Nano Versatility. The women’s NANO PUFF Insulated hoody is versatile enough as a micro-belay hoody or insulated jacket. PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Eco provides water-repellent, compressible warmth, retaining 98% of heat even when wet. A 100% recycled ripstop poly shell – bluesign-approved – keeps the wind and water off. DWR treatment helps repel water. Brick-patterned quilting keeps the insulation in place. The hood can be fit under a helmet. A soft wicking inner storm flap is parked behind the front zip, and a chin zip garage means next-to-skin comfort. Two zip handwarmers and an inner zip chest pocket are storage options. The inner pocket doubles as a stuff sack for the whole hoody, fixed with the attached carabiner clip-in loop. A drawcord-adjustable drop-tail hem seals warmth in and keeps the wind at your back, not on it.

Good range of motion, great jacket!

I have an inexpensive version of this jacket from elsewhere that I thought worked just as well until I got the Nano Puff. To some degree it does, but there are some key differences that make me say this jacket is worth the investment of a much higher price..the Nano Puff nylon is softer, pockets are nice and roomy for phone, wallet and keys and most importantly, I can move my arms up and all around without the whole jacket riding up. This is especially perfect for active days, hiking, camping, backpacking. I bought a medium to wear with a basic shirt for a closer fit. I use this jacket as a mid layer and wear my rain jacket on top in colder, wetter weather if I don't want to wear my winter coats. I could have sized up to a large to wear thicker layers underneath. I ordered the green which I love more in person than on the site photos. I wear a 10 and 12 in tops, depending on the brand and have a small chest. If you have a larger chest, you'll want to consider sizing up.

Great jacket, but lousy zipper

This is my second Women's Nano Puff Jacket. I purchased my first jacket for a vacation a few years ago because it was very lightweight and easily packable. I didn't wear the jacket much on my vacation, but wore it a lot when I returned home to my foggy coastal California town. I also have two Women's Nano Puff vests. One of the vests is black and I love the color black because it is so versatile (although my first jacket is a silver color and it, too, seems to be happy paired with my usual jeans and black t-shirt!). Anyway, I really wanted a black jacket and now I have one, and the black color seems just a bit more formal and refined. I can squeeze a light weight sweater under the jacket, and on extra cold winter days in coastal California, I wear a Nano Puff Vest under my Nano Puff Jacket, and often wear a wool or silk scarf around my neck and stuffed into the front of the jacket for extra warmth. I wear this jacket for walking and general casual use. I really love Nano Puff Jackets -- so lightweight, so warm, and so easy to wash and dry, and durable, too! Also, that small interior zippered chest pocket is so handy for face masks, and other small items. And, of course, the two zippered side pockets are indispensable (jackets must have secure zippered pockets!). I use the zippered side pockets constantly to carry a folded reusable shopping bag, or a letter to take to the post box, or gloves, or a hat (perhaps my phone). Thank you so much for continuing to make this jacket. It is so perfect!

Improved from 1st gen but still problematic
11 February 2023

I had a first gen and the fit was blocky and sleeves were too long. I traded it in because of the improved feminine cut. Love the orange color, length and cut.My problem is - as with much of Patagonia clothing - what women are the designing for! I am strong and fit and the arm holes are the jacket are small. Strong women has shoulders, have muscles. I am 63 inches tall and 145 lbs.Much like the baggie shorts I had to trade in because although the leg openings are good - the elastic waist is too small.Patagonia- please ensure you are designing for real women with real body types that have muscles. I see your sizing guide and said my 36D chest fit in a medium jacket. It does but its tight.

Love my Nano Puff Parka
25 March 2023

This is my second Nano Puff Parka. Even though it is slightly big for me in the shoulders (yet i think XS would be too snug), I still love it. The lightweight & soft warmth, the knee length (on my petite frame; long, yet not too much so); yet the thing I really love is the double zipper. One would think this not so important, yet if a parka does not have snaps or buttons, being able to open up the zipper from the bottom for ease in walking/light hiking, sitting (especially cross-legged on the floor/ground, which I often do) is greatly improved with a double zipper. I wish the jacket also had this feature. I was afraid this mauve color would be either dull or not flattering to my olive complexion, yet its a bit more lavender-ish than the photo, and goes nicely with ... MoreThis is my second Nano Puff Parka. Not super warm and snags on everything
6 January 2023

I normally love all of my Patagonia gear, but this jacket really fell short. I wanted a lightweight puffer that would keep me warm and would allow for me to be active when it's cold out. Unfortunately, this jacket didn't do either. The stitching between each "quilted" patch snags on anything and everything you touch, which leads this to be a really poor activewear jacket. By the third time I wore it, I had strings hanging off me everything. The warmth also fell short. I was trying to upgrade from an old puffy jacket that I had for 10 years. I find the old jacket to be warmer than this new one. I still wear it, but I took my old puffy on a backpacking trip rather than this new one for staying warm.

Perfect For California cold lol!
6 January 2023

I own both this jacket and the down hoodie I would say the down hoodie is more for colder weather. This one is more practical for every day use. This is always my go to for work or throwing on a casual lightly warm layer. Its lightweight and it keeps you warm. I labeled it perfect for California cold because I would say this jacket does well for any temperatures between 70° to as low as 53°. Youd probably be pretty warm. if there is a lot of wind with temperatures under 60°, I would consider maybe getting the down hoodie as it will be a lot warmer. I purchased this in the pink color and it is absolutely gorgeous. Just be careful, these jackets are not designed for rain. They have down in them so you will be soaked and dripping. Perfect parka but sizing is flawed!
28 December 2022

The Patagonia Nano Puff Parka for women was the jacket I'd been searching for: Lightweight, no bulk, two-way zipper, nice lines, nice color (new navy), covers my seat, and finally, a jacket without a hood! I typically wear sizes 2 or 4 but given the reviews, I ordered a size S (4-6). The jacket on its own is a close fit, but when layered over a lightweight sweater, the sleeve and the bodice were too tight. The jacket on its own is not warm enough for the northeast - I live in wool all winter. One would think Patagonia sized their clothing for layering and rugged women (with a little muscle). I tried on a size M in a nearby store but it was way too long in the sleeve and overall length. Please Patagonia, correct the flaw in this otherwise perfect jacket! So packable!
20 October 2022

I bought this jacket as I determined the one item I was missing during a 9 week Spring trip in Spain and Portugal was a packable, waterproof, hooded jacket. In several spots (Algarve and Azores) I was frequently in damp, misty environments and temps would change dramatically from quite warm at sea level to cold, windy and misty in the mountains. This jacket would have been perfect for those scenarios. So, now I'll be prepared for my next trip. I was shocked by how "unsubstantial" the jacket seems to be yet with a promise to keep me warm in freezing temps. I had the chance to test that last night and it seems to deliver. I was expecting a bit more of a fitted style so it's not really very flattering as it just hangs on me.
