LOVE LOVE LOVEI first ordered a size small but found it a bit too big. I was able to do a very smooth and quick exchange with their customer service department (as I live in Canada). Which by the way their service representatives are all so AMAZING. I am able to layer with the patagonia down hoody jackets (i have 2 of them, hmmm which colour to wear lol) when the cold temperatures hit. They fit so comfortably under this jacket. Currently I have not had to layer yet as our winter season is just starting. I have had weather so far with -8 degrees celcius and have yet to feel cold with a thin layer top on. I find it warm as it blocks the wind great. That's the Gore-tex. The size fits great. I am a bit shorter and always find it hard to find a jacket that doesn't look ... MoreLOVE LOVE LOVEI first ordered a size small but found it a bit too big. I'm in love. The colour is incredibly gorgeous and so vibrant! The pockets are a huge hit. The hand pockets are perfectly placed. There is a nice pouch/pocket on the inside and it's awesome. Great for goggles, gloves/mitts, etc.

I love this jacket - I use it for rainy weather in the city, snowboarding, and hiking/camping. The Goretex shell protects you from all weather elements and is truly wind and waterproof. I layer the Down Sweater underneath this when I snowboard and it keeps me warm but still allows me to move in all sorts of ways.I recently replaced this since the goretex was defective and the shoulder seems seeping in water. Patagonia truly stands by their Ironclad warranty and I got a replacement jacket with no hassle. To the folks at Patagonia, thank you for doing what you do. Truly one of the best customer service and warranty service is best in class.

I love this shell!! It does it all for me and goes on every adventure. This 3 layer Gore-Tex shell is completely wind and waterproof while staying breathable. Not only is the shell itself breathable, it has huge pit zippers/vents. It weighs 17 oz, so will stand up to heavy snow and rain without weighing much. I wear this as my everyday rain jacket, ski shell, adventure shell and you name it shell. It has everything you need but only the minimum to save weight.Fit is true to size, slightly large but essentially true to size with room to layer winter layers underneath. My mild temp ski kit is Triolet shell with Capilene Thermal or Midweight under. Cold temp is Triolet shell, Capilene Thermal, with Down Sweater Vest or R2 Tech Face jacket. Purchased this to go with teal ski pants Patagonia had this year and it is the perfect match with the zippers being the same color as the pants. I had purchased a different lined jacket but then returned it when I found this one in a store - I just prefer an unlined shell as it turns out. I just wish Patagonia (or someone!) made petite-size shells. The arms are way too long to the point that I'm going to look into getting them tailored (an added cost for a not-cheap shell), and the length of the jacket is a bit long although I can live with that. Otherwise it fits great, it is definitely very windproof but haven't had the chance to test the waterproof-ness.
Just took this jacket on a 3 day hike (Freycinet peninsula circuit, Tasmania, Australia), and was surprised by rainy, blustery weather en route to our first camp site. Jacket was completely waterproof, provided great protection from the wind, keeping me warm in the elements (in a tank and shorts only). Took next to no time to dry off once I hung it in the tent vestibule. Axillary vents and inner pocket were great features. Plus the hood has a little cap-like beak to it which helped to shield my eyes from the rain. It’s pretty lightweight too. Highly recommend.
I opted to try this jacket on in the store before purchasing, and I'm glad I did. The small fit perfectly with a light hoodie underneath, but I wanted the option to layer a thicker sweatshirt or puffy down vest. I ultimately ordered a medium. I'm short (5'2", about 140 and athletic) and the sleeves and jacket are a bit long, but it will be more versatile for layering. I love this jacket; super pleased with it!
I've had my triolet for over 3 years now. I've put it through the ringer and its still my go to. I use mine for ski touring and fishing mainly but I also use it for everyday life. It's never let me down in downpour, sideways rain, or big snowstorms. I have also yet to put a hole in it. Which usually happens with my gear from bushwhacking or climbing. I am usually an 8 or M in most clothing but shells I always fit a large due to my athletic build. A medium will fit but once I layer underneath it becomes too snug with my wider shoulders. Can't recommend this jacket enough if you want something super rugged and actually waterproof! Also super well priced compared to other shells in this category on the market. Thanks Patagonia for making a more affordable bomber jacket!
Great jacket, but struggling with the fit. For reference I am short, 5’2”, athletic, but am blessed with wide hips and a bit of a butt. I have bean searching far and wide for gear that will fit my figure, and have yet to locate gear with a fit that is inclusive of people like me. I know I am not alone, but dang sometimes it feels that way when I am shopping for outerwear.I am a Frankenstein in Patagonia sizing. What I mean by this is I am a size small/xs in arms and length, yet a size medium in chest and waist, and large in hip.I tried the medium, and The Triolet jacket is a dream 3 layer goretex jacket (although a bit on the stiffer crinkly side), but it is so so narrow in the hips. While I appreciate patagonia’s efforts to expand the range of sizes they offer, I ... MoreGreat jacket, but struggling with the fit. I wish you could offer outerwear that accommodates a wider range of body types.
I had an old Triolet jacket and LOVED it, literally wore it as rain and ski shell until it delaminated. I was so excited to see this one on sale. I am 5'7 and ~142 lbs and ordered the small and the medium. Both fit but the small fit better in the chest and arms but was tight on the bum. The medium feels pretty big in the chest and puffs out a bit but it fits my hips and bum. I'll keep it but it's not an ideal fit for women with curves. If you're totally straight with no hips this is your jacket. Please, Patagonia - design for some curves.
I wanted to love this jacket but after 3 months of use and I just don't like it. I found its performance in wet weather to be poor, and not suitable for the 4-season hiking and adventuring I do.What I loved:There are SO MANY POCKETS! Honestly this is the jackets best feature! It has huge pit zips, also great. The tomato color is pinker than I expected, but it grew on me after I had the jacket for a few days. What I disliked:The hood is SO BIG if you're not wearing a helmet it is completely uselessly. The adjustment points don't cinch it down well, and without a helmet I found it hard to see, even when cinched, and the way the cords pull the hood down it leaves big gaps at the bottom for rain to get in. The DWR was also disappointing, I expected more for the price. Maybe this is due to the eco-friendly DWR, but the jacket wets out quick. Ten minutes in to a gentle rainstorm I was sad to see that my coat was completely wetted out while people in basic $90 jackets still had nice little beads on their sleeves. I know this is billed as an alpine jacket but it also says that it is waterproof and my experiences using it in the rain are contrary to that. Because of the way the hood/collar is designed I had rain falling down the front of my jacket during a 4 hour backcountry hiking adventure. The inside of my coat (and the rest of me) ended up completely soaked. Even with the hood on the poor design let water run off the hood and straight into the jacket. I found snow can also fall down the front of the jacket because of the collar/hood design. A few stars for the awesome features, but this jacket did not work for me.
