I have used these ski bibs about 6 times since purchase and have been very satisfied. My main reason was my old pants wouldn't keep me dry on a stormy day. The very first day they were put to a test with a mix of rain and snow. They passed with flying colors and now I am staying dry even in challenging weather. The fit is very loose.

Great pair of bibs! They are lightweight, with no lining. I run hot so I like a lightweight pair of ski pants. They were great while touring and while lift access riding. I am a snowboarder, and they did not inhibit any movements while riding or while transitioning from tour mode to ride mode while split boarding. Two front leg pockets and one chest pocket give you plenty of storage options. Vent zips on both sides allowed me to keep cool while skinning. Kept me dry and warm all day. Patagonia sizing recommend a small for me, but the medium was the better fit with ample room for movement. I am 5'9" and weight 155 lbs.

The pants are fine. I ended up returning them for a few reasons. They are a bit loose and l make you look a bit like a fisherman. They are awkward to get into, no zipper to loosen up the entry. They are also a bit long which wasn’t my favourite, but I’m short. The colour wasn’t a light black which was a bit disappointing. I think the H2No and overall pack ability are what make these pants shine. If you want a loose fitting shell and don’t mind the tiny squeeze getting in then they’re good.

I use these in winter months for all sorts of tasks. Like all great Patagonia Gear, you can use this stuff hard and it works great. From long Backcountry Touring days, XC Ski days, resorts runs or snow blowing the driveway these bibs are simple and straightforward but get the job done. A little thin, but that is what I like about them, I like to layer so I can accommodate the wild temperature variations we have in Northern California. 50 and sunny or 13 degrees and driving wind. These work great!
Nice cut and lightweight. Quality zips as you would expect. I actually returned mine due to sizing (I’m a short leg), but it was a comfortable fit around the body. My other concern was durability. The material seemed very sheer compared to 3 layer gore-tex. I’m not sure the bib would survive a day of bush whacking off piste. But would be nice and lightweight for fine weather alpine.
Really liked the lightweight, professional feel of these bibs. Lots of nice features including the chest pocket and front zipper. Just they are so baggy in the legs. If that is the look you are going for, then they are for you. But for me being a bit shorter at 5'7", they are definitely too long in length, which causes even more bagginess. I get you want some space for layers under non-insulated pants, but these are the baggiest pants in the legs I've ever tried on.Never tested these out on the slopes, but I will agree with some other reviews in that there isnt much movement in the knees. Another knock are the straps. They seem like they would slip off your shoulders very easily. They are very narrow and pretty slick, without any underside rubber grip or anything.
These are very thin, but extremely warm! I got a great deal on these, but I'm not sure if I'd purchase them again for a couple reasons. 1) You have to step in through the "side" of these through a hip zipper and slide in, instead of putting them on like pants. 2) They get dirty very easily, and the material is almost like a crushed-velvety-weird-matte material. 3) They are rather baggy below the knee. They are good enough for me and it's nice to have a back-up pair, but those are some of the negatives.
Well made, nice fit, just right warmth with undergarments. Only thing missing for me would be another front pocket and a back pocket for my wallet. The chest pocket is nice for a cell phone but when I ride I like to keep my phone in a zippered front pocket at the thigh so I can get to it without unzipping my jacket. I have an older pair of Patagonia Gore-Tex bibs with these pockets and have come to rely on them. Im not sure why the got eliminated out of this design.
Fit is great and the move to bib life is even better than I expected. These are light, but sturdy. They're not insulated so I used a midweight capilene bottom, then a generic pair of sweatpants over that when snowboarding in ~20 degree conditions. No wind or water getting through these, yet they still breathed well. No sweat at all.
I'm 6'3, 190lbs, lanky build, and snowboard (all in bounds, pow, side stashes, woods as much as possible).first i'd say that i agree with another poster here that the knees are a little restricting, and 90 degrees does feel a little resistance. i also tried on the XL which alleviates some of this, though is so baggy at the hips for me that it would be cold (though look more stylish than my 42 years of age demands...).that said, the advantages of these pants far outweigh this minor issue to me. first, the material is extremely lightweight, breathable, and yet with a base layer on, i don't feel cold. there's fantastic pockets everywhere you could want them, no where you don't (i.e. not excessive), and great heat dumping vents that go all the way up the side if its ... MoreI'm 6'3, 190lbs, lanky build, and snowboard (all in bounds, pow, side stashes, woods as much as possible).first i'd say that i agree with another poster here that the knees are a little restricting, and 90 degrees does feel a little resistance. i also tried on the XL which alleviates some of this, though is so baggy at the hips for me that it would be cold (though look more stylish than my 42 years of age demands...).that said, the advantages of these pants far outweigh this minor issue to me. first, the material is extremely lightweight, breathable, and yet with a base layer on, i don't feel cold. there's fantastic pockets everywhere you could want them, no where you don't (i.e. not excessive), and great heat dumping vents that go all the way up the side if its a spring slush day.the overalls actually tighten to fit great (which is nice since i have minimal hips/butt).overall, the kind of weird fit i'm used to with patagucci, but also the fantastic build/materials i'm used to as well.
