The sun/shade line on pitch 13 is reason enough to bring along the Nano Puff Jacket. As a sleek micro-belay parka on chilly rock routes or as an insulated jacket during alpine squalls, it traps your heat and blocks the wind. The 100% recycled polyester shell sheds moisture and fits effortlessly in your layering system, while the low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft Gold Insulation Eco—now with 100% postconsumer recycled content—warms with remarkable efficiency, even when wet. The shape is sculpted with narrow horizontal quilting on the side panels, and the soft, wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage add chin comfort. The internal zippered chest pocket doubles as a self-stuffsack with a carabiner clip-in loop. Details include two zippered handwarmer pockets, elasticized cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem to seal out wind and seal in warmth. Fair Trade Certified sewn. The Women's Nano Puff Jacket is fully backed by our Ironclad Guarantee and you can find it on Patagonia. com.

I’ve had my nano puff jacket for eleven years and have loved it. I wear it almost daily in the cooler weather (not the coldest winter days though, it’s definitely a mid-range temperature jacket). The small is a little roomy for me so I can easily wear a layer under it if need to. The threads have snagged on the wrist where they rub against the open pocket zippers so I have to remember to keep the pockets zipped up and it’s not a problem. Perhaps the wrists could be reinforced a little in that area. The main zipper came apart the other day, but it worked properly after I unzipped and zipped it up again. I’m not concerned though as it is eleven years old! I’m going to buy my second nano puff jacket this week. I originally bought this puff as a midlayer to pair with a torrentshell for a trip to Iceland in October. It kept me super warm with such little bulk. I did have some issues with the stitching on one of the sleeves but customer service was very helpful and I've had no trouble since then. I wore this for jogging and hiking through the winter in New England usually over a base layer and fleece. It's held up durably so far although of course be careful if hiking because the seams can catch on brush. I did notice that it is slightly tight in the chest for me - I need the XXS due to my height (5'1") and arm length but I'm a 32D and it feels slightly constricting at times, but not enough to switch out. In the past few months too it seems it may have ever so slightly ... MoreI originally bought this puff as a midlayer to pair with a torrentshell for a trip to Iceland in October. Fits Well, but...
13 November 2023

I had an earlier what I call "puff jacket." This one, the (later) Nano version, fits considerably better for my frame. What I particularly like is that it is longer, so it covers a good bit of my derriere. Also, it's thinner, yet fits my wider frame well. My only issues are two: 1) the sleeves are a bit too long for me (but I can push them up); 2) the stuff pocket is much more difficult to use than on my earlier jacket. On my earlier jacket, the inside stuff pocket is in a completely different place and is more ample, so easier to stuff. Here, I tried it and it's a definite struggle. Fortunately, I only need to do this a couple of times a year at most, when I'm packing the jacket into a suitcase for travel, so it's not a big problem, but I still don't understand why ... MoreI had an earlier what I call "puff jacket." Somewhat, yes, because the material is lighter, but so much so?!

Great looking and warm
9 January 2024

I have a much older hoody version of this jacket and wanted a white one without a hood. My older jacket is a bit loose, so I had planned to order XS, but I read in many reviews that the newer ones are cut tighter, especially around the hips, and when I ran through the sizing tool it recommended S, so that's what I ordered. I'm a hair over 5'2", 115 lbs, hourglass shape, so not slim-hipped or small breasted, usually a size 2, and I've got several inches of room around the bottom hem and plenty of room in the chest. It actually fits pretty much the same as the older version. I decided to keep it, but I believe that the XS would have been a bit better fit even if I add layers underneath. I wore it on a chilly day (high 40's or low 50's) with a t-shirt underneath. It's ... MoreI have a much older hoody version of this jacket and wanted a white one without a hood. New favorite jacket
3 June 2024

I finally replaced my old patagonia "down sweater" jacket. Wasn't sure about a nano puff. SO glad I tried it.I've had this jacket for a month now and don't want to take it off. It's just the right weight for cool mornings and nights. I like the longer length - more flattering for my body type. "Buckhorn Green" color is perfect for me, coordinating with favorite teal and navy.Appreciate that it does not have a contrasting color inside, as my last Patagonia jacket did, and that it hasthe handy little inside zipper pocket.Sleeves are a tad long, but I don't mind.Be aware that the bottom part of the jacket does come past the hips and does not flare out much. It's a pretty straight cut.

Pit Flooding
12 January 2024

I really want to like this jacket and sometimes I do if it's the right temperature. It cuts the wind great and it is very good at keeping body heat in but I've been contemplating returning it for these reasons:1. It feels like wearing a plastic bag. It really needs pit zips. I am not an antiperspirant wearer so I do sweat in the pits and this jacket makes me sweat in the pits A LOT even when I'm just walking the dogs around the block for a half an hour. The jacket sleeves are also cut so that they are really close under my pits so I can literally sweat through my shirt and through the jacket and then the jacket smells.2. So that leads me to the second part of this: the fit. I am typically a true size small. I don't have abnormally broad shoulders and I don't have a super muscular upper body. I'm pretty average. I think it's just a cut made for people who are long and lanky (and who wear antiperspirant). So, that's my 2 cents.

Please its inverted naming, illogical SI prefixes

Hi. So I bought a Nano Puff and its a great product. Not the point. In the international SI units the world is familiar with "nano" is 1/1000th of "micro" not the inverse. My boyfriend owner of a Micro puff, but not a scientist said "well they'd already used Nano and there's no unit smaller than Nano". But of course there is! Pico! You're welcome! (Take the idea, but if you do make a picopuff I'd like a coupon please)That's my 2 cents. Love the jacketAlso just fyi in terms of fit for those that have read this far: as a "pear" shaped 5'8" female about 150 lbs with standard shoulder width & waist but wide hip circumference of 40+ inches: the length of the torso meant I had to get a size large to have it go over my hips and not ride up, but its a little baggy in the upper chest area. Its fine if I also am wearing more than a t-shirt layer under it though. Hope it helps. I really do love the jacket.

Sizing issues
8 October 2024

I ultimately kept this jacket because there is nothing quite like it. It's lightweight and perfect for traveling to cool wet climates. However it needs to be cut better for women's bodies. For reference, almost every other Patagonia jacket fits me perfectly in XL. i had this jacket in L but it was time to size up. The XL was still snug in the hip area and not much roomier than the L. However the XXL is significantly larger than the XL. Ultimately I kept the XXL even though it is way too big in the shoulders/arms because I can layer underneath. I think the issue is this jacket is longer than a lot of Patagonia's other jackets, but it is not cut appropriately. I am 5 ft 2 and pear shaped so I do think if you are taller, it would fit better.

Waaaaay too narrow across shoulders
6 December 2023

I have always loved Patagonia because of the long sleeves and ability to move around and be active in Patagonia clothing. It used to be that Patagonia made the same items for Women as they did for Men. Sadly, that is no longer the case. I have an old worn-out W's down sweater from approx 2008 that I LOVED. The jacket fits me perfectly as if it were tailor-made for me. I could do whatever I wanted wearing that jacket and be toasty warm while doing it. Too bad they don't last forever and now I need a new one. I thought the nano puff would be the same just synthetic instead of down. Wrong. I ended up trying a Men's Small, then Medium but the hips were too tight to zip the zipper. I ended up buying a Men's Large just to get it to be wide enough for both my hips and my shoulders, but now I look like a kid with a big beer gut wearing her Dad's jacket. (I am not overweight, but the jacket makes me look as if I am.) Not a good look. I don't know why the trend toward narrow shoulders, but I wish they were made the way the used to be. Not all women want to stand still and look like a Barbie doll. Why not make the jackets larger? A small woman can still wear a larger jacket, but a larger woman cannot squeeze into a small one. Or, if you really need to accommodate smaller women's narrow shoulders maybe also add a "Tall" line or an "Loose Fit" line with wider shoulders and more room to move?
