Pelican 0340 Cube Case No Foam - Black

I originally purchased this to travel to a job in Toronto. I now use it for my local shoots, since it has wheels and I don't have to carry three separate bags for some of my lights. It is strong as a vault, yet light enough to move around. From past experience, I can only say great things about the Pelican brand. Highly recommended.

My company does seminars all throughout the US. I bought these cases for our seminar directors to transport their equipment in. These cases are so durable and are great for transporting expensive fragile equipment. The foam that came in them was easy to use and adjust to the equipment. This was a good buy!

I purchased this Cube Case because a) it fit perfectly in the open slot of my hitchmounted exterior railed carrier next to my 120 quart cooler b) it's AMERICAN MADE c) I needed a varmint proof case for storing food for my camping and fishing expeditions d) I wanted a heavy duty watertight high capacity case for dry goods. I purchased the empty case withouth foam because I wanted as much storage space for food as possible, but I did manage to find an upper lid gear insert that works nicely for dry goods like peanuts, trail mix, small sugar and crisco cans, etc. Just returned from a five day excursion and this box is PERFECT for the uses I intended. It sat in rain for two days, withstood gale force winds and driving rain on my hitchmounted rack at highway speeds and completely sealed in the bread, tortillas, seasonings, chips, granola bars and other dry goods I had stored in it. It's so well built and sturdy that it easily acted as an extra seat, end table, etc. around the campsite. My father, who weighs well over 200 pounds, sat on it and it showed ZERO signs of stress. Great piece of high quality equipment. I did get the casters but haven't attached or used them yet because I just needed a strong storage box. The casters appear to be high quality as well and may come in handy if I ever convert the box to heavy camera or hunting equipment storage. My only criticism, and this isn't really a criticism, is that I don't need the top roll handle - the two side handles work perfectly because the box is thick and heavy, just like I wanted it to be. Loaded up with the aforementioned foods it weighed probably about 60 lbs, but was still easy to port from the pickup hitch rack to the campsite and back. So the supernumerary handle doesn't add enough extra weight to really get too concerned. A GREAT piece of AMERICAN MADE equipment well worth the price! I had to wait a few extra weeks because the item was backordered, and I wish B&H would have been more proactive in keeping me posted on the status of the item (I had to email THEM after three weeks of waiting to hear), but I searched plenty of websites and sporting goods stores and B&H had easily the best price on this item. Can't say enough good things about the quality and dependability of this product!
