Nothing wrong to say about it. Support whatever brand is dear to you by buying the cap. I feel like it’s the entry action to do when it comes to Cap.As for the cap itself, the color it cute. The quality of sewing seems top notch. The adjustment clip is made of metal. The only thing I would say is that it arrived flater (less curve infront) than the picture, which is not a big deal, but to consider if you like the style.

I bought this hat because I needed a new trail cap. On the plus side: hat is very lightweight, and comfortable. Only the front 2 panels are "formed", the others are not, so they collapse into it for easy packing. The headband is great for wicking sweat and keeping it off your forehead, and the velcro band adjusts for a perfect fit. I have a pretty big head and this hat works for me, although I wish it was slightly bigger.on the downside: the material from this picks up sweat and oil from fingers and head like a magnet. it cleans fairly easily, but if you want it pristine you'll be cleaning it often. the front panels, if folded, will never be perfectly formed again, kind of like how when you fold paper you'll always see a line in it even once it's flattened. these ... MoreI bought this hat because I needed a new trail cap. Not sure if MEC or Patagonia did this, but to pay a premium to buy a hat made of recycled plastic, which comes wrapped in plastic, seems a little contradictory.overall though it's a decent hat and it' comfort makes it a keeper as a "beater" trail cap.

Comfortable hat!

I chose this hat because it has less plastic and more cotton than other hats offered by Patagonia, and I picked the black color because I wear it for running, and the black colorway hides nasty sweat stains better / discolors less with use. I find the fit comfortable, and the crown has gotten more flexible with repeated wears, but I initially had concerns about it being too tall overall. The bill is long enough to give good shade over my whole face, although if there was a short-billed trail running version of this hat, I would definitely get one. Keep making cotton hats, Patagonia! I will come back for more!

Fades quickly; fits well
24 September 2022

Loved the fit and style. The dark blue faded quickly (within 6-8 weeks) giving it very worn look (think of a hat worn by a river rafting guide and it is moving in that direction). That may be what others want, but I prefer a fresh look for longer. Mixed feelings. Cant recommend it unless youre ok with a worn look after a short time. Not sure if it is only that color or more widespread.

Fit is OK. Looks goofy
9 November 2021

I have a large head, and have a hard time finding hats. My head is a 61 (largest standard hat size), or a 7 5/8ths if you bought a fitted baseball cap in the US.Anyway, I bought an L/XL Buff running cap, and while it fit, it wasn’t deep enough. It fit me fine before running, but because it wasn’t deep enough and was made of a very stretchy material like a swim cap, it would ride up my head while running, and I’d need to take it off and put it on over and over again. Very annoying! It also happened to be hideous.I ended up giving up on it and buying the Patagonia Airshed. Another big-headed reviewer said it fits!!Firstly, it really does fit. It would probably fit a size 62, which is crazy. However, it suffers a similar issue in that it’s not quite deep enough. It ... MoreI have a large head, and have a hard time finding hats. It would probably fit a size 62, which is crazy. However, it suffers a similar issue in that it’s not quite deep enough. It doesn’t pinch my head and slide upwards like my previous hat, but I feel that any wind, or the constant bouncing up and down that occurs while I run loosens the hat. I’m constantly adjusting it, or putting it back on. It doesn’t grip my head enough.Good news is that I can tighten the hat, but it doesn’t prevent the problem from happening again. It’s just not deep enough.Having said that, I’d still recommend it. It’s built well, and I like the material. It looks a but like a dad hat, but it’s already hard for me to find a running hat. This serves its purpose well enough for running, but wouldn’t wear it for casual use.

Love it but fades so fast!!!
4 May 2023

So here's my honest take on this. I bought this product about 5 months ago. I was obsessed with the fit of the hat since day one! It fit amazing and it looked so great that it became my favorite hat of them ALL (trust me I have so many hats from all brands and styles) but the fit and the simplicity of this one just captivated me. Look, I almost lost it at Shenandoah Nat'l Park and had to go back to the trail towards the peak of a mountain when it was already getting dark. That is how much I loved it!It has been with me through all those good adventures, hikes, weather. The sad and bad part of this is that it cannot endure the sun. I would get it if it just had sweat stains that can be cleaned but this hat literally started to get sunbleached and turn orange-y. It ... MoreSo here's my honest take on this. It looks quite horrible nothing like the beginning, not even black anymore. Nothing to do about that and it sucks. It didn't even last 6 months, even though I love it and would love to wear it everyday it just looks bad. I don't get it because I love Patagonia and I always swear by their quality but this is not a quality hat, and not for what we are paying for it.

Love the low-profile traditional cap!
14 January 2023

LOVE this cap! It's traditional, old school hardcore and total quality. No bs that we get these days with crazy tends! I purchased the cap in Wavy Blue. The website doesn't do any justice to the color combination, until you actually see the cap in those colors. If you're beyond subdued colors and see this cap, it's awesome! I love it so much I purchased two of these same color caps.

Super Deep Black Hole Hat
21 February 2021

Im pretty sure I have a mostly normal sized head at 22 in circumference, but the Tin Shed hat is huge! Im not talking about the adjustment with the snap-back fit, but rather the depth to this hat. It. Is. Deep! It folds my ears down if I let it sit atop my head fully touching. That is not comfortable in the slightest. And I dont want to be that guy that puts his hat on over his ears, but if there was ever a hat for doing so, this would be it. Ive since found that most of the other Patagonia hats Ive tried on also have this issue. I did find a red, white, and blue Trucker P-6 logo hat that fits really well, and while I wondered what was so different about it, I saw that the tag included kids trucker hat on it. Go figure.Ive worn so many hats over the years that Im surprised at how deep this one is. I typically wear FlexFit Small-Medium hats that usually fit on the tight side, but Ive never encountered such a deep hat before in any of them. Those just fit so well. I really wish Patagonia would venture into that area as well. Surely they can find a way to sustainably manufacture an elastic band for hats? Theyve got plenty of other articles of clothing with elastic in them, so Id imagine its not an impossibility. One Size Fits All is just not great. If theyd offer this hat in a Kids size, that would be fantastic, and if they offered it in FlexFit to boot, well, that would be just perfect. On the positive side, it looks really nice and the quality of the hat is superior to ANY hat Ive ever worn though, which is not surprising from Patagonia, but I just wish I could get a hat that wasnt a Trucker hat from them.Maybe this will prompt some reconsideration in the design team?

This hat breathes!
28 July 2022

This hat actually sheds heat. I'm wearing it while working outdoors during summer and finding this cap much cooler than my other caps. The fit is a bit deep for my head - just about touches my ears. It's not a problem for me, but it's close... I hope they use this material to make shirts and pants and shorts. It's lovely to feel the breeze and have the spf protection :)

Velcro strap will ruin your hoody!
8 June 2023

Overall, this cap is airy and does not retain as much sweat as other competitors hats because it sits a bit further off your head, but the fit is very small and if you have a larger head, barely any of the velcro strap in the back will attach. The major problem is that the exposed male velcro catches and pulls on everything!!! I have ruined the hoods of several sun hoodies because of this cap until I cut a piece of female velcro to cover the ofending male parts...I don't understand why companies use velcro in this way???? Just use a strap and cam buckle like Arc'teryx or Kuhl does! Are you going to pay to replace my ruined gear Patagonia?
