This is my first time trying this brand and I enjoyed it quite well! I had some chicken thigh and vegetable pieces already cooked so all I had to do was to mix everything up in a frying pan. Then I had it over rice and it turned out pretty delicious. This is a tomato based sauce which also includes yogurt so it's pretty healthy and not overly salty. The labels says that it has a medium spicy level but to me it's not spicy at all. I would love for it to be more spicy! Overall very easy to incorporate into my meals and nice to have in the pantry. I received a free product from Pinchme.

As someone who cooks Indian food often (and whose background is Indian), I am always interested in trying packaged/processed Indian sauces to see if they actually taste 'authentic' and live up to what we would make at home. I will say that everyone has their own version of classic dishes such as Butter Chicken, and it's because everyone has their own spice blends, family secrets to add in, and we cook by 'taste' rather than exact recipes. This one didn't quite taste authentic and has more of a tangy tomato based flavour rather than a creamy or buttery taste. The spices and seasonings were also quite mild in nature, likely tamed down for the general public. Overall, not the best representation of butter chicken, and I'm sure if you were to follow the many recipes ... MoreAs someone who cooks Indian food often (and whose background is Indian), I am always interested in trying packaged/processed Indian sauces to see if they actually taste 'authentic' and live up to what we would make at home. I’ve never had butter chicken so I’m guessing it was good. I'm a foodie, and I see Indian restaurants a lot when I'm traveling.I don't know why but I never tried butter chicken. So I thought it would be a good idea to try it at home instead of going out and wasting money. I found this recipe online and made it tonight, and it is awesome! It was super easy to make, and tasted very good. I will definitely make this again!

This is a GREAT base sauce for a quick meal. I’m extra so I do add ALOT of things. I did a dash of heavy cream, butter, diced onions, minced garlic, Italian herb seasoning, ginger powder, chili powder, kosher salt pepper, along with chicken bouillon. Then I pair it with the minute rice jasmine! So good, definitely going to be filming a video soon!
Bought this and wanted an easy Crockpot meal. I added this simmer sauce and chicken to my crockpot and 3 1/2 hours later, we had the most fantastic meal over rice. This was our first time trying Patak’s and won’t be our last. I can’t wait to try other products made by Patak.
I finally tried this out today. I’ve had a lot of experience with butter chicken and tried many regional recipes, at restaurants or at home. I would not advise following the recipe on the back as the sauce is simply too tomato saucy and thick. This is a fairly decent BASE to begin better chicken. Try cooking the chicken with garlic. When you add the sauce also Add half a cup of water, and work in 3/4 cup of half and half little by little, as well as 2-3 tbsp butter and a tablespoon of desi ghee. The desi ghee will really provide that missing ingredient that is necessary with butter chicken. Finish off by adding chopped cilantro.Once again do not use this sauce by itself.
This stuff is sooo good. Very creamy and so delicious. Literally the easiest thing to throw together with some diced chicken and basmati rice. We also paired this was naan bread. It is not spicy at all and comes together in 15 mins. I am going to keep buying this stuff - it’s that good
It tasted nothing like butter chicken. I’m not sure what it was. It had some overpowering flavor associated with it that was quite unpleasant. I agree 100% with the guy who said it tasted like weird tomato sauce. Deserves zero stars.PS I would add a photo but NO ONE wants to see this garbage.
I love curry so i dont have a problem with what sone say is "too much curry flavor". I add onions and cut up chicken breasts. This over rice is so good. Im going to try it with cut up pineapple chunks next time. i just have a feeling this would be good.
Target finally got around to finding a product to replace the Archer Farms Butter Chicken Sauce. The Patak's sauce isn't quite as good but it's a million times better than the Simply Balanced sauce that claims to be Butter Chicken Sauce but isn't.Most of the complaints I see about the Patak's sauce is that it isn't spicy enough. Well, there's a reason for the sauce not being "spicy"; IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SPICY.This is NOT a curry sauce. Butter Chicken Sauce isn't supposed to have curry powder in it and this one, thankfully, does not. The dishes made with non-curry sauce are based upon flavor. Curry sauces seem to be used by people who just want to make their food spicier, many times to the point where it wouldn't matter if the sauce was covering an old shoe ... MoreTarget finally got around to finding a product to replace the Archer Farms Butter Chicken Sauce. There's a great Tandoori Shrimp dish that I've eaten at several Indian restaurants. The sauce for that dish is nearly identical to this sauce.
