I'm very happy I purchased this. At just under 10' it's not too burdensome for 1 person though it is a bit heavy. The sliding 360° swivel seat is great, the accessory rails are awesome, and it comes with 4 rod holders behind the seat, pre-wired and with a transom mount for power. The area for the battery is covered. It's very stable and has an awesome 450lb capacity at just under 10 feet which is way more than most kayaks, and allows a big man to load up and still have 75lbs or more left before hitting that max. The swivel seat makes using the trolling motor I bought very easy. Plenty of room for storage, just a great 1 man boat.

The first week I received it out went out three times and was successful not only catching fish but boating as well! I installed a Bixpy motor because my lakes require electric motors, but of course, you can install a 2.5 Hp. The only two complaints is loading and unloading on your vehicle and a Kayak Dolly. It has nothing to do with the weight that is manageable, its the width. I purchased a SherPak Roller from Amazon to assist when loading on my truck. It works right up until the hull then the boat can slide off due to its width. Overall I would buy this two times over! I don' use the front battery compartment yet for an external battery its more for my tackle and other gear. The point is there are a lot of options and then there are little options to just get you on the water and fish. - FishOn

Using with a 24# thrust, transom mount trolling motor. This is a great fishing (stress the word "fishing") kayak/boat and a quality built product. Although hard to entirely flip over, it does rock rather easy (enough that I am not comfortable stand-up casting/paddling). Battery cover is nice feature, but not waterproof. The lid will not completely close if using with a separate battery box...also battery strap will not fit over the battery box. Not enough onboard storage on this kayak, but is there ever enough storage? Has only one inspection/storage hatch that is located behind the battery which renders it useless; plan on installing additional watertight inspection/storage hatches. Small Plano boxes and the like fit behind the elastic straps along the sides, but ... MoreUsing with a 24# thrust, transom mount trolling motor. Small Plano boxes and the like fit behind the elastic straps along the sides, but not much else. Plan on having a milkcrate system for storing your gear. The seat with 360 degree turning is not only a nice feature but also a necessity for reaching the transom-mounted motor. You have to sit sideways, or facing the back to reach the motor which effects the tracking of the kayak. When you turn the seat to access the motor, be careful not to knock your poles or net into the water since the pole holders are in the rear. Also, the need to turn to reach the motor makes it difficult to store anything behind the seat. Plan on installing a remote-controlled PWM for the motor controls and a Bixpy steering system. Lastly, plan on paying the premium price for a trolley/cart; most after market cheap carts don't work well with this kayak due to its width and unique bottom. In conclusion, if you're looking for a true day-fishing kayak and enjoy modifying a kayak to suit your needs, then this is the boat for you!

Great for Boating, Not for Fishing
23 July 2022

I bought this kayak hoping to be able to fish more water than I could cover with my paddle kayaks or my Hobie pedal kayak. It definitely covers more water more quickly and would be great for recreational use or exploring. It is almost impossible to fish from unless you are anchored because it blows around even in the slightest breeze. With one hand on a paddle and one on the motor control you would have to hold the fishing rod with your feet. Good luck with that.

Missing Parts
23 May 2023

I had to order this Pelican CATCH PWR 100 on-line due to the lack of availability in the local store. When the kayak arrived, the plastic wrapping was torn off and several small parts were missing. (The swiveling 360 plate, the rear engine adapter and associated parts were missing). The kayak was scuffed up and dirty upon arrival. It's a shame because this was the prefect kayak for me. We have a trip planned for this up coming weekend and I needed to use this kayak. If only I could get the missing parts I would be satisfied with my purchase.

Not a fishing kayak.
22 July 2022

When equipped with a relatively powerful trolling motor, the kayak will cover a lot of water very quickly. It's great for recreational purposes, but almost impossible to fish from since one hand has to be either controlling the motor or paddling to keep the boat somewhat straight. This kayak is supposed to be loaded into a pickup, an SUV, or on top of a vehicle, but it has no handles to allow for such loading. One handle in the front, but nothing to help lift and slide the kayak into the vehicle. I gave it two stars only for the ability to get across the lake or up the creek quickly. Nothing else would prompt me to buy another one regardless of the price.

Pelican Catch Power 100 Kayak ... Just Don't.
3 August 2022

All the tracking of an inner tube. Seat is much lower than represented. Impossible for me to stand up. No stand-assist strap, and no practical place to mount one. It's only stable, in a practical sense, for little people like the clown who hyped this garbage scow so hard on YT.The seat rail mounting screws are not sealed. Water enters the hull through the deck. I left it out overnight, next to the house (the gutters didn't drain into it) and woke up to three gallons of water in the hull. If you get swamped by a wake, you're done. This thing is pure hype. No performance, no quality ... just hype and lies.Returned to TS. Outstanding Customer Service! They couldn't have been more helpful.Took my refund and bought a real kayak.

Product itself is a 5*. I gave it a 4* due to imperfections I saw when I received my product. It has a few scuff marks on the bottom and sides. Also has this big scrape mark like someone ran a sculpting knife across it. Also the CATCH decal was damaged. Besides that I’m sure the kayak can tame the sea.

Worst boating nightmare - dangerous experience
28 February 2022

Bought the kayak very excited about having some stable platform, motor powered that I could go fishing with , without working to much about tides currents and so on.Second time using in the water in a very calm day in the bay and while fishing I felt it very unstable and a very small wave (maybe 1 feet?) capsized me. I lost all my fishing gear, I was not able to flip it back and I had to be rescued by a local fisherman. We figure out through pelican that the kayak was defective and leaking water from one of the scuff holes, in the junction. Very upset of this lack of quality from a vessel that you should count your life on and have fun with. Also really poor design: the geometry once full of water inside makes it super unstable and not allows you to get back in ... MoreBought the kayak very excited about having some stable platform, motor powered that I could go fishing with , without working to much about tides currents and so on.Second time using in the water in a very calm day in the bay and while fishing I felt it very unstable and a very small wave (maybe 1 feet?) capsized me. Worst mistake I ever made for a fishing tool.
7 July 2023

I purchased the Pelican catch 100 a year ago. Initially thought it was a good fishing vessel. Absolutely incorrect. Highly unstable, no room for tackle box or anything else. If you wish to stand up you'll need to add outriggers. It comes with a motor mount however it is difficult to steer with arm length to reach electric motor. At this point believe it was a mistake to have purchased this flimsy piece of plastic junk. It's only approx. 10 feet and if you are at least 6 foot it is absolutely difficult to be even mildly be comfortable on the water. If you try to stand you may be dumped overboard.
