Calms my skin like nothing else, no greasy residue!

Like there's no residue or greasy feeling at all. But therein lies the problem...it absorbs a little too well perhaps? I feel like once it absorbs, I need to top it off with a just a little bit of a different moisturizer (it is winter where I am, in summer it could be used on it's own). Dr. Dray (famous YouTube derm) reviewed this line and also mentioned that this moisturizer left her skin feeling dry after a bit. So why am I purchasing a full size of this? Well, I just keep going back to it! I have waffled back and forth about purchasing the full size, but I swear -my skin is SO much more even with this and feeling less irritated (I also have the Klairs Midnight Blue cream, but this is better IMO for calming my skin). I'm just instinctually reaching for this. It also feels non pore clogging. My main issue with moisturizers is that the light "gel creams" don't feel moisturizing enough, but other moisturizers feel a little too greasy. My other moisturizers have shea butter, this one does not. It just has the sunflower oil and I think that is why it's absorbing so well and feeling moisturizing on a deep level, but also non greasy and non pore clogging. Going to get the full size and see how it goes!

I ordered the *new* Calm Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer praying it would remain similar and true to its predecessor. Sadly, it is not. It has the familiar "silky, weightless" feel that most moisturizers have now (Water Infusing Electrolyte, Skin Recovery Replenishing) and they just leave my skin dry and somewhat dull. Drops of oil/serum don't mix well or seem to help it either. When I added a few drops of the oil to the original Calm Restoring Moisturizer, there was a delicious thickness to it on my skin that overnight created a dewy, plump, smooth feeling on my 50+ year old skin. Bottom line - please bring back Calm Restoring Moisturizer for my chemo-treated dry skin! Or tell me an alternative inside or outside your lineup!

I was a long time fan of calm line, my sensitive skin loved it, though moisturizing was not anywhere near what korean skincare would offer. After reformulation it is hands down my favorite skincare line. Moisturizing 10+. Well tolerated by my skin even in allergy season. Calms any redness or puffiness in minutes. Also great after depilation and sun exposure. I use cleanser, toner, bha and moisturizer from Calm line. This moisturiser seals the skincare well, yet allows sunscreen and makeup to do its job and sit perfectly.

This moisturiser, coupled with the face wash and serum has literally saved my skin. It's have suffered with dry sensitive skin for some time that would flush and redden for no apparent reason and would refuse to calm down again. I'm 42 with very fair, sensitive skin and believe my symptoms began due to a very stressful and upsetting period a few years ago. My skin has never really recovered. I've tried everything over the last few years including gentle washes designed for babies. After I developed a nasty Staphylococcus infection and on my face, from a pot of cream by a well known chemist, I realised how compromised my skin barrier was. I vowed never to use anything again that required me to dip my fingers in repeatedly, and began searching. Paula's choice was the second higher end brand I tried and it's been a game changer from the outset. I'm three weeks in and my skin is certainly calmer, healthier and in much better condition than it has been in for a while. I wash, serum and moisturise twice a day and things have completely turned around. The pink flush in my cheeks that is ever present is fading and the red flushing has completely stopped. This sits beautifully under makeup and sunscreen too. I'm a lifelong customer now. I won't use anything else. Worth the investment for healthy, happy skin.

Healing and soothing to irritated dry skin!
6 April 2023

I have been dealing with red, dry, itchy, allergy-prone skin for over a year and have tried a TON of products. I was about ready to go back to a dermatologist, but I decided to purchase some sample products from Paulas first. Other products were making make my face red instantly, but with these, I felt serious relief from the first use! The ones that have really worked for me are the Calm Nourishing Milky Toner and the Calm Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer. My daily battle with redness and itchiness have completely subsided after about 2 weeks of daily use!I also really like that the products are broken out into catagories/colors by needs- ie CALM, RESTORE, CLEAR, RESIST etc - I didn't feel overwhelmed when shopping on the website. Holy Grail Moisturizer

I'm a 41 year old skin junkie with combination skin. I was originally introduced to Paula's Choice about 10 years ago. Since then, I've tried tons of different moisturizers, both high end and drug store brands. I still always come back to PC. Over the years, my skin has gone from Combo/Very Oily to now where its still Combo, but progressively getting more dry (thanks to aging). I also have rosacea that especially flares with weather changes, and melasma. The Calm Intensive Moisturizer checks all of my boxes and I have no intention of straying. It somehow has a thick consistency that absorbs well and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy, sticky or like I am wearing something heavy. Best of all, it has a satin matte finish and does not leave my skin shiny (which I hate) and it does not cause any pilling if using with other products. This is one product that I'll stock up on and continue to buy. I'd be extremely upset if PC ever decided to discontinue this wonderful product.

My Essential Moisturizer
22 May 2024

This is my holy grail moisturizer. I am a flight attendant with dry, sensitive skin, which the arid air of my working environment only exacerbates. I wear this moisturizer every day on the plane and it really works to keep my skin from becoming dehydrated and red. It does not pill under a layer of sunscreen and makeup. This is almost a great nighttime cream. If I could only have one skincare product with me, it would absolutely be this. If you have dry skin, this is the cream for you. Please, Paula's Choice, do not ever discontinue this moisturizer!

Not For Me
25 March 2024

May be my fault for purchasing the wrong product for my skin type but this didn't work great for me. My skin gets very dry in the winter so I thought the intensive moisturizer would be what I needed. I have sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts, and while this moisturizer felt and smelled nice, it did cause me to break out a bit. It was a pretty thick and creamy consistency.I would, however, give FIVE STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, as Paula's Choice immediately allowed me to request a refund and I purchased the CALM Weightless moisturizer to try instead. Fingers crossed that works better for me!

Perfect for Neck
23 March 2024

I have oily, sensitive skin and I use the calm weightless version of this on my face and it's perfect for me. I grabbed this intense version because I irritated my skin and wanted something a bit richer for a couple days and this worked perfectly for that. I then switched back to using the weightless one on my face but started using this on my neck that gets easily irritated and I'm definitely going to keep buying it for my neck because it works perfectly for it- I haven't had any neck irritation since using it. I use the entire Calm line and it's perfect for me! I use prescription Tazarotene hence why my skin can be sensitive and the Calm line has really helped my skin!

Three weeks of use
29 February 2024

I've been faithfully applying CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer every day for three weeks. I have not seen any effect of it calming redness, however it seems to soften the skin somewhat when used with other moisturizing products. Readers should note that in the description of this product it says, "Gentle enough even for skin prone to rosacea," it does not say it will cure rosacea. Because I've had sensitive skin most of my life (sixty eight of it, haha), I would say tentatively that CALM Rescue & Repair Intensive Moisturizer has done as it claims; it hydrated my dry reactive skin and it felt very soothing. I'm not sure what "Targets underlying causes of redness" means, that sounds a bit ambiguous.
