A lot of the 200 series pens look pretty simple; but this pen looks classy. It looks like a deluxe pen. It writes nicely too. The gold glistens and the different orange colors of the body and see through part compliment the gold trim.

I'm still getting used to the pen (and it to me!), but I think it's a lovely pen that will be one of my daily writers for a long time to come. Fits my hand comfortably, light and smooth on good paper. There's a reason why Pelikans are so well respected and well loved. This M200 is no exception.

I have purchased several annual colors of this pen by Pelican. I love the white frosted color with gold accents. The ink is good quality, as always, but you have to shake up the bottle and/or flip the pen up and down in order to get the gold flecks to show. While I love the pen, I am less keen on this particular color of ink, but I suspect it would be great with other colors of ink too.

This very beautiful pen writes and feels about like an M400 I have. Others might detect a difference in the flexibility of the 14K nib, but honestly I do not, not enough anyway to matter. They're essentially the same pen in nearly all respects, including, importantly, the filling system. I'm very pleased with the purchase, and have already ordered another steel nibbed M200 as a graduation gift--the Apatite demonstrator model (together with the coordinating Edelstein Apatite ink). It does strike me as strange how Pelikan prices their pens. This Rose Gold and Copper seems more elegant than the demonstrator, but it is considerable less expensive. Who knows. I buy the ones I like. And these M200's are all priced within reason, more or less. Do be aware that these 200 ... MoreThis very beautiful pen writes and feels about like an M400 I have. I appreciate them because they reflect the size of many vintage pens.
Missed out on this ink when it was released so was glad to find it at your store. I didn’t really need the pen - but then again, do we really need any of our pens :) - but it’s actually nice to have one dedicated to shimmer. Golden Beryl is a gorgeous ink and I’m very happy with my purchase. Thanks for the fast shipping, too!
I have a beautiful new Pelikan pen with gold flecks and gorgeous Beryl gold ink. Together they make me feel like a Queen ! I was very impressed with the packaging. Great presentation! The pen is easy to fill, writes smoothly and feels wonderful in my hand. Remember to frequently, gently shake the pen to keep the gold suspended in the ink.I love both the pen and the ink. This would make a beautiful gift to a best friend or mother. So elegant !!!
After thinking about this set for Avery long time, I can’t believe I finally decided to purchase it! The Golden Beryl fountain pen is lovely and the gold dust sparkles take it to another level. Even though the pen is exquisite, the ink is a masterpiece and is one of the most beautiful ones Pelikan has produced! This was a fantastic buy and I’m glad it’s in my collection! Thank you Pen Boutique!
Mostly better than good.First Pelikan - Should’a gone with the Fine nib vs. Extra Fine, maybe a medium. On the lookout for a Med Nib or even an IB, Italic BroadInk is beautiful but sometimes hard to see in certain light - but, even with EF nib there was/is glitter in the writings. No knowledge about permanence.
I need help with the extra fine nib that i got because it's scraping and catching paper particles and mixing with the ink. I watch Goulet Pens YouTube and I'm convinced that my nib has issues. Please help!
This is the fifth Edelstein special edition set in my collection and I love them all. I usually prefer larger, heavier pens but the M200/M205 is shaped and balanced well enough that it is comfortable for me to use. I’ve gotten all of mine with EF nibs and I haven’t gotten a bad one yet. All are smooth and moderately wet (not gushing ink but no scratchy or squeaky sound/feel when writing with the matching inks). The look of the Golden Beryl pen is different compared to the other pens in the series. I think the golden sheen in the plastic is lovely but I wish they could’ve used clear plastic for the internal parts instead of white. I suppose white is less noticeable than the usual black parts, though.Based on some online reviews I was a bit worried the ink would be ... MoreThis is the fifth Edelstein special edition set in my collection and I love them all. I think the golden sheen in the plastic is lovely but I wish they could’ve used clear plastic for the internal parts instead of white. I suppose white is less noticeable than the usual black parts, though.Based on some online reviews I was a bit worried the ink would be too yellow for me or that it wouldn’t be readable with my preferred EF nib. After shaking the bottle, the ink is a beautiful bronzey copper sort of color! The shimmer seems to begin settling to the bottom of the bottle faster than some of the other shimmery inks I’ve played with so be sure to shake it well and fill your pen right away if you want the most sparkle! It looks fantastic in the pen when you roll it around. On paper, the shimmer is pretty subtle with an EF nib and it writes more orange than yellow. I don’t find it difficult to read at all. Probably not an everyday color for me (I lean more toward turquoises or deep browns) but it’s kind of fun and different.*A note on the “Safe to use in fountain pen” rating...I marked this as an ink to use in “economic” pens rather than “high end” only because of the added shimmer. While I’ve never had a shimmer ink actually clog a well-maintained fountain pen, the shimmer particles can be near impossible to completely clean out, even with repeated flushing and soaking. That may not be something people want to risk with high end pens (especially demonstrators, where you’ll keep seeing those sparkles in your feed months after trying out a shimmering ink). I’d recommend Pelikan’s non-shimmering inks for fountain pens of any level.
