Deep, dense red/purple colour, with a bouquet of rich spice and chocolate and dark fruit aromas all well-balanced in the mix. The berries of cabernet and the earthy/spice of shiraz are both identifiable. It's a very full-bodied, rich, dense, concentrated wine, with lashings of tannins which are firm and gripping on the finish. A very long carry. A very big wine, massively structured and impressive, with great power and ageing potential. A wine that manages to tread the fine line between big structure and softness and accessibility. Still, I would cellar it a few years before broaching. (51% cabernet sauvignon, 49% shiraz) 96 points. Drink to 2046. Huon Hooke, The Real Review. August, 2018.

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Both me and my husband really enjoyed this red wine, tasty, delicious and just what we like in a red wine. Not sure I would pay full price for this, £60 is a bit steep! But if they put it on a decent offer (say around 50% off) I would definitely buy it again to have for a special occasion wine. I got this free from Ocado and was so excited to try it with dinner that it was still a bit cold at first from the van. I wish ocado would do something so our red wine doesn't arrive chilled every time, I'm too impatient to wait for it to warm up! :)

Penfolds 389 was a special wine for some years shared at many a dinner with a dear friend, until the winery realized Chinese buyers were leveraging price differentials and buying up the market. So Penfolds raised the price on "the little Grange". I really don't have a problem with that, the winery capturing some of that secondary market revenue. Good business move.Except I was buying this at US$27/btl.Is it still a nice wine? Yes.Still a value buy? Well, that's a whole 'nuther question. We buy when there's a 20% off coupon.

I am reviewing this as I received a free sample from Ocado.I preface this by saying I dont usually spend this much on wine, however for a special occasion with a good steak or roast, we had it with steak, it is simply delicious.Lovely full mouth feel, fruity, oaky and a lovely smooth finish.I am not sure I would buy it again at full price, but there again it was so delicious I might just be tempted!
19 Crimes Red Blend has been our favorite winter red for a number of years. Don't buy it if you like powerful red wines. Smooth drinking similar to the best Merlot's. Ladies love it.
I received this wine free from Ocado to try. This wine is absolutely something else. If I could give it more stars then I would. It is a little pricey for everyday drinking, but for a special occasion wow!! It is a very smooth wine, which I really enjoyed, full bodied but no heavy taste on your tongue. I would love to buy it again, hopefully on special offer. I certainly recommend you to try it, you wont regret it.
I purchased a dozen bottles to add to my cellar so I haven't tried any of this lot yet. But if it's of the same quality as all the other dozens of Jacobs Creek Double Barrel bottles of Shiraz I've enjoyed over the years it's bound to be a very good wine, and at an affordable price.
If you are looking for a Very Special Gift or Something to drink for a Special Occasion. Penfold 389 Absolutely Outstanding Australian Bottle of Red. Quiet literally the intense fruit flavors will knock you over. It is a Big Bold Full On Barossa Red. You need to experience this Red at least once.
I'm reviewing this as I received a free sample from Ocado. As the red wine drinker in the house I was keen to try this. It seems my husband was too due to the price and apparent health benefits of red wine even though he wouldn't usually touch it. To ensure we weren't being heathens, we kept it to drink with beef.I left the wine to stand for 15 minutes before I tried it. The flavour was deep and rich with fruity notes. Luxurious.I wouldnt usually spend £60 on a bottle of red. This has made me think twice. As with the previous reviewer, if it was £30 I would be adding to my basket more often. I may buy another bottle for Boxing Day lunch.Thank you Ocado.
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I think it's a full-bodied wine with notes of oak and red fruits and maybe a bit of spice. I can see how it would go well with beef or lamb but I just had it by itself. I thought it was better on the second night but I often feel that way with wine. I'm probably going to sound terribly unsophisticated but, as nice as it was, and it was nice, I can't say I particularly enjoyed it any more than I enjoy the much cheaper wine I would normally buy. If I didn't already know it cost £60, I never would have guessed. So I feel for myself it's probably not worth it but it's certainly very pleasant and I would recommend it and I'm sure there're people who can appreciate it much more than I can.
