This Paterson Film Processing Kit contains everything required to process up to two 35mm films or one 120 roll film at a time. It is ideal for photographers who wish to capture their images on film and have them printed commercially or make their prints digitally after scanning their negatives. It can also form the basis of a complete darkroom, where more specialised equipment to cope with larger images is required than that provided in the Film and Print kit.

I started home developing as the lockdown seemed like a good time to learn. In the last month, I've developed 7 films which have been a mix of b&w and colour in both 35 and 120 format using this kit. Luckily, all have worked and so with this is mind I'd say the following:- The kit is super straightforward to use and works really well. I was surprised at just how easy it is to use so I'd say to anyone who is considering giving it a try, go for it.- You can do two reels of 35mm at the same time but bear in mind you only have one set of clips in this pack so you'll need another pair to weigh both negatives down as they dry.- The thermometer is great but only goes to 30C which was too low for some some of the film I was pushing so I had to guess (worked fine).- ... MoreI started home developing as the lockdown seemed like a good time to learn. I use it because I live in an area of really hard water and when I didn't use it, I got lots of water marks. Now I use the squegee I don't have any water mark issues and I haven't seen any scratches. This might be partly because I heat up the squegee before use in hot water to soften the rubber and wash anything off that might scratch the film. I then use the squegee multiple times but with little pressure.Good luck home developing!

Does what it says on the tin. Cylinders, clips etc all good quality and seem acurate, spool easy to use and no light leaking. I have one problem, the outer lid is a "just but not quite" fit. In that I can get it on but it takes a lot of effort and you have to hold it one while you invert the tank during development. Had the same tanks years ago and the lid always clicked into place reassuringly. This is like it was cast slightly wrong or cooled to rapidly or something. Didn't realise this until I was already pouring the first batch of dev into it. I've been working on it a little since, repetitive bending etc and it seems a little better - looking out for second hand tanks I can nick a lid off now

So glad I bought this to start my home developing. Everything I needed apart from the chemicals side of things, but great quality. I have since added to this kit a couple of 600ml graduates to help my way of doing things but basically this is all you will need.

I've never developed film at home before so this was a new area to me. I purchased this kit as it seemed to fit the bill and so far i'm quite pleased. It's simple to use, everything works well, and it's many many times cheaper to develop yourself so the kit pays for itself fairly quickly. If I can pick on anything I would say that the lid to the developing tank was a little stiff at first but everything became more snug after a couple of uses and fits perfectly.Everything you need except the chemicals is included with no unnecessary extras, and all parts fulfill their purpose just fine. I'm quite happy with my purchase.
Having lost all my original equipment in the attic, and wanting to get back into monochrome wet process photography, this Paterson kit was the easiest and most affordable way to do it. Buying all the parts individually would have both cost more, and taken more time. This kit is the way to go.
Brilliant kit for those wishing to start out developing, this kit contains all the equipment you need to start developing, just add chemicals. Also unlike some starter kits from other companies, the tank in this kit is capable of doing 120 film unlike the smaller tanks which can only do 1 35mm. All the components are quality Paterson products.
This box has pretty much everything required to develop B&W film at home. The equipment feels well put together and made to last, the tank fits up to two 35mm rolls and doesn't leak, and the thermometer is easy to read. Since purchasing, I have successfully developed numerous rolls of B&W film using this kit.I bought a film cannister opener (glorified bottle opener), and some chemicals separately.Occasionally film will snag & pop off of the plastic reel when loading - most often towards the end of the roll as the tension increases. I've found this can be mitigated by guiding the film with my thumbs into the cassette while using very slow cranking movements.
Despite being a photographer for over 40 years, I had never tried developing at home. With kits like this available I really didn't have an excuse and took the plunge. I'm so glad I did because it worked out well and I'm hooked. I made a video here unboxing the kit. https://youtu.be/Er3c6S55NKs and another here where I use it. https://youtu.be/MJbUOwaOspE
Does exactly what it says. All I needed was chemicals - apparently there's a lot of choice! As a beginner at this I chose a intro pack from Ilford. The developing kit had all I needed except a dark space to load my film. I made a bag from old heavy canvas and a rug! It worked. If your just starting out this has more than you need, as you could replace the measuring tubes with other things, your just measuring quantities. The thermometer is great, small scale so easy to get it bang on!Best part is, I could actually develop my own negatives at home, nervous at first but actually really straight forward. Now I need to get a good method of scanning them.
As I'm getting back into film photography again, I thought I would assemble some dark room kit. I started with buying one of these convenient sets and worked from there. Everything is solidly made and easy to use. And great fun! It's worth buying an extra 600ml measuring graduate, some mixers and a pair of film clips, if you're getting into this for the first time. You'll need a cartridge opener too, and of course, a changing bag if you don't have a light tight room. But for a reasonable outlay, you can be developing your own film in no time!
