I have owned a number of different backpacks over the last several years and all of them leave something to be desired. I decided to purchase this case to use when carrying gear to the different events I shoot, mainly sports and rodeo. I love the TrekPak dividers, but just a word of caution, really think through your setup as they are expensive to purchase more. Everything is secure and stays exactly in place. I leave my gear here full time and love that even at home its perfect storage space. I look forward to flying with it in the future. This is worth every dime I spent. No regrets.

Having gone through several on-line retailers' gadget bags, B&H had a Flash sale on their Pelican 50th anniversary edition...I bit. Glad I did. The Trekpak system is easy if not quick to set up. Measure twice. Once it was completed, I was ready to roll. Went to Assateague for a birding photo op, and the cameras, lens, and accessories travelled easy and well. This was my first hardcase and I am very pleased with the construction quality and durability.

I got this particular case because it works with every major airline's carry on limits. With some careful layout, I was able to get 2 full frame Sony A7 Series, 2 a6400 (all vertical), 3 full size zooms (each the size of the 70-200, and packed horizontally), and one slightly smaller zoom (packed vertically). Easy to assemble the highly customizable spaces, and seems very solid. I will have my first travel on a plane in a few weeks, but this seems like it will do well at protecting everything.

Wasn't sure it would work out as even B&H didn't make any promises, but I managed to get the Nikon Z8 plus the 24-70/2.8, 70-200/2.8 and the new 180-600 lenses plus the Godox flash with an extra battery and charger and still have a little room to squeeze in some owners manuals and tuck in a few extra batteries and a couple of USB- C cables for the Z8. Total weight comes in at 28 to 30 lbs. (the case alone is about 12 lbs.) Don't think I could have done it without the Trekpak system's flexibility and minimal space usage. Glad it has wheels :)!
Before I bought this case, my camera gear was in 4 different bags. The gear was scattered and disorganized. When I got this case with the Trek Pak system, I was able to configure the case so it can carry 3 DSLRs, 3 mirrorless mini cameras and 7 lenses (35mm, 60mm, 105mm, 85mm, 24-85, 35-70, 24-70mm)! I also purchased the Lid Organizer insert. This is just what I needed to keep batteries, lens caps, filters and other items that I always need - especially when I am running and gunning at a wedding! It is a sturdy and solidly built case that I hope to use for my entire career as a professional photographer. When fully loaded my case weighs in at 56 lbs - thank God for the Wheels and extending handle for easy rolling into the venues! The Trek Pak dividers were easy to work with, providing plenty of options to configure the case for my exact gear - I started out by measuring the case, placing my gear in various configurations and came up with a completely customized case that protects everything perfectly like a baby in a cradle!I will buy another one once I have enough gear to fill another one!You will be happy to get one of these cases!
The Trekpak system is amazing. The dividers come with a cutting utensil that is easily usable. The dividers also come with large pins to connect your divided walls to build a fortress around the items you want to protect. I am able to travel the globe with it as a carry on. I carry a large Canon C70, 3 lenses, DJI Air 3 Drone, controller, 3 Batteries, DJI wireless Mics and all kinds of adapters. It’s well worth the money. I travel all the time and I am fortunate to have found this.
This thing is iron clad. I’d trust it with my children (if I had any). I’ve been hauling all of my camera gear in a backpack for years and finally made the switch to the Pelican 1510. No more back pain in the airport. This thing has wheels and it’s the perfect carry on size. Did I mention it’s practically bullet proof. I’ve never felt more secure with my gear storage. Couldn’t recommend this case enough, just buy it in a different color than me so we don’t accidentally swap gear =]
This is a heavy case, even empty, but it does what it's made to do. I use mine for transporting gear that I will transfer to a shoulder bag when I get to my destination. For that, it's excellent, and it's large enough to carry lenses I might use but probably won't. If I'm shooting wildlife but wish I had my macro lens, it's in the car instead of at home.I wasn't sure about the Trekpak dividers, but I really like them. I did buy a couple of spare pieces to make many smaller cells to carry smaller lenses in my 1510. But I wish they were less expensive, since I now want a set for camera bodies and bigger lenses in my 1550. The padded dividers are okay, but the Trekpak are so much nicer.
I have the same size Pelican case with foam. TrekPak dividers are superb for storage, minimizing wasted space and reconfigurable when needed, though major changes in layout may require buying additional TrekPak sections. I use them inside a metal tool cabinet to bring order out of chaos for my gear, and I've been extremely happy with their effectiveness and with the hyper-organized look. For travel, they're very protective against gear bumping together, but for prolonged travel or lots of airplane time they might not be as protective against vibration. You could configure them so the gear is held tightly in them, but then over time they may cause rub marks as the gear is removed and reinstalled. So for travel I do prefer pluckable foam.
I've bought a few Pelican cases and I like this one a lot. The built in lid organizer is incredibly helpful. The inner dividers can be a little be annoying but it is only because the velcro and dividers are so strong so they can be hard to pull apart and place into other areas. But once set it is very strong and an excellent option.I placed a PTZ camera, ATEM, Focusrite, 4 capture cards, Streamdeck, and many miscellaneous cables inside and it still had room for a Mac Studio or another PTZ camera if I wanted (which I plan to do).
