If you already knew how this tool is supposed to work, you might be able to understand the instructions, but since I dont already understand what is supposedly being measured and how and why, the tool is unusable to me. This is a great tool that belongs in every bike mechanic's tool box! Not only is it precision fabricated but is also versatile. It awesome for measuring the wear of you chain and has these handy chain hooks that make so easy to install or remove your chain quick link.

One of apparently only two chain checkers capable of compensating roller play. Definitely more accurate than my run of the mill chain checker. My only concern is that its manufacturing quality does not quite match that of other chain checkers, i.e. it feels a bit cheapish.

I am unable to figure out how to use this, and the Pedros web site isnt of much help. If you already knew how this tool is supposed to work, you might be able to understand the instructions, but since I dont already understand what is supposedly being measured and how and why, the tool is unusable to me. An Excellent chain checker - most important to correctly identify when it is time to replace the chain before excess wer occurs to chainrings and cassettes
So, I ordered this because an other, more basic, (2 contact point) chain checker has indicated that I may need to change my chain soon. But that one also indicated that the brand new chain is worn... So I looked into the options and heard that this one is actually more precise (what others say: actually measures pin wear).Guess what, my chain is still in good shape and I can probably keep the new one for next year. :)
Easy to use and accurate. Very nice product for the money. Saves money by verifying if your chain is worn before it wears your the rest of your drivetrain down.
i bought it to replace old cheap 2 point bike hand measure for 12 speed sram chain and so far it works great it measure s the real chain's wear and it's recommended by SRAM
