XXL is nicely fit and not tight at all. My daughter was handed down a jacket of this style from a friend in a beautiful, bright color. It is well-made, warm and light. She has now outgrown it so I hopped on here to look at purchasing another in a larger size and am dissapointed to see that these jackets are all black, navy, olive, grey, etc. There was apparently a pink one, but it's sold out. Would love to see some other color choices. Also, our older version has the loop for hanging on a hook and I'd like to echo the sentiment of another reviewer that these are SO nice and I'd be bummed if our new jacket comes without one.
We have been buying this down sweater jackets for my three kids for the past 8 years and keep coming back for more. I prefer the no hood and like that are comfortable to keep on in the car. I find they run a little generous is sizing as my kids typically wear them one year past the size age. (My 7 year old still fits in her Small 5/6). Like others noted, this years do not have the hook loop to hang the jacket which is a major bummer as we use this feature daily on our older jacket. Debating about returning and hoping this is corrected in next years version.
Bought for my very active 9 year old. Great jacket very warm but lightweight as he isn’t keen on heavy bulky jackets. He also wears this as an additional layer under another jacket when it’s colder. He ripped the sleeve whilst out playing, no problem Patagonia repaired and now good as new. The jacket lives on for many more adventures! One of the many reasons we love this brand
This is my son's second Down Sweater. He is 11 yr old and the size L fits him perfect. I might have gotten an XL but he is on the skinnier side. This is light-weight but keeps him warm so that he lives in it. Very practical and cool! On a warmer day, he can ski in it on top of a base layer and a jumper. The only downside with this jacket is that after a heavy wear, the surface fabric may develop a tiny hole (usually around sleeves) and down feathers keep sticking out. But given the customer service ( a small repair patch sticker came with the recent purchase) and the functionality of this garment, this is not a dealbreaker. When he outgrows it I am sure I will need to order the next size for him!
Wasn’t sure on the colour to be honest but she already has a black version in the previous girls fit of the down sweater. It just needs a little hook to hang it. And I would love for it to have a pull-elastic along the bottom, to sinch in the waist so the cold can’t get through. But my child’s jacket is for school mornings in winter so she will be wearing a thermal top, long-sleeve school top, a thick school polofleece underneath. With the Patagonia Torrentshell rain jacket over the top. So plenty of layers anyway. But yeah. Those two things would be preferential.I miss the fit of the girls one, I love the darts and the slight duck-tail of the back. Really attractive jacket and I do miss that!
I bought this paired with a storm shift shell for snowboarding. Both jackets are excellent quality and i wear them Separately as well. They hit right at my wrist which is good for casual wear but they rise up and let snow in between my coat and gloves. Torso length is spot on. I typically wear a 14/16 in most brands. The XXL was way too big.An extra inch of sleeve length on this size would make it perfect. 👍
