Pelican Air 1535 Case with Foam (Black)

This is an excellent weather cover and seat cushion that's tailor made for a 1510 Pelican case. Crew members who I work with have been very impressed with the design and how useful it is, and with the additional seat cushion (which is very comfortable), I don't have to take an apple box to sit at my monitor while pulling focus, I can use the seat cushion to attach to the cover and sit comfortably on my pelican case. It seems like it's pretty water resistant too.\n\nI'm quite happy with the product and would recommend it to any camera assistants or anyone else who has a 1510 pelican case. Very glad that I bought it.

Easy to use and customize, great for travel

I was hesitant to spend so much on a case, but wanted to make a recent trip by plane easier (getting through security, safely securing as carry on, and being able to wheel my case around).The TrekPak was easy to configure (read and follow the instructions) for my trip and I reconfigured it to use my case for transporting my gear to local events. As for the latter, it's great to keep my gear super organized and accessible during a gig.And when going through security at two airports, neither made me remove anything from the case. I just opened the lid and they looked inside. One airport's agent took out two of my lenses to check them out more closely and then put them back. I unfortunately did not take a pic as configured for my trip. For the trip, my lenses were not attached to bodies for air travel. I also had memory cards and batteries not in bodies. I did and continue to use some pieces of bubble wrap to insert around things so they don't move around.

Fantastic durable case!

Come rainy season in the PNW, I decided to upgrade my summer backpack for my camera and gear, and landed on this case after perusing many options. I knew I couldn't go wrong with Pelican, and I did pick a winner. The case is durable, waterproof, and easy to transport. Depending on the ground/flooring, the wheels aren't too loud, either. Heavy duty handles, and the latches are great. There's enough height on the inside to comfortably stand up a 24-105mm Canon lens, and it's long enough to hold my Peak Design travel tripod. If you pack it well without barriers/padding in the case, your gear doesn't even move around much. I purchased the 1510 lid organizer, which fits perfectly, but I will need to drill holes in the backing of the organizer to fit the holes of the 1535 lid (there's six on the edges of the insert, but the 1535 has four holes closer to the middle). I will definitely be buying this case again to carry additional gear. I can't wait to fly with it!

Flimsy But Does The Job

The case works as advertised. It’ll keep gear safe and I enjoy hard cases for ease of accessing and organizing equipment. I have a small, non-Air, pelican case that feels more solid.This Air case however… for a $250 piece of plastic (I bought the empty shell, made my own insert for $50) that’s made in the USA, I expected better craftsmanship. The lid is somewhat flimsy, the wheels are of a different tightness. But my main issue is the retractable handle for pulling. It is incredibly flimsy with several inches of play left to right and an inch front to back. I’m sure it won’t break but it doesn’t feel good to use.Again, it works and I decided to keep it, it will protect my equipment. I was just disappointed in the build quality.

Great case for your camera gear

I bought this case with the TrekPak divider inserts to hold the Z9 and the 14-24, 24-70, and 105 S lenses. The insert system is easy to customize. Just be sure to measure and lay out your gear before you start making cuts. Also note that the above lenses will not fit front to back and need to be placed on their sides, using up a bit more space. The base insert and dividers are firm so I added some softer foam to better profile the shapes of the camera with lens attached and also to prevent everything from bouncing around. I had space left over for the 24-200 lens front to back, speedlight, camranger, batteries, and filters.Fit and finish is excellent consistent with Pelican quality. Great tool case for air travel

I needed a replacement tool case for microscope repair at client facilities. Previous tried a knock off similar case...looked the same but not a good choice. The first short airplane trip they managed to break off half the pull handle (the airline busted the remaining portion on the return flight). When it arrived at the baggage turnstile the latched had opened and all the tools were scattered on the conveyor.The Pelican case was perfect after multiple flights. Much more solidly built and very secure latches. EXCELLENT PRODUCT.The TrakPak divider is great just be sure of the layout and dimensions before cutting.Best choice from now on. Highly recommended.

I Love BOTH my Pelican 1535 Air Cases With Trek Pak!!

You get what you pay for, and Pelican Cases are in a class way above their competitors.There were three internal options available for both the Pelican Air 1535 case and the Pelican 1510 case when I placed my order: The Pick-N-Pluck Foam Insert, The Padded Dividers, and the Trek Pak Dividers. The least expensive option was the Pick-N-Pluck Foam and the most expensive was the Trek Pak Dividers (which I chose.)Pick-N-Pluck Foam:I used this for telescope gear 25 years ago. It looks great when brand new, but it soon wears out, sheds foam particles, and eventually sags offering very little support. It seems like a great idea for customizing a case but all too soon it becomes a sorry-looking mess that most people will regret purchasing (My opinion.)Padded Dividers:The thick padded dividers offer the best protection but at the expense of storage space. (You mustweigh your own tolerance level.) This was not a viable option for me as I had too much equipment. I've used similar dividers in the past and I assume these attach with Velcro or similar methods. If true, theVelcro eventually wears out and no longer holds well. Also, the fabric covering the internal foam panels wears thin at the contact areas.Trek Pak Dividers:The Trek Pak Dividers are black Coroplast panels covered on both sides by dense black foam. They are held together with black enameled pins which fit into the small holes in the panels. A special tool is included that easily and accurately cuts the panels to the size you require to 'cubby-hole' your equipment. The advantages offered by Trek Pak dividers are greater flexibility and greater use of your available storage space. Because the panels are thin, you can storemore items in your case. If you add more equipment, you can make a new layout, and build a brand-new interior for your case. It also yields the most 'professional look' of the three options.There is one big caveat, however:You BARELY GET ENOUGH TREK PAK PANELS WITH YOUR CASE!One mistake, and you've likely blown it. The old saying, 'measure twice, cut once', definitely applies here. Replacement Trek Pak panels are not sold individually, Currently, they are only sold as part of anentire kit that includes items you may never need, such as the top and bottom foam panels and sidewalls. As I writethis review, the price for that kit is $153.95MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE, AND DON'T MAKE EVEN ONE MISTAKE!After all that, I absolutely LOVE the Trek Pack Dividers! They are by far the best case-organizing system I've ever used, and I love the look of professionalism they present when my case opens up in public.

It may say Pelican...but

Purchased in December 2017 and it was for computer and IT related instruments for daily use and it did not hold up. The first few weeks I was quite happy with the product as I have been using Pelican for decades. At about the 10 month mark I heard different sounds coming from the wheels as if the bearings were grinding and about the 14 month mark I found out that there is nothing that can be done unless you press out the old wheels and install the new wheels. Regardless it became unable to wheel around and I was a bit furious over this since the product did not work anymore and now I am having to find another NON AIR Pelican case that will last and be serviceable going forward. Whats Trendy is never a guarantee. I will still use Pelican but not this for daily use.

Light, strong and secure

This wheeled case meets carry-on requirements as well as practical considerations of weight and security. I am a professional filmmaker and work internationally in sometimes difficult and insecure conditions. This is not the first Pelican case I have owned and used, but it has advantages (weight) that the others have not. Highly recommended for its intended use. B&G is a great company: knowledgable, professional and friendly people at the other end of the phone / keyboard; great customer service systems; wide and deep selection of products; efficient transaction and shipping processes; competitive prices. Let´s hear it for NYC!

nice case, but despite water tight rating, it leaked a bit

my wife and i are planning a safari plus Venice Italy trip soon, so i got this case. we will be in Venice during flood season, so walking to/from the hotel with luggage, especially all my camera gear, was a concern.the first thing i did when i got the case, was put 44 lbs of dumbells into it, and fill the bathtub. it leaked about 1-2 cc's into the case.my test was 1 hr, with me pushing the case under water a few times (even with that weight, it floats).
